Vadnais Heights Commons

I just photographed a wedding at Vadnais Heights Commons this past weekend, and it was an incredible experience! From a vendor’s perspective, Shannon, the coordinator, went above and beyond in assisting not just the bride and groom, but working with the rest of the vendor team from answering questions to helping us with anything we may have asked, and she did it all with such a willing attitude. The space itself (both outdoor and indoor) is beautiful as well!

This is a beautiful location. They now work with Jimmy's Food and Drink for events. Because of my experience with a small party, I do highly recommend this team. From coordination to execution, it made for a great 81st birthday party for our senior ❤

Spend some time talking to event staff, you won't regret it!

My husband and I had an amazing experience with Lorah and Shannon. The planning process was easy and the wedding day was perfect. As the bride, I didn't do anything besides get married and enjoy the evening on the day of. I had not one thing to worry about because everything was taken care of by everyone involved there at The Commons.

The venue is beautiful, the vendor options are phenomenal, especially Noah the DJ and Molly for food, and the people who work there are ontop of everything. Our guests were extremely happy and everyone we've spoken to has raved about how nice of a wedding it was.

I'd highly recommend.

The Vadnais Commons was a perfect place for us to have my daughters wedding. It is a spacious but warm location with windows on two full sides of the main reception area. The entry and cocktail area is beautiful with the fireplace and, in December it had a beautiful tree with white lights where many guests took photos. Through the use of vendors, Grand Designs and Flore Inspired, we transformed the room into an elegant, breathtaking experience for our 265 guests. Creative Catering worked wonders with the food and we got many compliments. Spicy Meatball took amazing photos and also as the DJ kept the guest dancing until the very end. Photo booth Creations made an amazing guest book and Walter Mueller Studio has awed us with the wedding video. When you visit Vadnais Commons it is important to keep in mind how it will be with everything set up and how you can build your own vision. We loved it and so did our guests.

As a wedding photographer, I LOVE working at Vadnais Heights Commons! This venue is a hidden gem. It is beautifully maintained inside and out, and provides many unique photo opportunities with a gorgeous lawn space, flowers, and the building itself has great textures. VHC is conveniently located in the northern suburbs with a nice parking lot and hotels close by. And finally, the fabulous event planners Lorah & Pam will make sure your day goes perfectly! I love working with wedding venues that are easy to communicate with -- as wedding vendors it's our job to all work together to make sure all of the details of your wedding flow seamlessly throughout the entire day!

I've photographed several weddings at Vadnais Heights Commons and it's become one of my favorite venues. The staff is amazing to work with and the space is filled with lots of natural light. VHC also has some great indoor/outdoor space for large parties and it's just always a pleasure to work here.

Everything about the venue is amazing! It's absolutely beautiful, spacious, and is a wonderful space to host a wedding. A couple things that are hard have to do with things the city has in place. They are very strict with what you can and cannot do within the venue. As long as you are flexible, it is fine but some things may be hard for some couples (no glitter, etc). Also, on top of the general venue fees they also charge a 12% venue fee for the food, beverage, and decorating caterers. So it is 12% of the food, beverage, and decorating costs which are also separate from those caterers service fees. Just a lot of fees that add up in the end. Beyond that, Lorah and her team at the Commons are great to work with! They were very knowledgeable and fairly prompt in answering questions or concerns that we had. Amy worked with us day of as our event coordinator and she was marvelous. She stepped in when needed and helped the day run smoothly! Overall, a great experience!

We had a wonderful experience at this venue! It was so beautiful & big! We had the option to do an outdoor or indoor ceremony and ended up going with an indoor ceremony, which was perfect! Shannon and Lorah were amazing to work with- 10/10 recommend! We are so happy with our decision!

My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at the Commons and it was gorgeous- we received so many compliments about how beautiful both the ceremony and reception was. Our wedding was in December, and the floor-to-ceiling windows as the commons were perfect for us to watch the snow falling outside :). Lorah at the Commons was incredibly helpful in planning the day, helping us changeover the ballroom from ceremony to reception and giving us vendor recommendations. She thinks of everything! I would highly recommend VHC to brides looking for a more modern venue that you can personalize to your taste and style!

My husband and I had a great experience at the Vadnais Heights Commons. The venue was clean and beautiful and the staff was friendly and high energy. Communication during the planning process was effortless. Lorah (the wedding coordinator) was super easy to get ahold of and offered sound advice along every step of the way. When we first booked our wedding reception at VHC, we were given a list of “preferred vendors” to select the various necessary services from. That list was super helpful, and it made our planning so much easier! There were suggestions that could accommodate all budgets, and the vendors worked with us to make sure we were able to get what we wanted for the price we were willing to pay. Our wedding reception panned out exactly as we had imagined, and we would HIGHLY recommend the commons to anyone planning a wedding!

