My husband and I went to De La Terre for a belated Valentine’s Day celebration and had a wonderful time! The ambience was lovely. Well decorated, tables were not crowded, easy to hear conversations and perfect lighting. Everyone was very friendly, and service was prompt but all the food was well timed. We never felt rushed to finish a dish to make room for another.

Our amuse-bouche was a morel mushroom stuffed with goat cheese, and a wonderful start to the meal. We ordered the french onion soup, tuna tartare, and beet salad to start. All were the best version we have had. The tuna tartare was bursting with flavor, and the goat cheese ice cream was a wonderful added touch to the beet salad. For mains, my husband had the halibut and I had New York strip with blackened cabbage and a mustard sauce. These were also both divine, perfectly cooked and so flavorful.

All in all, we had a lovely time and a fantastic meal. We will be returning!

My husband and I dined here for our anniversary this past weekend. I typically use a cane to get around but recently had a major surgery and require a rollator walker to get around. We let the restaurant know ahead of time and they said it would be no problem, they also let us know where to park closest to the ramp. When we arrived they were fully prepared and had multiple people waiting to open the doors for me. They sat the two of us at a four top with one chair removed so my rollator could be next to me. They also sat us near the restroom so I wouldn’t have to navigate through other tables. Our server, Matt was kind and incredibly attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. We chose the prix fixe menu and evening was amazing. Each dish was somehow better than the last.

So many experiences I have had are difficult and uncomfortable for me, and I just want to thank the staff from the bottom of the heart for making me feel at if my disability was no big deal. I truly cannot recommend De La Terre enough for the experience and removing any and all anxiety I had surrounding experience! We can’t wait to
dine with you again!

We have been looking forward to dining at De La Terre for a few weeks, and are very pleased! To have a higher end dining experience like this in Downingtown is welcome and refreshing. Right from the start, including how we were greeted, seated and treated we knew we were in for a wonderful time. The atmosphere is pleasant, tables are spaced out nicely, and the decor all added up to a great time. We could hear our own conversations at the table but not those of the other diners. There was a perfect balance of ambience and low level music.

The staff was attentive, friendly, smiling and knowledgeable. You can tell these people know how to run a great restaurant. Our food was all perfectly prepared and served in a relaxing pace. Our appetizers included oysters, escargot, and the cheese plate. Our main courses were the king bay salmon, the gnocchi, the venison and the duck. All delicious! Every detail from the initial champagne toast to the little chocolate treats and French press coffee at the end were perfect!

Go and enjoy this new and exciting establishment! Such a treat compared to all the other mediocre places you can find everywhere else.

Go here while you can still get a reservation, this place is going to book-up fast once word gets out. My wife and I went here after reading about it on a local forum and it was phenomenal!
From the bread and amuse-bouche to the coffee at the end of the meal, everything was delicious!
We picked a croissant and brioche for our bread- light, fluffy, buttery, amazing! The amuse-bouche was a sweet potato base with a foam and candied pecan… excellent.
For appetizers we got the beetroot salad and escargot. Both were unlike any escargot and beat-root salads we’ve ever had in the best way possible.
My wife ordered the duck and I got the steak frites. My wife said it was the best duck she has ever had! The skin was crispy, the meat was cooked to perfection (let the chef decide how much your duck should be cooked, don’t order it over cooked!).
My steak was cooked perfect (rare- as it should be), and the fries were thin, crispy and the perfect complement.
The deserts were the perfect end to the meal. The flourless chocolate cake with a mango sorbet and passion fruit topping was rich and tart, not overly sweet. Perfect. The crème brûlée was easily one of the best we’ve ever had, outstanding. The coffee was excellent as well.
All of this was made even better by the incredibly attentive and courteous staff! Our server, Caitlyn, was open and honest with her suggestions and seemed to delight in the opportunity to help us have the best meal possible. She was great. The rest of the staff was equally attentive and were laser-focused on making sure we had a great meal.
We will be back, if we can get a table.

We found this place accidentally and made a reservation for our Anniversary dinner. We were very impressed by the delicious food and great service. This place is definitely going to on our favorite list. Each course of food was perfectly prepared and presented.

Hands down The BEST French Restaurant in the tri-state area! The fact that they can deliver high end French cuisine while incorporating locally sourced farm products and brands to the menu is truly amazing. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and professional. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they’re putting out..

100% recommend for not only the amazing food but the experience!

Eat dinner there last night. Exceptional food. I've had the privilege of dining at Michelin starred restaurants around the world and De La Terre is on par. Feel extremely lucky to have this restaurant nearby in Downingtown. We had the set menu and all the items were superb, flavorful, and perfectly plated. The duck preparation was superlative -- imo better than the duck finale at eleven Madison park (prior to its current vegan iteration). Service is fantastic, warm, and inviting. Recommend highly! We will return soon.

