Anita's New Mexico Style Mexican Food

Delicious!!! From the moment we walked in, Michelle was so welcoming. We were so lucky to have her serve us. If you want to taste New Mexico on the East Coast, try Anita's. It's our second time there, and it was just as delicious. My only regret is that I forgot about ordering the Sopapillas. Thank you, Michelle, for being a wonderful server. Anita's you have to try their food!!

My son enjoyed Anita‘s through the school lunch program. He raves about it. That’s what drew us in the door.

I enjoyed the red chili marinated Mexican sausage burrito smothered with green chili sauce. It was absolutely amazing!

The kids enjoyed the french fries and one actually said that Anita’s has the best French fries she’s ever tasted.

The taco salad (chicken) was also a hit.

I can't recall my server was, but they were very kind and attentive without being overbearing. The food was fantastic, it was excellent, the only bad thing was there wasn't more of it, haha. That being said, it's a touch pricer than I would have liked, but the whole experience was good, through and through.

Food is awesome, cheap too. Would definitely recommend

Let me start by saying I was born and raised in New Mexico. So clearly, I know good New Mexican cuisine. And there's various types of "New Mexican" food. Some of the food is influenced by the Spanish, while another by local indian tribes, and some from Mexico. We drove more than an hour to get to this restaurant, and we weren't expecting much as it's so far from New Mexico. Boy, were we in for a surprise. My wife had the chili relleno, and I had the carne adovada. Both were outstanding! We also shared a cup of green chili stew and the red chili pazole. Again, both were simply delicious. They even came with a sopapilla! We saved those for after dinner and ate them with honey and cinnamon mixed with sugar. Wow! The service was great and everyone was very friendly.

For those complaining about the salsa that comes with the chips, we thought it was wonderful. Just like back in New Mexico! This isn't Mexican food, or TexMex. So if you're looking for those flavors, try the Mexican restaurant across the street. It's the one with no cars in the parking lot.

No frills here!
Parking is plentiful, a little tricky getting in and out, but nicely located next to a main road.
The atmosphere is so so.
The staff is friendly and knows their menu well and can offer suggestions.
The meal I ordered was delicious, hot and fresh.
Food is priced for the location, the drinks are a bit pricey though.
What this place lacks in ambiance is made up for in food quality and service.
It's definitely worth a stop in.

I got the chicken and steak fajitas, and the mango Margerita which was not on the menu. The Margerita was potent like I like it. The beans and rice sides were a good size portion, like I like it. Significant other got the fajita burrito. She very much liked it very much. I think I need to try their breakfast burritos everyone raves about.

Tried the breakfast burritos about a year ago. They are incredible. One time I decided to try the Popeye, now I get that almost every day. Extra green sauce.

The employees are absolutely wonderful. The Breakfast burritos & hot sauce are the tastiest in the world. The pasoli is simply the best.

I was born and raised in West Texas, right on the New Mexico border and lived in Texas for almost 32 years. Anita’s is the closest thing I can get to food out there. It just that good. I definitely recommend the casserole enchiladas for a true authentic New Mexican experience. There a distinct chile flavor you can really only find in New Mexican food and they have it figured out.

If you are looking for a Tex-Mex style place, this won’t be it. That would be my guess why some people gave it low ratings. If you want Tex-Mex, drive down to Chuy’s in Sterling.

New Mexican food is a category in its own (some might argue it’s the superior Mexican food) and Anita’s nails it. It isn’t for everyone but if you want a taste of New Mexico, look no further.

Great hole-in-the-wall style Mexican food. The breakfast burritos are the best! My daughter asks for them every time she comes in town to visit.

Really authentic New Mexico style home cooking. It may not look great on a plate, but it was delicious! I was born and raised in New Mexico and felt like I was back there eating at a friend's house.

Delicious food, fast and quality service, and no wait. What more can you ask for? I've been to Anita's many times (multiple locations) but this was the first time for breakfast. I must say, their breakfast is just as delicious, if not more so, than there non breakfast items. Definitely coming back!

I grew up in Texas 500+ miles east from the NM line. Anita's VERY GOOD in the strength, taste of the prepared masa and chili sauce upon my enchiladas. All lovingly packaged in a beautiful carrying bag. VERY GENEROUS in providing plenty of chips on the side. They should put up 2-3 locations in Maryland (Frederick, N. Montgomery County) and maybe, the District.

Amazing breakfast burritos!! We got 12 burritos and a side of fries for $17 amazing. Really quality food!

I always love Anita's breakfast burritos, but had a lovely breakfast of Mr. T's special this morning. My daughter had scrambled eggs and homemade chorizo, which she said hit the spit. Service was fast and attentive! Best visit there in a while.

Their breakfast burritos are AMAZING!!! Everyone at my work and at home LOVE them. Dip it in the salsa and they are 🔥! They have a ton of options too!

The Leesburg Anita's is my favorite location. The food and service is always great!
