Black Bear Diner Palmdale

Delicious, big portions of tasty food! Had no idea this place was a chain with locations all over California, Washington, Texas, Oregon & Arizona...Wonderful server Amy made sure my breakfast was cooked just how I like it; eggs scrambled well, chicken sausage with a sear on it and a fluffy waffle with fresh strawberries & whipped cream. Amy made sure my coffee cup was always full and she helped my Dad with ordering items on the menu. She even showcased the yummy desserts we could order to take home as we were cashing out. A great place to eat I will definitely come back to again!

We came in as a big group (30+} on 3/1/24. Rosie the manager was so accommodating. Our servers were wonderful! Food was delicious. After laying a loved one to rest we really appreciated the awesome service. Thank you!

We ate at the original Black Bear Diner in Shasta many years ago, LOVED it, and have been wanting to return ever since. Happily, we now have one in Palmdale, and the food, service and decor are still all first rate. The servers and hostess were prompt, efficient, courteous and on point, with special thanks to Ashley. We arrived on a Mother's Day around 3 PM, and waited less than ten minutes to be seated. As for the food...pictures don't do it justice. The corned beef hash is actual corned beef, roasted with potatoes, and melt in your mouth delicious. The chicken and waffles (ohhhh, those sweet cream waffles) are good to the last bite, although, given their generous portion sizes, you might find yourself taking some home. If you've never eaten here, treat yourself and stop in, if you haven't been here in a while, remind yourself of what you've been missing!
01/26/24- Stopped back in and was once again treated to excellent food and even better service! Kudos to Noemi for being a fantastic server!
Came back for Rebelle's Birthday, and had a fantastic brunch. She got the Grizz, and I got the bigger chicken fried steak. The biscuits and gravy were a meal in themselves, and those huckleberry lemonades made it even better. Cheers, felicitations and salutations to Amy for above and beyond service, and an extra Thank You as well!

Been about Black Bear diner for a Good while. Finally tried it today for breakfast and let me tell you it was a great experience. I regret not having it Sooner. The food was awesome and service was great. I truly recommend it.

I dined in today with my kids although the restaurant was very busy today our server Noiemi ALWAYS goes about and beyond and has us returning and requesting her as our server every time! She’s always so mindful and pays attention to details. Although very busy she communicated with us the extra wait time on the food but was great about making sure all the kids at our table were taken care of first and ensured there food came out in a timely manner regardless of the rush of the restaurant, she knew they came hungry and always goes above and beyond to make us feel taken care of . In addition she always makes sure our food is at the perfect temperature when it arrives to our table. The adults did wait a little longer due to how busy it was but we understand as the adults but what we APPRECIATE THE MOST is she ensured the kids had their food as soon as possible which makes our dining experience so much better because she always ensures the kids are kept happy ! She is not only an amazing individual but amazing at what she does. She has great customer service and you guys are lucky to have her. She is top tier !

Well my experience was pretty pleasant! My Server as well as Greeter was a young lady by the name of Brianna! She was very helpful when I asked about the certain items on the menu! She also had a pleasant personality and loved her smile 😊. The wait to be seated wasn’t to bad! And our food that we received wasn’t to long of a wait neither! Brianna made sure that we all had everything and made us feel comfortable! Thank You for that experience Brianna and we do plan on returning!

My husband and I went to Black Bear Diner for the first time at the Palmdale location. We had a Wonderful experience. Rosie and her staff we amazing and the food was great. I accidentally left my wallet at the table. Rosie put my wallet in her office for safe keeping. I didn't realize for 5 days that I had left it there. I went back to the restaurant to retrieve my wallet, Rosie was so happy that I had finally realized I left my wallet. She had been trying to figure out where we lived so she could drive it to me. She is an amazing person, I am so grateful to Rosie and her staff for their kind and caring nature, they all went above and beyond and I very appreciative to all of the Black Bear Diner staff.

