The perfect spot to relax before or after getting to Yosemite. Very cozy and the atmosphere is great. Staff were super concerned with our comfort all the time. Definitely place to be when going to Yosemite park!
Plus a couple of birds were building a nest right in our window. It was so nice to watch it happening. Watching them sleeping at night.
Almost forgot to mention, they put some fresh muffins and fruits for the guests to take and enjoy the journey.
Just perfect!!

We stayed one night during our visit. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel and town are historic in nature and tried to preserve the old nature. The amenities were quite sufficient and the owners are very friendly. The surprise was a simple breakfast that was offered with coffee. The location has good eating places around it.
I would stay again here in a heartbeat.

Thank you for providing us a excellent experience.

A slice of the old west. Hotel Charlotte is a charming place to stay if you're visiting Yosemite. A warm welcome, delicious muffins and comfortable rooms, you couldn't ask for more. The restaurant and bar (Charlotte's Tavern) is also well worth a visit, great food and a fine selection of beer and whiskey. Grab a seat on their balcony with a drink and you'll be in for a beautiful evening.

Antique hotel built in 1921
It could be considered old, but there's a charm to its age. The manager was very kind, and the food on the second-floor terrace with the sunset view was absolutely delicious. If only I had known about this place earlier, I would have stayed a bit longer...

Hotel Charlotte exceeded our expectations. The rooms were quaint, the hotel atmosphere was cozy and the food delicious. Most of all, what we loved (and looked forward to) was their incredibly welcoming and friendly staff that helped us plan our time in Yosemite. They even greeted my pup with some treats up in our room upon arrival! We would stay here again and will happily reccomend to others.

Wonderful customer service! We arrived late and were accommodated at the restaurant and bar event tho they were closing. The staff made us feel right at home and provided donuts and coffee in the morning. Highly recommend!

Hotel Charlotte is a gorgeous historic hotel very close to Yosemite with fantastic service and amazing people running it. We were stuck in town for a few days because our car broke down and the staff went above and beyond helping us and offering whatever assistance they could, even when it was not their job to do so. I cannot recommend this place enough!

AMAZING experience! We booked this for a Basecamp traveling from the Bay Area to Yosemite & couldn't have been more blown away. The staff is incredible, literally so accommodating it blew us away. When we checked in after a long day at Yosemite the food smelled delicious so we changed our plans of eating out and changed it to eating in. As a Texan I'm proud to say the Chicken Fried Steak was better than expected & the Chipotle Sweet Potato Salad was out of this world! My wife had the Meatloaf & it was just as good as Mama makes.
The rooms were clean and comfortable & this will be our goto destination for all things Yosemite from here on out.
Keep up the good work & thank y'all so much for such a memorable stay!
If you're reading reviews because you're on the fence, take my advice & book the stay, you'll be happy you did!

Loved staying at the Charlotte Hotel! The room was lovely. Staff were so kind and made us feel right at home! The tavern had the best drinks in town (highly recommend an old fashioned). Absolutely loved our time here and will stay again if given the chance.

Very cool historical room with a claw tub! Clean, warm, very nice service, and right across the road from breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Also very pet friendly, our dog appreciated the cookies!

