Houlton Big Stop Restaurant

What happens when you dine next to the Canadian border, POUTINE baby. Two different gravy options, had both, can't go wrong with either. Also had the turkey club. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was fresh turkey instead of sliced, nice. The pics show how I finished this fine meal, coconut cream pie, so good. All their pies look amazing. So I was a bit upset that my food filled me up so much and the slices are huge so I could only have one slice. Damn, I new I should have packed half the club sandwich for later.

The food is delicious and the waitresses are friendly and efficient. I usually get breakfast since it's breakfast all day. My son prefers lunch or dinner options. We have only had good experiences at the Houlton Big Stop.

We stop there every time we go to Caribou. The cashier's are always very personable & helpful. Great atmosphere!!!

Great friendly people and good service good spot to get snowed in

Stopped here after a delivery, nearby. Their showers are very nice. I don't know if it was an oversight, or not, but there was no wash cloth with the towels and it does take time for the water to heat up, but it was very nice and the folks working there were welcoming and working hard to meet the demands of their customers. The store is on the small side, but meets the basic needs and there is a restaurant that several said had great homestyle cooking. Overall, it was a really nice experience, here.

Great food as always love the scenic area. Staff are are always checking making sure you are well taking care of. From desiel desk to the restaurant. Bath room very clean.

Food was amazing both meals that I had there over a 2 day period. Service was top notch Jill did a really good job taking care of me both times. She is very sweet as well.

Went here for brunch. Service is amazing and the food is also amazing! I love that the waitresses are all very attentive. I have been here many times. I will say today's waitress, Haley, was awesome!

Amazing food, great big portions...

I had not eaten here since the start if the pandemic. It served good food before, but I had heard negative reviews during the pandemic. I ordered a well-done cheeseburger with fries and a side salad. Everything was very good. The service was friendly although it seemed she was fairly new to the job. The burger was cooked exactly as I wanted it. The salad was crisp and fresh. The fries were very well cooked. I have no complaints at all.

Placed my order on-line at 1:30 pm for a 5:00pm pick-up. My 2 person meal was ready when I arrived. Friendly greeting upon arrival. Food was packed well and tasted quite good. Wished they would offer more of a selection of desserts from their take-out menu though! Will definitely use Houston's Big Stop again for take out!!

One of the deliveries I make in Maine takes me past here so I often find myself spending the night here.

The restaurant didn't have my initial choice for dinner this time but I won't hold it against them, these are crazy times after all.

Staff is always friendly and personable, the store is clean and well stocked and what you can't get there you can find at the Walmart across the street within walking distance.
