Original Pancake House

Absolutely fantastic! The Northwoods hash are so delicious and just the perfect amount of spicy. Not too expensive with great service and atmosphere. I highly recommend reserving a table on their website on the weekends, they get really busy.

UPDATE: As ownership changed since my earlier review, I thought I’d make an update. Everything I wrote before still holds true. Today I had a special - Chipotle Benedict. It was fantastic. Wonderfully flavorful. A perfect blend of chicken, red and green peppers, onion, and chipotle sauce. I hope this gets on the main menu soon! If it sounds good to you, you might want to head over there sooner than later.

I was sorry to see the breakfast sandwich leave the menu when ownership changed, as it had become my go to when we ate here. Oh well.

I love this place. Great food and service. Of course, that means the wait for a table can be a bit long - especially on a weekend. But it’s worth the wait. Their pancakes are wonderful as is their bacon and sausage links. So I often just go for the Jr./Sr. Plate (tip: ask for extra crispy bacon). I’m a fan of their potato pancakes (get them with syrup and applesauce and sour cream!). Their mixed berry crepes are also amazing. If you’re appetite is big - order one of their flavorful Omelettes (comes with toast or pancakes). Their coffee is good too - your cup will never remain empty for long.

During the Covid pandemic, we discovered that you can order pancakes, bacon, sausage (probably anything) as takeout! That has been a great way to make a special weekend morning from time to time.

We absolutely love OPH!! The staff is wonderful! This is hands down the best breakfast place for us. The bacon is thick cut and cooked perfectly. The souffle was full of meat and cheese. The bananas foster is delicious. Also, the cocoa is 😋 rich n creamy. My husband loves breakfast and is very picky, but he has no complaints here. 1st choice for him is OPH in Plymouth, MN. We've also had the lunch meals here, again wonderful!! The staff was very friendly! We arrived after noon on a Sunday, which was still a busy time, and we got our food without a long wait. We will be eating here anytime we visit the area!!

As a pancake enthusiast, I'm always cautious when ordering them gluten-free. However, every time I've ordered their gluten-free pancakes, they've exceeded my expectations in both taste and texture. The staff is always accommodating, confirming the gluten-free status to ease any concerns.

If you're highly sensitive to gluten and on the hunt for delicious gluten-free breakfast options, look no further than OPH. With their attention to detail and mouthwatering dishes, they've become my go-to spot for a satisfying and worry-free meal.

Our server was an older lady. She was absolutely amazing. Very easy to connect to, and she went the extra mile to provide top-notch service. Breakfast there is always delicious plenty of options for everyone. Generous portions, as well. One of my favorite breakfast places. Also, they have multiple locations across the nation. Each location has the basic menu, but has different options as well.

Nice warm and cozy pancake house with comfort food. They had a nice fireplace going and it was snowing. A perfect spot for breakfast / lunch.
They have daily omelette specials. I had the chili cheese. The other time I had the Sicilian. Both enough for 2 people for sure. I couldn't even finish
the chili cheese one it was so big. Chocolate chip pancakes get me every time. I would like to try pumpkin or banana. They have about 20 or more kinds. Today I had the grilled egg salad and it was perfect!! Nice folks here too and very clean!

Wish we had pictures, but the pancakes were great. Had a good experience even though it was a little busy. The server was attentive and we got our breakfast hot.

Great breakfast place for the whole family. They are very popular so they tend to pack people in pretty tightly. Other than that, the food is good and the wait staff is attentive.

Service is nothing but amazing. There is always a little bit of a wait but it's always manageable and nothing extravagant. It was very busy when we went which i always find a good thing because the food hast to be amazing then. Staff is very nice and friendly and moe is fantastic. She's very sweet and kind and has the best stories and recommendations. Food was priced at a very good rate and service was very efficient for how busy it was. Very happy with service and the food. It's a home away from home type of food. Everyone left full and happy!

If you EVER have a chance to visit an OPH, DO NOT DECLINE!! The menu is chick full of options besides pancakes but with pancake in their name, they are experts! Sometimes there's a wait but it's so worth it; I've never waited more than 15 minutes, including on weekends. The coffee is good, the service is attentive and the ambiance is just great for a bigger spot.

This was the first time to visit the "Original Pancake House". The staff, atmosphere, and food where the talk of my family all day!! My experience was excellent all across the board. It was very hard to choose what combination of breakfast I was going to decide on from their menu. Which ever one I chose, they included the delicious pancakes they are famous for. I and the entire family will be returning to sample many more of their tasty breakfast entrees.

I was going to meet a friend there but she got lost so I ordered strawberry pancakes with bacon and ate by myself. Waitress was very kind and didn't mind me waiting for my friend to show up.

This is a pleasant surprise, despite a name that engenders feelings of suspicion. While it’s unlikely to be the originator of the pancake, the food is a notch above. The hot chocolate is noticeably a cut above served with fresh whipped cream. My eggs were perfect (they make no claim about being the originator of the fried egg). The French toast was also excellent. The toast is thick cut and the home fries were crispy. I want to make special mention of the hostess, Olivia. She was very friendly and added to our overall experience. Our server was excellent too.

Great food , up scale atmosphere coffee bar available for immediate seating.

The food here is AMAZING!! I will always recommend this as a place for a great eggs Benedict or crepes!

This is our family goto for a breakfast spot that has something everyone will love. Very generous size servings so there there’s always extra to bring home. All around great breakfast spot.
