I had one of my top three meals in the Triangle at this restaurant. Everything about it was impeccable. The service was great. The cocktail menu was inventive (And if you like spicy ask for something with a ghost pepper tincture). The menu possesses a nice range, And I love that the portion sizes are small enough you can order more than one thing. The squash salad was one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The bartender talked me into dessert, and it was worth every calorie.

We had the chef's tasting menu and everything was outstanding. I also had the wine pairing and I just loved all the flavors, textures, temperatures, the whole experience was great.

2nd time here, we did the chefs tasting menu, (both times) and some of us had the wine pairing. Both times everything was wonderful! The pairings went well and I can't say enough about the wonderful flavors of all the dishes! The service was good even if a little disconnected from the guests.

Truly exquisite culinary expression! The milieu was perfectly complimentary to enhancing the entire dining experience. The service was exceptional. The cocktails were uniquely and expertly crafted. Every course contained a precise presentation and portion that appealed to different parts of the palate. The combination of colors and flavors created a work of art, that was invigorating to all of the senses! The balanced mixture of subtle and bold details pulled everything together in the most satisfying manner. Every sip and bite was a true celebration of creativity and highest quality.

Pricey, yes. Delicious, yes. Don't go if you aren't willing to spend a small fortune, but the chef's menu (5 courses for $75) was absolutely delicious, unique, and well-balanced and the wine pairings were on point. There are
some less expensive options if you go with the regular menu.

My husband surprised me for my birthday with a small dinner party in a private dining room at Oakleaf, one of our favorite dining spaces in Carrboro. The chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings did not disappoint! We enjoyed a fine meal beyond our expectations, perfectly cooked and served. Thank you, Oakleaf staff for a memorable evening!

Go here, get the tasting menu, and spend the next few hours savoring wonderfully prepared food. Simply, the team at oak leaf is creative in their dishes and consistently plates up beautifully cooked dishes.

If you've ever gone to a restaurant and thought "I could make this at home", that won't happen here, the level of execution from the kitchen through to the servers makes for a truly special dining experience.

The cozy atmosphere lead us into delicious and thoughtful libations. The food was amazing and prepared with intention. Stevie was a delight. He was knowledgable, personable and had perfect timing throughout our stay. This is our new go to restaurant.

Took my wife for her birthday and after a brief moment of "can't decide" on all the great menu choices, we agreed to go for the chef's tasting menu and didn't regret a thing. Every course was perfect. A great variety of tasty foods, but small enough portions to enjoy it all through the evening. Service was very helpful and kind. Atmosphere is noisier than I'd like, but as they say, Carrboro is Paris of Piedmont, and this is right up there in our Top 10 of all-time meals with a couple from that city in France.

The drinks are very good. The food is very tasty but the portions are small. Very friendly staff and great athmosphere.

We went to Oakleaf to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and are so glad we did! We were planning on ordering the chef’s spontaneous tasting menu. It was graduation and Mother’s Day weekend, and it turned out the chef had taken the tasting option off the dinner menu since it was going to be so busy—but he made it for us for the occasion! Very kind and not at all expected. But we are so glad he did because it was absolutely delicious. It included 5 courses and 3 mini-courses and we got to try homemade ravioli, duck, and steak, among other things. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. They sent out a candle and a little note with dessert, which was a thoughtful touch. We will definitely be back—soon!

The one thing I noticed that could be improved is the ability to make instant online reservations, like through Resy or OpenTable or a similar software. Right now you fill out a form and then they get back to you via email to let you know if they have the time you want available.

It’s great to dine at a restaurant where the food is created and cooked - not just heated up. High quality ingredients, clever combinations of spices and herbs, and very low sodium so you can add salt to your liking. A nice fusion of down-to-earth and honest food with a clever touch. The kids meals are healthy - but at 10$ priced on the high side. Some fleur de sel and a pepper mill on the table would have rounded up the good impression.

Food was and is always exceptional, however; the service tonight was horrible. My wife wanted to take me to my favorite spot to celebrate my birthday. The server was completely disinterested in serving. no refills, no banter, no explanation of menu, no water, literally dropped menus on the table and walked away only to return and ask if we had decided. This happened for the meal and dessert. My kind hearted wife decided to at least leave some tip but it was not deserved nor was it what we typically tip. too many other options in the area to suffer through this lack of service.

My husband and I came here tonight for my 30th birthday, and we had a wonderful time. Great wine, great food, great atmosphere, and great service. They even brought me a birthday card at the end! We'll definitely be coming back in the future!

Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner and had the best time- definitely the perfect place for special occasions!! I ordered the lemon tagliatelle and it was incredible, but all of our entrees were excellent. The specialty cocktails were creative and delicious, and we also ordered a few different appetizers (mussels, charcuterie, salads) and they were great as well. The service was just as awesome as the food - our server was so helpful and fun- I wish I remembered his name but this was a couple months ago :/

Nice place for a casual but excellent meal to celebrate my big 4-0. They did not have a tasting menu as others suggested. However, the service was excellent as was the music. The lettuce salad was fantastic, the butter for the bread was perfectly salted, and the bolognese was very good. This is the best pasta I've had outside of the upper east coast. I recommend this spot for celebrating a special occasion or if you are just craving good pasta.

Had an absolutely amazing experience here, the service was spectacular and every course we delicious. I especially loved the two pasta dishes I had.. will definitely be eating here again!

Very nice modern setting in an otherwise ordinary strip mall with an outdoor patio in the back. Great new American cuisine with fantastic appetizers, pasta (truly nice pasta like in Philly), and delicious entrees. Also great cocktails and some nice liquor. I had a nice Espolon Reposado tequila after dinner. Playing on the lot or in the garage by the hotel so not difficult at all. Definitely will be going back!