This was the very first venue we saw and we were absolutely amazed by the huge space, the natural lighting and the beautiful outdoor space for the ceremony. My husband and I were so impressed with the team at The Vadnais Heights Commons. Lorah, Pam, Kathleen, and Judy are the best of the best! Our day went according to plan, so smooth, and we couldn’t have done it without their help! We received so many compliments from friends and family alike, on how perfect the venue was, it was breathtaking. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a natural-feel, romantic spot for their wedding! We absolutely loved every minute of being there! 5 stars for sure!!!!!

The Vadnais Heights Commons was a wonderful venue for both our wedding ceremony and reception! The venue is gorgeous with it's wood interior and large floor to ceiling windows. We were blown away when we first went to look at the space and knew we needed to have our wedding there. The venue has space to hold small and large parties. Our wedding was around 250 people which was a perfect size for the space. The staff at the venue were excellent to work with. They helped check-in and had several meetings with us throughout our planning process to make sure we were on track with everything. Emails and questions were promptly responded to as well. The day of the wedding everything went so smoothly and our on-site coordinators were great! I highly recommend taking a look at the Vadnais Heights Commons.

With our large number of guests we were limited to venues for our wedding, but as soon as we toured VHC we knew it was the perfect fit. We had to do very little for decorations since the building itself is very beautiful. It’s large windows and fireplace were two of my favorite parts. With 350 guests it still seemed spacious, and the large area they have for the dance floor was full all night. Pam, our event coordinator for the day was awesome and everything went just as planned!

We had a dreamy wedding at the Vadnais Heights Commons. Our coordinator was organized and thorough, which made the day run smoothly. We received many compliments about the space and flow of the day. This venue also works with Donatelli's catering, which is amazing food! It was a great party!
My only suggestion is that you check-in with the venue about their decorating rules. We brought our own candles for the tables only to find out (the day of the event) that they did not meet fire-code standard. We could have easily prevented this if we had known beforehand! Make sure your coordinator informs you about their guidelines.

We LOVED our 6/1/19 wedding at Vadnais Heights Commons! Pam and team met with us many times leading up to our wedding to make sure all of the details were thought through and covered. They are easy to work with and have vendors to recommend or you can bring in your own. The day of was fantastic!! If anything went wrong or was out of place, I never knew. They event had drinks waiting for us at dinner. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a modern, private, approachable venue!

Vadnais Heights Commons was amazing!! My husband and I had been to two different wedding receptions at the Commons prior to our wedding. We knew based on the other weddings, we had to have our reception at The Commons! It is simply beautiful, with floor to ceiling windows around the majority of the ballroom. We worked with both Lorah Palmer and Pam Rickard - amazing! They made sure the night went perfect. I have no complaints here! I would highly recommend looking into The Commons for your wedding reception/ceremony. I hope to be back soon!

We were so happy with Vadnais Heights Commons for our wedding venue- Lorah and Amy were amazing planners and so kind and helpful. Planning our wedding amidst COVID was stressful and they were incredibly easy to work with. The space was beautiful and was able to accommodate a lot of people safely and comfortably. The larger main hall area looked so pretty for both our ceremony and reception and we loved it so much!

Awesome venue and staff! A great venue for a wedding and ceremony. Lorah Palmer one of the event coordinators is not only organized and detailed she will make certain the entire planning process runs smoothly and stress free. The venue itself is reasonably priced and you can pick and choose a vendor that fits your budget and your personal tastes. I loved the 30 foot ceilings, window and fireplace. The grounds are impeccable and there are some great areas for photos.

Vadnais Heights Commons was the perfect venue for my wedding! Its no only very pretty but the people working there were so nice and easy to work with. Lorah who you meet with several times was very informational and always kept you on track on the wedding planning. Amy the wedding coordinator went above and beyond to make my wedding perfect!

Wanted to follow up finally on writing a review for this place I have been to a couple weddings here and my most recent experience deserved a 5 star review vs. me procrastinating and pushing this off. I wanted to specifically call out how amazing the staff is at the Vadnais Heights commons, they are really there for the wedding party to make sure everything runs smoothly. I have been in the wedding party and also attended as a guest, this place is perfect! the staff made me feel very welcome as a part of the wedding party and you can tell they knew exactly what they were doing even at the end of the night when everyone was all partied out they even help with clean up so we can focused on heading home. Another example that really made me want to write a review was, I had a friend find a diamond wedding ring in the parking lot and turned it into the building host which then turned it into the city hall. sometimes you can ask your self would someone try to keep this for their self and not forward it on? really good to know there are good people out there that are just trying to make sure you have the best experience possible. if you choose to have your wedding at Vadnais Heights Commons make sure you say hi to Laura, Don, Dave, and Judy.
