I just picked up my wedding dress from Hickman Tailors. When I purchased my dress it was about 2 sizes too small. I was so worried no one would be able to let it out enough to fit but it turned out so perfect!!! Truly I could not even tell any alterations had been made. It was also very affordable for what I needed done. I was surprised that I had to pay at my first appointment as opposed to when I picked it up, but I don't have things altered very often so maybe that's just how it works. The appointment system is pretty casual, which I am okay with but just a note. I was so relieved when I took my dress home today I almost cried tears of joy. I definitely recommend ! :)

I had some jeans altered here and they did a fantastic job! They were done in just a couple of hours and the pricing was very reasonable for the quality of work done!

Please listen carefully: if I could get this place 10 stars I would. If I could take this business with me across the country wherever I live I would do it. Not only is there work neat clean pristine and perfect, but the customer service I received from them left me in tears of absolute joy and happiness. They took care of me like I was their own. If even for a moment you hesitated and couldn’t decide which tailor to go with, I am personally begging you to only go to them because if it is your special event, Hickman Tailors will be the only ones that will actually do it right and give you an experience that you will forever be grateful for, forever. They have definitely gained a life long customer from my end.

I brought my dress to a different tailor originally and she made it too tight, altered the bust incorrectly, and completely my bustle wrong. I brought my dress to Hickman Tailors 3 weeks before my wedding. She not only fixed all the issues I had previously, but made it look more amazing than I could have every imagined. She fixed all the issues very quickly and had my dress ready for my wedding. The quality of work and attention to details is absolutely incredible. I will never take my clothing anywhere else!! To top it all off, she is incredibly affordable and charges such a reasonable price!

My husband took a coat he received as a gift to have the sleeves shortened. They had to do the interior liner as well and move outside velcro straps on the outside. They had to shorten all of the sleeves at least 6 inches. They did an outstanding job. The stitching looked just as professional as it looked when he received it. Would definitely recommend them and will definitely use them again. Pricing was very fair.

Mrs. Tong is very kind and flexible with her scheduling as well. She does great work for a very reasonable price. My family has gone to her for general tailoring for years, and she just finished my wedding dress, too! It looked wonderful and fit like a glove. The bustle she made was beautiful and she did it all after taking the dress in 2 whole sizes. Highly recommended!

This woman is a very talented seamstress. I came to her for a major wedding dress neckline alteration off of a recommendation from a coworker and after many other seamstresses told me what I wanted could not be done. She simply works magic and does beautifully what others can't. Her prices are also very reasonable!

I lost 25 lbs and wanted to salvage work pants. She took in the waist on 3 pants, 1 skirt and a jacket. This was all done in a week for $90. I’m very happy with the quality of the work and the quick turnaround. I could have gotten sooner but 1 week was fine with me. I highly recommend using this tailor.

I had my wedding dress tailored here and I can't recommend it enough! As many brides are, I was very nervous when choosing someone to tailor my expensive, special dress. She was instantly able to tell what needed to be done and executed the alterations carefully and perfectly which included taking in the bodice, hemming the bottom and adding a bustle. My dress was done on time and the price was very affordable. I will be using Hickman Tailors for all of my future alterations! Thank you!

I came to Hickman Tailors to have my wedding dress altered. They did an amazing job and listened so carefully to what I wanted. I highly recommend to anyone looking for alterations.

My sister told me about this place so when the zipper went out on my authentic (overpriced) Cubs jacket I took it to them to replace it. They put a better zipper in and at a great price. Other places I checked wanted almost as much as the coat cost me new. After this I took my North Face winter coat to them and, even though they were swamped, they worked me in. I will take all of my repairs and alterations here.

I was so nervous to have my wedding dress tailored, because it has a lace and beaded bodice with multiple layers of delicate organza for the skirt. The bodice needed taken in and the skirt needed to be shortened quite a bit. I was blown away by the service during the consultation and when I picked it up last night, I could not have been more pleased. I cannot believe the price they charge for the perfection they achieve. Come here if you want it done right - the price is just a bonus. I will be recommending them to everyone I know!

This woman is a wonder. I have been a client for several years, taking in pants, skirts and a few shirts. I'm fairly petite and it seems no matter what size I buy, it has to be tailored or I look like I'm playing dress-up with the adult clothes. She's always done a fantastic job with fast, perfect service and the prices can't be beat.

Recently, I purchased a lace wedding dress and decided to forgo the outrageous bridal salon alterations pricing and see if Hickman Tailors could do the job. Her quote was WAY BELOW anything I found at several bridal salons I checked with in town and I was a little nervous because this job required taking off most of the train, shortening the dress by several inches, taking in the hips, waist and bust, resetting the bustline and making sure all lace and appliques stayed cohesive. Bridal salons will tell you regular tailors can't handle the complicated work that bridal gowns require and I'm sure this is the case for some tailors-but not for Hickman Tailors. In about 11 weeks I went back to try on the dress and it is PERFECT. Completely, totally perfect and about $600 cheaper than the quotes I was getting from bridal salons. It fits just like we talked about, it's the exact length we discussed and the lace and appliques are exactly as they should be. It's exactly what I envisioned in my mind and while I knew from past experience that she knew what she was doing I had never taken such a big job to her before and was a little apprehensive-this was not a quick cut and chop on a too-long satin dress. This was a lot of complicated work, as I kept hearing from numerous bridal salon seamstresses. I will never doubt this woman again and will take anything and everything I need tailored her way for as long as she's open for business.

I realize this is a glowing, no-faults review, but in 7 years of doing business with Hickman Tailors I have never been let down. The prices are insanely reasonable, the turnaround time is generally very fast and the work is impeccable. She knows the human body so well she even helps with any ideas or thoughts you have, suggesting things that really make a garment work well for your body. I cannot recommend her highly enough and have no doubt that anyone who trusts her with their clothing will be equally impressed.

Thu and her sister are absolutely amazing!! I have used them multiple times for different needs and they continue to amaze me with their quality workmanship, creative ideas, quick turnaround, and the price is so unbelievable!! They are the best and I would trust them with anything!!

I brought my bridesmaids dress here and they did a great job!! They had to tighten the straps, bring it in at the waist, add cups, and shorten it. Tried it on when I picked it up and fit like a glove!!

I just went to Hickman Tailors for a bridesmaid dress I accidentally ordered 4 sizes too small, (the sizing chart on the website was completely inaccurate) and she did an incredible job altering it!!! Not only did she make a dress BIGGER, when most places tell you it's impossible to do, you can't even tell! And not only that, you was EXTREMELY well priced!! She is also very flexible on the time frame! I highly recommend Hickman Tailors! She is a wonderful, kind, local business woman!

Hickman Tailor has recently relocated to a much larger space at 6720 Hickman Rd Windsor Heights. I have used them for years and have never been disappointed. The work is excellent and the ladies are super friendly! Would highly recommend.
