Washington Square Bar & Grill

Definitely check this place out! We've been here a couple of time, always in the winter for some reason, and have never been let down! The service from the hostess, to the servers, the bartenders and the manager Travis that checked in on us were all extremely friendly and accommodating as we had our 3 little ones with us. This bar/restaurant has a very cozy and warm feeling (I absolutely love being able to take my coat off and not freeze in a restaurant in Minnesota winters). There is an awesome wood burning fireplace that really adds to it's charm. If that's not enough there's a large selection of local artwork throughout each room.
There's a huge outdoor patio for all your warmer weather dining needs and it is dog friendly! Rumor has it this summer they will be offering a doggy menu for possible "Yappy Hour"specials!
Back to the food, it's amazing! The menu is the perfect size to offer a great variety without compromising quality and taste. We had the 100% Angus burgers that were cooked to perfection and served with perfectly seasoned fries. The buffalo wing appetizers were cooked to have a slightly crispy outside and juicy inside without being sloppy like other wing establishments. We didn't have the fajitas but saw and smelled multiple orders of them whiz by us and will definitely be back to try them.
There are plenty of beers on tap and a full bar that will have anything you might have a taste for. I had a blood orange margarita and it was spot on! Coincidentally that happens to be the only picture I took of our meal.

We had a great experience here. The atmosphere created by one of my favorite architects, Michael McGuire, is on point. Our server Olivia (Liv) is excellent, very attentive, and our bartender Ally is one of the best. Makes great bloody mary's. Highly recommend!

Our dinner out was WONDERFUL because of our amazing server, Emily. She missed NOTHING from re-filling water glasses, to getting our order JUST RIGHT -- including our request for no seasoning on the fries. Super Customer Focused, Professional and thoughtful. Our Burger and Southwest Salad were great as well, but Emily made this experience REALLY nice.

Complete honestly, I wanted to visit Cobblestone which was closed for a few days. I found this place open and I had parked my car right opposite to it and I am so glad cobblestone was closed and I got to experience this wonderful restaurant.

Great options on the menu for breakfast, brunch, beverages. Since it was still cold out, one thing which stood out of the fireplace with nice heat coming from it made it just perfect.

Have been here a couple of times now and the food has been amazing each time. The atmosphere is comfortable and wait times not long. Had the kids with and they all actually ate their food. Will certainly be back.

Stopped in to grab some dinner with the wife and son. It was a super nice day so we wanted to go to a place that had a nice patio in WBL. This was not our first time here, but we did all order something new.

The patio is awesome. Definitely worth checking it out if you want to sit outside.

The food options are also good. Mainly burgers and bar style options. The fried pickles are awesome and they get snatched up quick. The cajun style chicken sandwich was super good. My wife ended up getting the Quesadillas and it was huge with many sides. My sons go to for many places is the buttered noodles, and he definitely got a much bigger portion than most other places.

Great spot to check out near the lake or if you're downtown WBL for anything.

Solid, dependable, great spot DT White Bear. Love the cozy atmosphere in the bar, glad cheese salad with blackened chicken and Italian Pinot Grigio.

This place is beyond great! The service is beyond fast (everything came out within ten minutes) and the servers were very friendly. The food was perfectly warm and tasted stunning. I would go back here every week if I could.

Washington Square has been (and continues to be) one our “go to” restaurants in the WBL area. It’s got a great menu and a nice vibe. One of the best patios in the area! Great service at reasonable prices. I highly recommend it.

My 6 year old and I love going to Washington square grill. My go to dish is the pesto grilled cheese and they accommodate my gluten allergy! The service is excellent and the ambiance is wonderful.

The patio allows dogs which is always a plus for us dog lovers!

Great location downtown White Bear Lake. The food is good and their patio is really pretty when the weather allows. Atmosphere is great. Real wood burning fireplace in winter, TVs for the game and comfortable seating. Staff is polite and attentive. Parking can be tough since it's in a really busy, small town shopping area.

GREAT atmosphere. Excellent service. Great food. Price is good for what the quality and quantity of food you get. I haven't tried the burgers here yet but the breakfast is ON POINT! The place is pretty busy so do expect them to be busy when it's busy. (Yes read that again lol) But anyways, service and employees did their best and we got excellent service. They do come around when they can. Food was good. Pancakes were delicious. Bacon was fresh! When it is busy, trying to find parking is a bit tough. But totally worth it. Overall, a great place for a first date or to hangout with friends/family. Would definitely recommend if you're in downtown White Bear Lake or passing by.

Great food and friendly service. We sat in the patio area which was quiet and a pleasant experience. We ordered cheese curds tots and a Reuben sandwich. All the food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The drink selection was huge with numerous draft beers and specialty cocktails. A great dinning experience and we will be sure to be back.

First timer at this cute restaurant. Besides the great atmosphere with live music during dinner, our bartender Madison made it that much more fun and was so attentive! Will be back for the cajun shrimp BLT and the great company!

Thank you for keeping your prices reasonable! Great patio and atmosphere. Highly recommend the southwest egg rolls as an appetizer. We will be back.

They never fail to deliver on delicious food and solid service. We all had omelets for breakfast, which were made perfectly. We love the woodfire in the main dining area and just cozied right in. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars on service was because it seemed to take quite a while for our server to come back after we got our food. We were out of coffee and water, and were pretty much finished eating and had to wait for our check, which just felt long, and it wasn't packed/busy. Maybe they were short staffed. But still overall a great experience.

Date night at Washington Square by the wood burning fire. We enjoyed some ice cold cocktails and delicious appetizers. The service was grand and the atmosphere was calming. Will be returning again soon.

Very cute little spot!! Wonderful outdoor patio which has a super quaint feel to it. In addition, the inside and bar area are super comfortable- reminds me of a top shelf small town establishment. Very clean orderly, staff was approachable, kind, helpful and courteous. Had the tuna pattymelt and cheeseburger with fries and a Caesar salad. Delicious l. Will be back!!

There are so many menu options, even as someone who’s gluten free and vegetarian. The staff has always done a nice job and I know I’ll get a good meal for a decent price.
