I liked the dining area best of all. It had a neat atmosphere. Food was good, very reasonable prices. Fried rice was a level above the usual.

Wonderful food. We each got an egg roll and shared a sizzling rice. The egg rolls were the best we've had anywhere, and the rice was plentiful & tasty.
Plus, you get a free pot of hot tea to drink throughout your meal.

China Kitchen is located in the heart of Shepherdstown, WV. From the moment you walk into this establishment, you can feel the vibe that it is an authentic Family Owned Chinese Restaurant. I was greeted by the owner and her, I assume, her daughter. Welcoming people and quaint atmosphere.

I ordered the items that are typically harder to make the right way and the reward of getting it right is amazing. They captured the essence of the Spicy Bean Curd (Tofu) and the egg drop. The wonton soup tasted great, they must make their own wontons.

Overall it was a great meal. Definitely recommend.

I go into China Kitchen pretty regularly as I'm in my senior year at the nearby university. My advice is get the lemon chicken. I dunno what they put in it, but it's seriously delicious. The fried rice is also consistently good. Lunch prices are really reasonable and portion sizes are just right (for me anyway).

Also, as an aside, don't believe reviews from white people saying the older Chinese ladies in these places are rude. The proprietress is extremely friendly with regulars; I've overheard her asking after people's jobs and children. It just took like a year for her to warm up enough to feel comfortable exchanging chitchat with me. If you need a friendly American smile everywhere you go, only go to American restaurants.

Food had very good flavor. Impressive spice level. Generous portions.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've eaten at in this area of the country. The Chef/owner is excellent, and their menu is quite diverse. Their hot and sour soup is probably the best I've had anywhere.

A few years ago I would have given them a 5+ star rating, but it seems to me that the consistency of their quality has slipped slightly in the last few years and the food just hasn't had the same (consistent) wow-factor for me. That having been said, China Kitchen is still better than any other Chinese restaurant (that I've tried) in the greater Hagerstown-Martinsburg area.

Also, very fast service, and reasonably priced. Extensive lunch (special price) menu.

Visiting family in town and our experience was exceptional. Food was hot, fresh, well seasoned, and flavoured. Service was quick and friendly. Haven't visit in quite a few years but will visit every time we're in town.

I eat here a good bit. Prices are good. Portions are huge. The wait staff is always super nice and polite. Very attentive. The owners are amazing. I love coming here.

Simply good Chinese. I've never had a bad experience here in 10 years. The owners are sweet and loving people and they care about their customers.

It is the best Chinese food I have ever tasted I highly recommend if you get the shrimp with garlic cooked in at the hibachi and eat it with me fun.

Visited Shepherdstown for the week and absolutely loved this place. The service was very kind and accommodating for our takeout request and my girlfriend and I loved the food. Thank you!

First time eating the food here and my entire family agreed that this is the best Chinese we have had since moving to Harpers Ferry. Will go back!
