Great place to keep your skills up. Well stocked store. If they don't have what you're looking for, they can probably order it for you.

Drove by this range many times before I decided to stop in. I wish I had stopped in sooner. Nice and clean. The employee I spoke with was knowledgeable and friendly. The range is clean and well lit. No steel ammo, which seems to be the case at most ranges I go to so not a big deal personally. The few times I have been here it wasn't super crowded and range fees are good. Parking is a bit awkward but far from a deal breaker. I actually prefer this range over the overpriced national franchise ranges. Brought a few friends and they all enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this range.

Well-priced range, but somewhat limiting on what you can shoot (no steel-cased ammo, no 'head shots' on paper targets). Clean, maintained, and short wait times.

General lack of ammo for purchase compared to larger ranges, firearm selection also is sparse but you can find both new and used items that might not be at other shops (hit or miss). Decor and traditional style are nice, and this is now my go-to range due to the cheap $10 range fees.

Originally gave this 4 stars but I have grown to love this range. The guys working here are friendly and this shop seems to be a close-knit 'family' - I appreciate that in a small business. Although the have strict rules on what you can shoot, they are laid back and seem to just be protecting their business. I'm now a regular here

Great experience. Was trying them out this past Thursday (Ladies night) cause I normally go to another range I wasn't happy with. The employees we're very accommodating and were very informative when showing a friend their selection of handguns. They seemed to really focus on customer service. The range area was well ventilated. The store front was clean and organized. Just a great experience and I'm definitely making them my go to range from here on out!

Nice range. Went there today for the first time. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. Clientele was also nice and well behaved. Ammo price was reasonable although selection is limited to common cartridges. No 45 LC for my Judge.

They offer a range of classes from first time CHL to advanced tactical. Prices are good. I'll be taking a class there soon and will try to drag my wife to an intro class for women.

Overall, well run, well staffed facility with a lot to offer.

Place was great! Staff was friendly, range was well lit and place was will kept. Place had a good mix of ethnicity and everyone was treated nice. Had ammo and guns to purchase if you'd like. Definitely making this my new range to go to. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I went shooting today and had a great experience. My husband actually bought out our first firearm with staff Andrew's help and we decided to try out the range. Helpful staff and clean. We will be back.

I was looking into buying a handgun, so my brother visited to take me to try out a couple of his. Sportsman's Outlet was the closest range to me, so we decided to go there. I am sure glad we did! The staff was very helpful and friendly when we arrived. I was also amazed at how reasonable their prices were at the range. I had read reviews from different ranges where people reported how much it cost to shoot, so I thought that we would be spending a mint for as long as we were there, but it was not expensive at all!

After my first experience at shooting, I knew I was ready for a pistol but had no idea where to start. The gentleman behind the counter let me hold several guns to experience the feel of them and explained the different things to look for and consider. He knew that I was not going to buy one right then but still took the time to show me many different types of guns to hold. That is a class act right there!

My brother ended up buying me a handgun that evening. After how wonderfully helpful they were, my one regret is that he didn't buy it from Sportsman's Outlet. That being said, I do plan on taking lessons through them and using the range many many times. Also, when I'm ready to get my CHL, I will get that through them and will also get the firearm I plan to carry as well. Great establishment!!

I completed my CCL course here. As an Army veteran I can tell you that the course informational and engaging. The instructors were professional and humorous at times (which definitely helped calm many of the shooters that were nervous about the exam). I highly recommend taking your course here. I also noticed their competitive gun prices. I did not buy a pistol but they were very friendly with letting me try/handle several pistols they had on display.

Cool place to shoot and close to home. The free target is nice versus having to pay for any targets at Carters. Once you get the vibe of the folks that work there it is pretty easy going. Been there several times and has been great so far. A smile, "how are you today"or "have a nice day" would be nice every once and a while though, just my 2 cents. Def will be back soon though.

Of all the local gun ranges I've been to, The Sportsman's Outlet has been my favorite. As far as the range, the prices are reasonable. They don't charge by the gun (big plus to me), I don't think you have to use their target papers, and I've always been able to get right in (and out) without any hassle. If they require you to shoot at their range to buy ammo, I completely support that! With ammo being so hard to come by, I appreciate being able to buy what I need when I need to.

I have only had positive experiences with the staff, the faculties seem clean and well kept, and they offer the cheapest CHL classes I've seen in Houston so far.

I highly recommend this place.

My wife and I visited the range last week on ladies night and found out we couldn't use it because it was being used for police academy training. This was not a big deal, but it would be nice if they posted it on the website. My wife, 13 year old son made it on the range the next day for the first time and had a great experience; everyone was helpful and very friendly and even bought a new pistol while we were there. We plan on trying the ladies night again very soon.

My first impression/experience (5 or so yrs ago) was not a friendly one.
Fast forward to 2017, I decided to go in and only purchase a speedloader. The staff on hand was so nice and friendly that I decided to give Sportman's another chance. 👍🏼
I've been back countless times with all staff being friendly and helpful. Even giving pointers to help me be a better shooter.

I will always return when awesome service is provided! Keep up the good work

Love this place. Friendly, clean, and affordable. Hardly ever find places like this. Will be a regular customer as well as my friends when I get them in. Great little storefront for loading up, gearing up, and looking at various used firearms. Best in the area by far.

I went there today. Nice place, good staff. I liked the range it self because it is well ventilated and easy to work. Note to self bring own eye pro. Lol They do provide it but just bring your own. Do what is expected of and asked of you and you'll have a good time.

Been here about 5-6 times in last couple of months almost every time the customer service has been great and friendly. Today one of the employees was really rude. Shorter guy with a goatee. But I won’t let the rudeness of one employee lower my rating for this place because it is usually a very nice range to come get my practice in.

A very nice and clean indoor shooting range. The staff working there are very helpful with a wide range of targets, ammo, guns and other shooting equipment.
Special shooting days, classes for different needs in the defense area to help us all become better.

Small gun range, but very clean, they have a hand wash for afterwards. Reasonable price, ammo kind of high, and they have big selectionof fire arms. (Never been here back then like some people, but i just moved to this side of town and this will be my new gun range. .)
Perfect for your pistols, but not so much for your bigger fire arms. But for that i go out doors anyway

Just moved to the Houston/Summerwood area. I'd driven past this place several times & finally decided to drop in to have a look see. My boyfriend had already mentioned that one of my Christmas gifts this year would be a firearm. I already own & shoot a revolver but have been interested in a semiautomatic for a while. Well, who knew today would be the day that I'd get one?!?! Immediately upon entering the store, the two gentlemen at the counter welcomed me. One asked how he could help I explained why I stopped in & he lead me right to my new baby. After a brief look & a phone call to my honey, I became the proud owner of an Angel Blue PK380 (the last one of that color in the store). As luck would have it, it was on sale along with a great gift with purchase. Andrew & the other guy (sorry I didn't get his name) were 100% professional, courteous & patient. I've been to many privately owned sports shops over the years & most often the staff can be condescending, unfriendly & abrupt know it alls; especially toward women. But not here. Andrew took great care of me & treated me very well. The other staff member engaged
me in brief converstion while Andrew did my backgroud check which took about 5mins. They both were appreciative of my business & having worked in customer service for more than 30yrs, that's a BIG DEAL for me. Nothing worse that being treated like crap when spending your hard earned money. I haven't used the range yet or taken any classes but TRUST me, that's next on my agenda. The retail store is modest but has lots of variety for a marksmans shooting needs. I'm eager to get back over there & use the range.
