El Charro Mexican Restaurant

The food, service and ambiance was absolutely phenomenal and first-class! This gem superseded my expectations. It was truly a “taste of Mexico” as the food was authentically prepared and not “chained” as other Mexican restaurants I previously experienced. It was so good the first night that I bought my friends back the very next day! KUDOS to everyone!!!!

Welcoming, smiling, friendly staff. Food was amazing and sizzling HOT! Just the way I like it;) drinks were good with above average additions such as flashing light and orchid flower. Not needed however made date night a bit more special, thank you🥰 we will be returning!

My family was looking for a place to eat and we stumbled across this place. Now being someone who doesn’t like new things I was a skeptical about trying something new. Walking into El Charro you could feel the atmosphere was different and I throughly enjoyed it, the food was incredible and our waiter (Leo) was simply amazing. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants something different from the typical Hispanic food experience! Thank you for the amazing service, food, and making my families night!

Simply the best Mexican in the area. I cannot recommend enough. The El Diabla shrimp is HOT but oh so good. Just love the place!! Mexican corn good too!

We found this place on Google while traveling back from the upstate. Definitely above your typical Mexican restaurant. My wife said it was probably the best Mexican food restaurant she's had. Amazing food we had included fajitas for two (enough for three people--get the ones with the chorizo!) and the cheese steak burrito (could feed at least two people). Highly recommend those. Service was excellent. Very clean inside with a nice decor. Highly recommend!

My husband and I tried out this place today for lunch. The food was absolutely the best Mexican food we have ever had. The chips and salsa were great. The salsa was flavorful and just the right amount of kick. We had the al pastor and the asada tacos. The cilantro, onion, and lime complemented the meat so well. Per the recommendation of our waiter, we tried the cheesecake burrito and it was soooo good! We will totally come back!

It was $34 pre-tip for the two of us (sodas, 2 meals, and a dessert).

Also, a family had a celebration while we were there and the staff sang for them and one staff member even played the violin for the family! So cool!!!

Went for lunch, great salsa and chips, they’re light and crunchy. The cheese dip is good. Great selection on lunch menu. I ordered the lunch menu #13 chori burrito. The flavor was great, I added pico de gallo.

I’m from Texas…so kinda picky when it comes to Mexican food. This place is legit! Chile Relleno is probably the best I’ve had. Tamales and Carnitas were REAL GOOD! And the best part…the margaritas weren’t neon! Lol. Great service and you can tell the food is made with love and pride!

This was part of our first take out order and first time trying their food. Overall, excellent taste. The carnitas were some of the best I've had. Servings were generous. Carne con queso was good, but a little less carne than I expected. Salsa was very flavorful and about a medium heat. The beans were fresh and very nice. The elote had a nice lime zing. Price was comparable with 2 restaurants nearby.
Overall, for quality, presentation, and price..... we will be back.

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is superior to the other area restaurants and the staff is courteous and attentive. If I could give a 6th star, I would! You could easily eat for under ten dollars but I wanted to try several items since it was my first time patronizing this establishment.

Absolutely delicious! One of the best Mexican restaurants in Irmo. Their Horchata is one of the best around here. Their meat on their Torta (Mexican sandwich) was full of flavor and tender. Their spicy sauce was not too spicy with just enough kick. Salsa was fresh and delicious. Staff was super friendly and made sure to regularly check on us and refill our drinks. Definitely recommend a visit.

The food and service was absolutely delicious. Our server Luis was so kind and helpful, with fast service. We will definitely come back.

Guys!!! This place is amazing, I just happened to pop in for lunch. The food was fresh and top notch, the margarita… get out of town! However, what set this place aside was Geraldo, the owners Papa. I’m trying to learn Spanish, he took time to help me pronounce words correctly, and was just plain friendly for my whole visit. If I could give 10 stars I would!

Everything is absolutely delicious! The staff is friendly and the service is amazing. The enchilada supreme dish is the best I've had. I highly recommend dining here. The Aqua Fresca is a must try!!

What a blessing it is to have an authentic Mexican restaurant open so close to my home town. This place serves fresh made from scratch food and the staff could not be more helpful in recommending foods. From the minute you walk in to the minute you leave, you are welcomed as family. The food is absolutely fabulous. The salsa is fresh and the chips are different and more tasty than any chip around.

It was delicious! Tacos were full of meat, 2 types of salsa served with them and a good serving of beans and rice. Nice atmosphere with lots of nice details. Great service.

Great food and even better people! Thin chips and fresh salsa. Favorites are Chori-Pollo & Tacos de Asada for sure.
