Izzy's - Elm Street

Stumbled on Izzy’s whilst taking a walk to the market, in NY the same sandwich at Katz’ is $40, Izzy charges $12 and the quality is much better, easily the best bread I’ve had in my life.

We're from Cleveland and were in town visiting for a show and wanted something local - not a national chain. We found Izzy's and we will DEFINITELY be back every time we're in Cincy! I had the Codfather and it was THE best fish sandwich I've ever had. I almost went back for a second one later on!! The service was also excellent - they were VERY friendly and conversational. Overall - a GREAT experience!

When in Cincinnati on a Friday we have the matzo ball soup. Izzy's has been a family tradition for years, so much so that we usually skip trying new places when we're downtown. It's nothing fancy but they are always hustling and bustling with customers and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you want the matzo ball soup you really do need to go on a Friday though. It's not offered other days of the week.

Awesome food. Enjoyed it. Limited street parking due to location.

Is there anything more Cincinnati than Izzy's? Maybe, but not many. Stacked corn beef reuben, potato pancakes, rice pudding and Dr. Brown's is a perfect meal. More tasty than healthy but that's what Saturday's are for, right? Tip: Izzy's on Elm Street across from Piatt Park is open later than the Main Street location downtown.

This is the only corned beef I'll eat! Just amazing along with the potato pancake, I always get a shaved Reuben 😋 sooo delicious!!!

Izzy's is consistently good. Year after year. You can't beat the potato pancake (sorry gram). Pastrami on pretzel roll is second best, and that's saying something because we hate pretzel rolls in general. Corned beef sandwich, unremarkable.

This is a roast beef dressed up like a rueb (Reuben.) Of course gotta get an extra cake (potato pancake). Meaty and delicious. Extra meat, extra cheese. A man's sandwich. Well worth $15. Most people would split this, but me that's dinner.

Very nice, easy going place for a quick bite, open until 8pm. I had a beef - barley soup, absolutely delicious, thank you!

Great everything.... you will not leave disappointed or hungry.... reasonably priced and just a wonderful place to eat breakfast or lunch.... I would honestly eat here 24 hours a day.....

I saw this restaurant on the food network channel. I visited it when I was there for the Cincinnati music festival. It was all that they advertised it to be. The sandwich was great, service was on point and overall, an excellent choice for corned beef sandwiches. Everyone was friendly and even let us sample things before we ordered. Great place!

Amazing food and amazing experience! Came with my boyfriend a little while ago and we were floored at the quality of the food and kindness of the staff. From the moment you walk in the door the staff treat you like a regular. They're friendly, funny, and very helpful. Bathrooms are clean and so is the restaurant. Food is phenomenal, and unbelievably quick! Candice and LaMarlo were awesome, they made this one of the most fun and engaging dining experiences I've had in a while.

During our meal, a pair came in and picked up some food for takeaway. The lady tripped outside and LaMarlo ran out to help her up. Candice had her eye on her the whole time. Very kind people, awesome to interact with, and generally pleasant in every way. Both deserve a raise and it would be a disservice to the Izzy's name if they didn't get one!

This place is awesome and I can't recommend it enough. Go here for your food when you're in Cinci!

Clean, fast and friendly. Great location, plenty of street parking nearby. Nice and friendly store associates provide excellent service with a smile, and the food is fresh and hot. We love this location and can’t wait to return. Got a reuben sandwich, a pastrami sandwich, famous potato pancakes a jar of pickles and cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert. Delicious!!

This location has great employees, sandwiches are so good & that rye bread is awesome. The sauerkraut was yummy, that humongous potato pancake 🤤 yum.

Good kosher eatery, really the only authentic kosher deli in the greater Cincinnati area that I'm aware of, but what do I know I'm just a passenger passing through, repeatedly over the years..
This is the last surviving Izzy's location in downtown Cincinnati after idiotic developers greedily seeking to pack a mid-tier Midwestern mid-sized town with more condominiums and high price apartments then the market will bear, gutted the original historical Izzy's, although from what I hear, they've opened up new locations.

The food? Well If you've ever been to a kosher deli in brooklyn, then you'll know the menu mostly. Though they have their own little quirks like these delicious potato pancakes that they have some special secret formula for and comes with all the sandwiches. I particularly recommend their fish meals by the way. Although the Cod Reuben was slimmer than it was the last time I passed through a couple years ago, but I think C-19 is shrinking everyone.. the price is significantly higher then it used to be. But everyone must deal with inflation today, and the food is worth it.

The girl at the cashier, Beyond being a total cutie, seems to be a Sci-Fi and anime buff, and therefore the TV is always playing some interesting streaming service film or TV show.
Everyone that works there are pretty friendly but don't expect four star service, but that's not what I would go to a place like this for. It's solid, it's good, you should come here and eat. After all, the place "has rent to pay"

Thank you for the great food. I live in Texas now and when I come home to Cincinnati I always know I am going to get some great food with friendly people making it an enjoyable experience.

Went in the evening a young lady and man were running the store that evening. The meat was cut well. I've had just a couple of sandwhiches where it's been dry or cut against the grain of the corn beef. Which makes it gross and stringy. However, the manager Dawn always makes it right. She also has excellent customer service skills and is friendly, as well as the two people who were there in the evening. That evening the food was fresh, moist and delicious.

Catering through Izzy’s was so great! They made last minute changes, were very accommodating and the food was so great! The potato salad is delicious. Thank you for making my event memorable with your platters.

We love this place! The Goetta Ruben is our favorite. We always grab our food to-go, sometimes calling ahead and sometimes just walking in to order at the counter. We usually visit around late lunch and it’s never busy. But you might have a little wait because everything is made fresh. Do yourself a favor and order extra potato pancakes because they’re amazing!
