The best Chinese food in Maine, and I'm "from away" and grew up eating lots of Chinese food. I ordered two lunch specials the other day, with an order of egg rolls (the best in Maine), which was enough for 3 meals. The chicken was all white meat with not an ounce of fat. The sauces were tasty and the fried rice was great. If you're in Freeport, definitely stop here, or even if you're nearby, go out of your way for this place. Having had Chinese food many times in Chinatown in NYC, this is the real deal. This is what great Chinese food tastes like. The service is also terrific and the woman taking the orders is extremely pleasant.

I'm originally from the Philly NYC area and trying to find a place that rivaled it... And China Rose does it!

I am gluten free and all of their rice noodle dishes are phenomenal, as well as their vegetarian dishes.

Excellent food and service. I love the drive up take out option. Ignore the low star reviews, just some miserable folks with nothing better to do. Enjoy 😊

My family and I ordered three lunch buffet specials which we thought were a great deal. We had the shrimp lo mein, schezuan shrimp, and vegetables in garlic sauce. All were delicious! The flavors were well balanced (not too oily or salty) and the vegetables were not overcooked. Service was good and fast. Appreciated the delivery takeout window (especially on a rainy day).

I have been eating here for over 20 years since they were down on one of the side streets. The bad reviews here are simply not accurate. The egg drop soup is the best I have ever had. There are always vegetarian options. I have eaten here alone and never had an issue with service, but I have brought a group of eight or so before and that was no problem either.
We plan our trips to southern Maine and beyond so that they include a stop here.

First and foremost, I was highly impressed with the exceptional customer service I received when I called to place an order. The gentleman was very kind, warm, and patient on the phone. When my husband went to pick up our order, he received the same service.

As far as the food goes, I was pleasantly surprised. We've tried a few Chinese places in the area and I wasn't overly thrilled with them, but China Rose certainly takes #1! We tried their pupu platter and the appetizers were great! The only thing I would request is a little more flavoring in their wonton soup - but it was still great!

My Wife and I have had numerous lunch and dinner dates here. The service is always friendly and attentive. Buffet is delicious and includes a variety of different options. Try the honey chicken and mei fun noodles.

Sort of a hidden treasure, at the end of the strip here. Easy to miss. It's a small place, and the buffet had a good selection, frequently refilled, for always fresh food whether you get there early or later. We had a very nice, quiet table for the two of us, ten steps away from the buffet.

I just picked up a to go order with egg rolls, dumplings and two entrees. It was all excellent for the price. I liked their drive-up window for take out. There is plenty for tomorrow!

Best Chinese cuisine around. Authentic food, good atmosphere and great prices. This place has great flavor and some true good food. I would choose this place over any other. A+ service as well. I dont think there is a competitor within the area. You should take the time to see how good they really are.

Hands down the best chinese food in the greater portland area.. must have changed hands in the last couple years, since the food is primo now... they do szechuan/spicy!.. Rivals "hu shang" from 30 years ago in the portland area.. that is the ultimate compliment

Fast friendly service. Went with my grandparents pay night and had a lovely time. Good was great, it was kind of busy but still quite enough to have a conversation we could all enjoy. Pricing and very reasonable for the area too.

Despite being strictly drive-through this establishment has incredibly friendly service, the food is quite delicious.

After 10 days along the Maine coast, we want a change from lobster & other seafood so we always stop at China Rose. Service is good, portions are large and excellent, prices are reasonable.

Good food but take out only. One of the VERY FEW restaurants in Freeport. ME open after 8 pm. Crazy how restaurants set down or not open in this town. L L Bean is open 24/7 but no food.

We got very hungry traveling and before we knew it virtually everything was closed or closing. We we very fortunate to locate this place the food was incredible and there was plenty for dinner and a midnight snack too!! Thank you China 🌹