Been there 2x and food has been amazing and very consistent! The escargot is to die for, the salmon flavorful. Lamb - it was so tender and good. Deviled eggs - omg. I could go on! Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

Delicious French food and wonderful service. The complimentary champagne and amuse bouche was a very nice touch. We had the eggs, escargot, steak tartare as appetizers and the duck and the gnocchi as entrees. With crème brûlée for dessert. All delicious! A few photos of the yummy dishes.

Absolutely outstanding! One of the most delicious and decedent meals I've ever had. Service was impeccable, they brought amuse-bouche and a sweets sampler on the house and started us off with some house 🥂 champagne. Just incredible!!

My 12 year old son wanted to try escargot. My sister in law, who speaks French fluently and has spent much time in France, booked us a table for tonight. The restaurant is lovely, smelled clean and inviting as soon as I stepped in. The ambiance is pleasant without being stuffy or conceited. They bring the food to you with such great timing that you have time to enjoy every dish. Every dish was roll your eyes into the back of your head delicious. We had the escargot, tuna tar tar, a salad (didn’t catch which), foie gras, and then our respective entrees, and espresso and creme brûlée for dessert. It was the BEST creme brûlée I’ve ever had. I had a lemon and cheese pasta for my entree which was delicious. They make the pasta in house. The place is pricey but it’s the kind of place you go for higher end cuisine eaten at a leisurely pace. I would definitely make my husband take me here. What a gem of a restaurant right here in the heart of our little town!

This is “drive to Philly grub” at Downingtown prices!! The worst thing my wife and I had during dinner tonight was really excellent. The best was one of the best bites I have ever eaten. As good as any world class chef, like Keller, Jose Andres, Francis Pascal, and Nick Elmi.

I don’t know whether they do this every night, I was only there once. The ratings seem really high. All I know is this crew put out top of the line food at a very fair, expensive price point. You get way more than your money’s worth.

The service was friendly, perfect, and invisible. Top of the line Front of the House staff to go with amazing food.

What in tarnations are you waiting for, make a reservation!!

EXECPTIONAL! Probably the best restaurant in the entire area and I would say in the top 5 of all restaurants I have ever been to. This includes my experiences in Paris. The food is beautifully presented, detailed, amazing flavors, and a total feast for the senses. The vibe is upscale French and spotless. The staff is exceptional. We visited for a group dinner of 8 and everyone was raving about it afterward as one of the best meals and experiences they ever had. Creative and unique food. Good portions and food you will not find anywhere else except perhaps France. While most are used to low quality, huge portion, bulk prepared food a giant prefab chain restaurants by people who really don't care what they are putting on the plate; this is not that. This is unique, not a place to stuff yourself, but a place to taste amazing flavors with fresh unique ingredients that takes you on a culinary journey. I purposefully tried things on the menu I had never had just to experience some new flavors and I was blown away. Sorry to go on but I am a total foodie, used to be a chef, been to France numerous times, and I hope people who want a culinary experience and to try new things go here. Take a couple bottles of wine and try some delicious new foods. This is an experience not to be missed!!!!!

Best dinner in Chester County. Might be because of the perfect service we got from the Chef, Kitchen, & Service. The bite of Wagyu on a crispy garlic bread & light opening toast set the tone for New Year weekend dinner that set the tone for a year of culinary joy.

Get the deviled eggs & eat them with your fingers.

I gave 'Atmosphere' a 4 but it's ok for it to be about the food & Chester Cty will destroy anything that isn't bland in some kind of way. So let the walls be bland & the food be grand. 💯

By far the best restaurant in Downingtown and one of the best in Chester County. Food was amazing, service impeccable, dessert over the top. Hope it stays around for a long time.

We’ve had the pleasure of dining here more than 10 times since it opened (which is more than once per month).

The experience has always been wonderful and the food delicious. Upon arriving, you should be seated momentarily and the tables are well-spaced.

Once seated and while perusing the seasonally-changing menu you will be offered a complimentary toast of sparkling wine. It’s always welcome and a nice touch.

The food is executed perfectly, it’s one of my favorite things about the experience, no matter what I try it’s divine.

It’s the perfect place for date night and you don’t have to go into the city to enjoy fine dining!

We had a truly lovely experience tonight. Our server, Sarah, was attentive and the food was phenomenal. My husband loved his onion soup and my cheese plate was delicious (and much more than I could eat). The scallops were outstanding, and the complimentary Eclat chocolates with coffee were a very nice touch. We will be back soon!
