This man new I wouldn’t be home until the afternoon and that my wife was out of town. I explained this to him when we spoke on the phone last week. He says he tried calling me never got a call. He shows up to my house 3 hours early my underage kids where home at the time and they took some trash out and this man lets himself into the house. When I fly home from work and confront him about it he gets smart and has an attitude. He should not be a business owner much less an appraiser. Does he not know the liability to letting himself in the house with underage kids knowing that both parents are there?? I will never recommend this person to anyone. Called my daughter a liar. His so called apology was not one as he had an attitude.

My husband and I were trying to get our house refinanced. Our house value with today's market is between 310k-330k. We refinanced with the intention it would appraise at 300k minimum to drop pmi off. The company we were going through hired heckaman to do the appraisal. It took 2 trips at our house for them to get the pictures they needed. After the report came back they set it to 275k value. The report made absolutely no sense and the houses he made comparable were older, smaller, less and worse yard and over sold for about $30-$40k less then what ours would sell for. We have talked with many professional realtors that have said our home would sell for 320k easily. Long story short heckamans report was terrible and when we asked about it, he got offensive. Maybe he thinks the market shouldn't be this high. However, his stupid report caused lots of stress with what should have been an easy refinance for us. Luckily we decided to go elsewhere and forgo our $500 fee with the other company. Now we are closing up with our new refinance company that was extremely easy and had a 315k appraisal. So clearly this company is unprofessional and don't know what they are doing.

I highly recommend NOT using this firm for appraisals. They came in $40,000 lower than the next appraisal I received on the same house 2 weeks later. I tried to appeal to his appraisal and point out what I think was incorrect and the response was "I have been doing this for 17 years, you don't know what you are talking about, i'm not changing it." I now make sure my lender does NOT have this company on their appraiser list. The lender said "as soon as I saw that name I knew we would have trouble, every time I have ever had a bad appraisal it has been from that guy, he has a reputation." DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!
