Mr. Lin Chinese Restaurant

I drive 20 minutes to go here. It seems to be the best tasting in the alabaster Helena area. I've tried 8 in the area. Mongolian beef and beef & broccoli pictured. But Mongolian beef and general tso chicken are the best to me. 🤔

Food is excellent, they make the best hot sour soup in Shelby County, I always get their dumplings and been getting their lo mein! My folks love their happy family, we always get carry out and their portions are very generous! It's definitely my go to spot, their dining room is very clean and usually busy when I go in. Pictured is happy family with double order of rice.

This was my go to chinese in Helena. It is just good overall at a good price and the portions are big. I often make two meals out of it. Its just good fairly inexpensive chinese food.

Fantastic business. Food is delicious. Large portions & very fresh. Staff is courteous and very helpful. I've ordered multiple times over the phone for take out and it was ready when I arrived less than 10 minutes later.

Very attentive staff from the moment you walk in, no matter how busy they are. They make you feel like family. The food is excellent. My wife used to go here when she was a kid. They remembered her after ten years past since she had been there. We drive nearly thirty miles to go here and it is well worth it.

The taste on the food has changed a lot, but I have realized that the previous owners are not there anymore even though I have been told many times that she is on vacation and that she is coming back. I really think it is just under new management and of course new cooks which there's nothing wrong with that, I just personally liked the taste of the food before.

The food is amazing,I get the house lo míen or Mongolian Combination with fried rice it’s truly amazing. I get it during lunch time before 3pm because that’s when they give a egg roll and a hot and sour soup with the food. They are welcoming, I haven’t had a bad experience, I’ve been going for a year now. So far so good!

Great place. I'm not a huge fan of this cuisine because most cut corners and use inferior product to make food. That isn't this place! Everything was fresh and flavorful and I didn't feel sick after eating there.

One of my family 's favorite places to meet and eat. There is room to eat-in although mostly its take out traffic but still those ladies keep us well taken care off. The service is great!! The crab Rangoon are my favorite!

Such a good comfort food spot when craving Chinese food! Solid lo mein, chicken with broccoli, Mongolian beef, shrimp with snow peas, and crab rangoon (our favorite place to get them!). Highly recommended!!

Love the food here! Would dare to say they have the best Chinese food in Birmingham! They moved a few years ago and just recently found where they moved to. same great service and food as I remember from their old location.

Followed them to this location from their original restaurant - New China - in Hoover! Their food is so good even after all these years!

I’d suggest trying their dishes with “white sauce.” Also, if you like spicy, they will cook it into your dish which brings the food to another level!

Update 2021: still love to come and eat here when we’re back in Birmingham. We asked them to make a tofu and broccoli dish. It was phenomenal!

My new favorite Chinese restaurant. My old favorite Chinese restaurant turns out to be the same family that runs this one! I have missed their cooking since they sold the old restaurant. I FOUND YOU! Lunch was so good today! Thank You for continuing to provide us with such excellent sustenance. ♥♥♥ I will certainly travel back to Mr. Lin again even though it is quite a drive for me. If you want the best, go to Mr. Lin. If you are like me, make sure to order Extra Hot and Spicy! I feel so good after eating their food. With much love and respect.

I love this place!! Best Chinese around and literally the best soup. I've been a customer for over 30 years, to this family. They owned New China off of Alford and moved to Helena a few years back.

They know me by name and know what I like, but the food is what brings me back every time!!!

This restaurant is small but good. The serving size was fairly large. The quality of the food was good. I especially appreciate the crunchy stir-fried vegitables. We visited right at opening time and they were still able to prepare our food in a rather quick manner. I consider the price quite reasonable, especially considering the service size.

This is by far and above ANY Chinese resurant in Alabama! Small and intimate, the owners are always friendly and remember favorite meals of requlars while taking care of new customers like old friends. The food is AMAZING and plentiful. A ABSOLUTE MUST TRY!!

Great place with a very friendly and attentive staff. Food is on par with similar Chinese restaurants but this is the warmest welcome I've ever received from a Chinese place.
