La Quebrada Aurora Restaurant

Legit and authentic Mexican food. We went there on Feb 14 and now this place is the only one in my list for Mexican cuisine in Aurora. For us the portion was little large but when the food is delicious I don't mind overeating 😀

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food this is your place. We went on a Tuesday evening for dinner and it was amazing. The food is so good and fresh the service is amazing. I have been here on a weekend in the past and the atmosphere is great they have mariachi playing. I had Cecina estilo Guerrero and it was amazing with their home made tortillas which for me were the star of the show. Do yourself a favor and go try them out.

Very good restaurant did not like my conversation with Gentleman at the register with the hose in the white shirt with a pink tie. It was a great man three very well good food, good shrimp cocktail and great friends and your experiences. Enjoy the wonderful place. 15 years I’ve been coming.

The food here was so good. Loved the atmosphere and music too. I met up with my cousins and they both really enjoyed it. Everything had so much flavor and the food came quickly. Chips and salsa were tasty too. I ordered 3 Asada tacos with beans and rice. My cousins both got the carne asada dinner. We ate it all so fast! Definitely will be back. Had a wonderful waitress too!

By far, the best Mexican food in Aurora. Nice clean and friendly place right by the river. Fast service and delicious food. They even have homemade corn tortillas. 10/10, highly recommended.

This is legit, authentic, and delicious. Easily top 3 meals I've had in a restaurant. Margaritas were good and this dish was incredible. Such a savory sauce to pair with seafood and cheese. If I were local, I would have this weekly. Ten stars.

Just moved out this way from Chicago and La Quebrada was just like the food I grew up with on the southwest side. I went on a Saturday night and the place was packed which was a good sign to start.

I always judge a Mexican restaurant by the al pastor and theirs is phenomenal. They also boast some of the best salsa, great horchata and my wife really enjoyed her steak torta.

I don’t believe I’ll be going anywhere else in the area for Mexican food again and I can’t wait to go back already.

Food was amazing!!! Best Mexican food I have had in months. Servers were really friendly. Hot salsa with chips, which I love. I cannot recommend this place high enough. You will not be sorry to make the drive.

I want to say thank you to the restaurant and staff for accommodating my family at the last minute at such a difficult time. You gave us comfort that afternoon that will not be forgotten. Seriously, thank you.

Okay. I'm white. My husband is white. I get it, we kinda stand out in a Mexican restaurant in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. But my husband had this amazing jalapeño margarita in Ottawa a few weeks ago and was itching for something similar.

We live pretty close to La Quebrada, and they had good reviews. Being a Mexican restaurant, we were hoping they had a good selection of margaritas.

The waitress was very nice, but unfortunately, they didn't have anything like what we were looking for. So he ordered a mango and I got a strawberry.

She dumped a ton of chili powder in them.

Like, a ton. There was a literal pile of chili powder in the center of the mango margarita. She even lined the glasses with chili powder. It was the most disgusting tasting thing either of us had ever tried.

So why am I rating them 5 stars? Because of the eagerness and good intentions behind the very poor decision making. We believed she was going above and beyond by recreating what we were looking for with chili powder. We drank the entire thing for fear of making her feel bad. 🤢

On the way home, I realized she might have been messing with the white people with weird ideas who happened to stop in on a random weekday. In that case, I still rate them a 5 for the sheer ballsy-ness of it. 👏

This is a must go to for great mexican food and service . I always order the Tempequena and shrimp dish . My husband loves the Tempequena with Chiliquiiles .

The food is great! It's reasonably priced for what you order.

I recommend a parillada, I shared the seafood/beef one and it was overflowing. Loved the chorizo the most, I think it might be made there bc it wasn't too spicy, not oily and just delicious all around.

My mom tried the mixed.seafood soup but the fish was too.fatty. (it's to be expected when you eat catfish) otherwise the broth and shrimp.in it was really tasty.

The seafood cocktail was really good too.

The restaurant is very clean, they are following recommended capacity so it might be a wait (well worth it).

Tacos were huge and our server was great 👍

Great food, great service, reasonable prices..packed house...short wait usually to get in especially on weekends...but they move quickly to ensure great customer service

I'd been wanting to check this place out for some time. Every time I drove by, it was always busy. Now I know why, I think it's the best Mexican food I've found since coming to Illinois nearly 10 years ago. Authentic. Highly recommend!

Pretty authentic taste and feel

I love this place. This is my 2nd time here and the food is so good and the tortillas are homemade which make it perfect. Get the chilli oil on the side to go over your food. #delicious 😋