Just back from our weekend stay at Hotel Charlotte and I wanted to write this review before I forget all the amazing things!
We decided to celebrate my husband's 41st birthday at this charming hotel. The goal was to take him to an old west historic hotel and Hotel Charlotte was top of the list. We liked the bonus of being 30 minutes away from Yosemite. We took our 4-year-old and appreciated that the hotel is kid friendly. We stayed in rooms 2 and 4, and our kid loved having their own room with the joining bathroom. The rooms were great. Obviously old, but that is the point. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We were right next to the balcony patio, a big bonus!
We ate at the restaurant two nights in a row. We also ate on the balcony both nights. All three of us loved it! The heat lamps kept the area cozy and the view is awesome. On the first night we had a short power outage while waiting for our food. It was not surprising, we imagine this was a common occurrence. We actually had fun watching the town move on in the dark. This outage did not prevent our food from coming either. The food was delicious and the cocktails were perfect.
The complimentary muffins in the morning are great! The couch by the window was a fun spot to people watch. They had games available, so our 4-year-old practiced his letters on the ABC blocks while we sipped our coffee and tea.
The customer service is wonderful. I appreciated how calm everyone was during the power outage. The hotel owners were very friendly and hands-on. The entire staff was cool during our whole visit.
We loved our stay so much. Hotel Charlotte made my husband's birthday super memorable. We are very lucky that this hotel is still around 100 years later. You can feel the way this place is lovingly preserved and cared for by the owners.
Our day trip to Yosemite barely scratched the surface. We will come back to explore more of the park and Hotel Charlotte will be our spot.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Charlotte. From booking to checking out, the entire process was easy and the owners/staff made us feel welcome. The vibes of the Hotel Charlotte were neat - like a Victorian-era B&B set right in the middle of an old western mountain town. The hotel has a restaurant inside of it and the food is refreshingly different than you might expect. The hotel also has a beer garden out back. Both nights of our stay, they had live music out in the beer garden. Shout out to the awesome sax player! The owners/staff were absolutely wonderful. You can tell they really enjoy what they do. I went for my birthday and, unbeknownst to me, my Mom had called ahead and asked them to put champagne, chocolates, and flowers in my room, which they happily did. Finally, the Hotel Charlotte is in a great location relative to Yosemite National Park. We left the hotel around 6:45 a.m. to go hiking and got to the park in a little over an hour. It's the perfect place to stay outside of the park and you can take advantage of all the park has to offer.

TL;DR - I would stay at the Hotel Charlotte again and I would recommend you do the same!

Stayed for a quick romantic getaway and to scope out spots for our Yosemite wedding next year. They truly are amazing, friendly and great service. We loved the room and friendly staff. It’s charming hotel with a fun beer garden in the back and delicious hotel bar. We didn’t get the chance to try the restaurant food, but the bar had appetizers available and we let not disappointed. Looking forward to staying here again!

I stayed there with my brother and sister in law for one night. We had connecting rooms with a shared bathroom. The rooms were cute and cosy and the bed was super comfy. The only reason why we didn't give it a 5 star was that the heater was very noisy and woke each of us up a few times. The owner was super nice and funny. We ate dinner there and it was a big portion and very yummy. They also had coffe/tea and delicious apple muffins for BF.

I have stayed here several times in the past, and the hotel stay is always a pleasure!

The staff greets you warmly when you arrive, the room is always ready, and the hotel feels like you are coming home to Mom's.

There are plenty of food options in the area, and there is a large grocery within a walkable distance.

They provide coffee 24/7, muffins in the morning, and have an outdoors area with music for a relaxing evening.

The beds are comfortable, TV reception and WiFI is good, and the rooms are cozy and well-maintained.

There are few places to stay in Groveland, but I highly recommend this hotel.

It's all about the experience! Super quaint rooms, incredible staff, high quality bar with specialty cocktails, incredible chef and menu and the owner Finn is such a welcoming host! Its an old old hotel with oodles of charm, very clean and well run! Super close to Yosemite with lots of fun restaurants and saloons to visit.

Hotel Charlotte is our favorite place to stay when we are visiting Yosemite. It is only about 30 minutes outside the entrance to the park, right on the way, and so cute and charming. The rooms are clean and cozy, but the best thing about this Hotel is the customer service! The owner was there to accommodate our late check in and even remembered us from the last time we visited a couple years ago. He made sure we had everything we needed and gave great recommendations for places to stop in Groveland. We love Hotel Charlotte and highly recommend staying here!

Definitely a five-star experience in Groveland. Finn is a hands-on Innkeeper with lots of information and stories. The room was clean, bright and comfortable and featured a new spa tub and heat/ac. The lobby is spacious and comfortable to hang out or eat in. They have a happy hour with terrific cocktails and beer and then offer a very good upmarket meal choices. Rates are reasonable, afternoon checkin and self-checkout. Spend time in lovely Groveland in comfort!
