Highly recommend for anyone that is not hauling any chairs or coolers. Ok if you plan a small picnic with blanket, umbrella, and a few sandwiches and drinks. Kids and pets should be able to handle the hike down and back up, just make sure you have the right hiking shoes and not sandals. Park in the parking lot and pay the full day, just in case you end up having a little extra fun. No life guard on duty and a bit rocky to get in the water.

Low tide is best for walking or hanging out at this beach. Great overlooking views. You can park on PCH if the lot is full or don't want to pay. Look for one of the three picnic benches at the top for a nice view while you eat. Path way is not maintained and steeper than average so pack light.
Pro-tip: during low tide (<2ft) you can take a long walk north to El Pescador (0.3 mi) beach or south to scenic El Matador (0.6 mi)

Great place for relaxing. Lots of rocks!
There is a small hike for the beach access so make sure to wear good shoes for the traction. The parking lot is good enough for 20 cars, which is good because that makes the place not too crowded. $10 all day parking or $3 an hour.
Give it a try, La Piedra Beach is a pretty nice spot!!
Playa La Piedra es un hermoso lugar para ir a relajarse y divertirse un rato buscando cangrejos y caracoles entre las piedras. Me gusto porque no hay mucha gente ya que no es una playa muy popular, pero en mi opinion es una playa muy bonita.

Steep hill to walk up/down to/from the beach. Rocky on the sides of this small beach within the middle (100yrs) for some swimming. Parking is for maybe 20 cars ($9 a day or 2 an hour.) but ample on the sides of highway. Porta toilets side of parking lot

Private and beautiful. You will hike down steep stairs then you'll end up at a ladder. Wear good shoes for traction. Be sure to leave the beach at sunset or you'll be in the dark and high tide. 😁🐙🦀🐚🦋

I love this place! Not too many people out there. It's not the most accessible. You have to walk down the bluff but there is a path and stairs. Dangerous if it's raining though. The beach has lots of rocks which means lots of tide pools. Really fun for seeing cool sea creatures or collecting shells.

La Piedra is a great park to go hiking and get a view of the Pacific. Make sure you bring comfortable hiking shoes, as the trails can be steep......but it’s all worth it once the view expands and you see the ocean.

Here is a good hint.....go near sundown. But leave yourself enough time to get back up to the parking lot before the sun is fully set......it gets really dark and thee is no lighting.

La Piedra Beach is kind of a hidden beach in Malibu. Parking spaces are limited by only about 12 parking spaces. The trail to the shoreline is also hidden. You can find it over the parking ticket machine. Please visit my YouTube to view my videos @breaktimebeach

Wonderful experience, requires slight physical activity to reach the ocean, but well worth it!

A beautiful small beach! Warning: access to the beach itself requires a short hike that could potentially be very difficult for an old or infirm person. The access path I used ended in a wooden ladder which would have been difficult for me to descend with my bag of beach gear if I hadn't had someone there to help me.

This is a very special hidden gem beach. You have to trek down a little bit, so you have to be able to walk and go up and downhill. Beautiful cliffs

Went around sunset on Saturday and we had the beach to ourselves for a while. Laid out a large towl and watched the sunset while eating some fresh cherries. (Sub for some other easy to eat fruit if they're not in season) We like to watch all the models and their photographers chase the sun as it disappears.

This beach is one of the best beaches for a sense of private beach ownership feeling specially in sunset time .
