Very pricey, the clubhouse is small and a bit old, BUT, it was a first time experience for me and once you get onto the course you then say ok wow this is worth it. Immaculate conditions and the service was A1.

(Late Aug 2022) Only been a golfer for ~3 years but I could tell this course was well run and in fantastic shape. Definitely a slightly challenging course. Overall though, I really enjoyed playing here with my buddies who are all long-time golfers. Fantastic way to start a weekend in Newp

We had the BEST experience here at Newport National! The course was beautifully maintained and the service could not have been better. The cafe was fantastic for lunch also- highly recommend getting out here if you’re in the area!!

I played Newport National in September and the course was in perfect shape. We arrived early and took this picture as we got out of the car. The perfect start to a perfect day.

The course was in great condition and the staff was awesome! Group in front was a little slow and the head pro came out himself to pick up the pace. You can tell the difference in a facility when leadership cares as much as the head pro here does. Looking forward to playing here again next time I’m in town!

Great golf course in great shape. Play was a little slow, but the staff was super nice and course was in great shape. This was the first true rectangle shaped green I had ever seen so thought I would share.

This is the best course in Rhode Island, if not New England(I've played Newport CC and Carnegie Abbey). Only problem is there is no driving range. So, you go down the road to Green Valley, also a nice course(way better price) hit a small bucket, drive back to NN and have the best round of golf you'll ever have. It's that good. Played 50+times. Love this course. I will belong some day.

Booked a large group 16 of us for a pre-wedding day outing with all the guys. Dan Hall was very responsive to any and all questions I had. I actually played a round the day before to get a feel for the course before all the guys showed up. The cart girl was the food and beverage director, she heard we had a group going out the next day early and asked if we wanted breakfast ready. Not only was it ready it was perfect! This group nailed it. Highly recommend.

What an absolute blast!
You’ll read reviews about the club house but it’s temporary. They are working on that side of things week by week.

Now, if we’re talking about the course- incredible! Was visiting from San Diego and was very pleased with the condition, layout, and play. Service was great too!

Fine dining served on paper plates. This place is absolutely beautiful. Service was great. Helpful pro staff. Bartenders were attentive. Cart barn staff was funny and the assistant super, David, was a pleasure to talk with and very professional.

If you only have one round to play while in town Newport National is the place to go. Nothing but love for this course. I can’t wait to play it again.

Played today by myself and got paired with a nice couple. The course is in amazing shape. The tee boxes and fairways are like carpets and the greens are in great shape. The links style layout is very challenging and there are not many good places to miss. Greens are challenging and bunkers can be deep. In my opinion it was worth every penny. I wish I played a little better but had a great time. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the course is top notch. Swipe, insert, or tap that card and earn some reward points! You won’t be sorry!

Wow. Course was in incredible shape. Small details like the mulch around plants, the trimming of even OB. I try to play a few times a month and I’ve played all across souther New England and Myrtle Beach and this is easily one of the nicest best courses I’ve played. It’s difficult but can be forgiving. One small side detail, the carts are the most comfortable I’ve ever ridden in!

The pace of play got backed up because of a couple knuckle heads on 17 and the ranger drove around to each and every group and explained why and apologized personally. Most courses would of just had you deal with it. It’s not $60 for 18 but you 100% get what you pay for. Definitely check it out

I've played a number of courses across the country, Cabo, and Hawaii. This place is a treat, in my top 10. Addressing some issues with previous reviews.

Slow play -- believe they've fixed this with new carts with GPS that track speed of play and allows the management to fix slower groups. We teed off at 10:00 on a Sunday and finished in 4 hours, 15 min.

Green fees / value -- I payed a weekend rate of $150. For the course conditions and experience, I would say it was worth it. Maybe the higher fees chase away less serious players who play slower, thus helping speed of play. I've played many of the bigger name courses out there. Conditions yesterday were about as good as I've ever seen. Reminded me of Spanish Bay with the layout (minus the Pacific Ocean view). I actually preferred the conditions to SB.

Lack of amenities, etc. I came to play golf so I didn't care how much $$$ was pumped into the pro shop facility. Finally, someone spending the money on the course instead of the clubhouse.

The carts were awesome - gps, etc but also the most comfortable seats I've seen on a cart.

Staff was great, no issues...

Lunch at the turn was great as well with a variety of options.

Pictures do not do this course any justice. We have public golfed 43 of the 50 states and this is the #1 course yet! Fairways were lush and immaculate, filled with challenging and sometimes frustrating bunkers. This course may appear “wide open” but it’s definitely challenging. Thank you Chris (mgr?) for the beautiful day of golf

The course was in great shape. The tee boxes were immaculate. The greens were prefect. Everyone I met was friendly and respectful. I got moved up to the next group since I was a single so I didn't get the chance to see the practice area although I was surprised to hear there was no driving range.

I'll be back and I recommend this course to anyone.

Just played last week of August, pace was decent except for a few par 3s, course is in great shape. Carts required but are newer with GPS and course map. Small clubhouse with deck with food & bar service. Cart service on course for drinks. Courteous staff to help you enjoy your round.

Great staff, great course. Greens are just right they will hold with a good solid shot. Can't wait for driving range! Only downside.