This diner is amazing! The ambience is homey, the staff are super friendly and attentive. They have a gift shop in front which has a bear themed merch.
They also have pastries in front, lotion and kid's toys.
The menu is like a newspaper which you can bring home (great idea).
The food is also great! Pancakes and bacon is a must order! A good amount of maple syrup is served with it. They have soda fountainfor the soda lovers and tea (iced or hot)
Parking is shared but ample for all customers.

Nice restaurant. Very clean. Lots of tables. Plenty of space to move around. The service here was great. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. We said, "This is so good" many times throughout our dinner. I was sad I didn't have two burgers before I was even halfway through! The fries were surprisingly amazing as well. Meals here are a little more expensive, but worth it. We will definitely be returning.

They blessed him with a delicious oreo cheesecake and sang to him.

I must say the food was delicious, and served hot to my liking. The Manager Erica and staff were so pleasant, kind and professional. The are was clean and quiet. I'm glad I had the opportunity to enjoy my birthday at Black bear diner. Keep up the good work.

First time trying Black Bear diner didn't have to wait to long for service. Love there very unique newspaper menu. They serve large portions of food reason why their prices are pretty reasonable. Food was great. Server was super attentive being the only server he did a great job. Had the fried chicken dinner with mashed potato and gravy and steamed vegetables very tasty included clam chowder soup and corn bread warm served with butter. Mulberry lemonade to drink. Delicious

First time here. We had breakfast and everything was tasty. Portions were on the small side versus the price. Waitress was awesome. Very clean.

I came recently on saturday with my family & we had a great time 😊 , All our food was delicious & it wasn’t much of a wait . Our waitress Mary was so lovely , always was on it for refills and for any request of ours . DEFINITELY Worth it & Coming back again .

Everyone was so kind, very kind to all their customers. The food was delicious and well sized food. Rosie was informative and gave us more than a five star service. Eating here with friends and family was a beautiful experience.

Decided to try Black Bear Diner for our late lunch and we weren't disappointed! 😀 The inside is pretty cool and definitely bear-themed. And everything was so tasty! I had huckleberry lemonade, which, since a huckleberry is similar to a blueberry, it was no surprise that it tasted like blueberry lemonade but also a little like pink lemonade (which is a total fave of mine!) 😀

For my meal, I had the country red potatoes which came with peppers and caramelized onions, a perfect tiny bowl of chicken noodle soup (which had lovely egg noodles, celery, carrots and the best chicken broth I've had in ages!), and a secret-recipe sweet cream waffle.

Bro had one of their limited time sandwiches, We Be Jammin, and it came with fries, which were delicious.

And then for dessert he HAD to get a bear claw (😁), but we also got cheesecake to try (and she nicely put the raspberry syrup and freah strawberries separately, so I could try the cheesecake by itself ☺), and I swear it tasted exactly like our fave cheesecake from our youth that we've never had any other cheesecake since taste like! Uh-ma-ZING! 😀

And then I had the Huckleberry ice cream for dessert and it was so yummy. Perfectly smooth and creamy and the prettiest purple color 😍 Now we're stuffed and we've got half of everything (except the ice cream, lol) as leftovers to take home!

Our, watress Cynthia was amazing. She catered to our table. She checked on us the hole time we were seated. She made my breakfast experience 😋

Affordable and delicious food! Love the service and how clean it is. Love going for breakfast and enjoy it every time. They never fail to satisfy!

I have been to other locations and I am happy this one taste the same. Great food, nice feel, nice waiters, good prices. Gary is the best waiter. He was fast, accurate, I never had to ask for a refill, or try and flag him down because something was missed. Another great experience.

We decided to check out this place for dinner.
I ordered the blackened salmon and it was so salty and over seasoned I was not able to eat it, the mash potatoes and gravy were extremely bland I could taste the flour in the gravy.
We also ordered the meatloaf and that was the only thing that was decent and the ice tea was OK.
The vegetables were alright.
