This is the best U.S. Post Office Branch I have ever been to. The day I was there, it was pretty busy. They had four agents assisting the many customers. This is my favorite place to send mail and buy stamps. The building is historic. The staff at the counter that assisted me was outstanding! A SUPER HUGE shout-out to Alonzo, Lema, La La, Marlon, Frankie, Christy and Wister! They’re very pleasant, professional and should be promoted or considered for management✍ASAP. 📢

I'm posting this review because I was searching for pick up times on the blue mailboxes out front and couldn't find that information anywhere; so be sure to check out those pictures.
But I also mailed something and was impressed by the service I recieved and how cool the old building was. This place was built in the 30's and the quality of construction is amazing.
Marble is everywhere and the brass features are impressive.
I hope the US Post Office keeps this building!

Despite the homeless encampment around the building and the smell, the inside is a different environment. It's really big inside and feels old-school. The staff is what gives this location 5 stars. I have a P.O. box here and when picking up a package from the front desk the staff are always friendly and quick to assist you.

Good help, my 1st Global mail stuff. Am new to mailing global outside a a.i. system so it was like a historic document moment for me. Thank you.

One of the better Post Office experiences that I've had. Line moved quickly and staff was polite, thanked us each for waiting, and seemed interested in giving us each options. I left sort of confused...cause it should have sucked; but, didn't. LOL

Very beautiful post office with high ceilings from the New Deal Era days where Democrat President FDR got the U.S. out of a Great Depression with big government. The clerks are all very patient, friendly. They make every effort to answer the phone. Sta. manager is very pleasant; my letter carrier, Antonio is 1 of the best ever. in terms of being competent & pleasant. Any shortcomings from either side, we can be flexible in thinking that we are still in a once in a 100 yr pandemic. Thank you, post office at E. street, Downtown SD 92101 zip code :) God bless.

Every person I've been served by is very friendly and explains the process of the USPS services thoroughly for a newbie like myself who just purchased a PO Box for new business. I've had nothing but positive interactions with everyone by phone and in person. This is a great location, I'm glad I chose it!!

Such friendly staff! During the holiday rush, Susan helped me with 20+ packages.

She was super nice and helpful during the process, even though it took a very long time.

Other times that I’ve come, there’s a staff member greeting everyone who walks in and asks everyone what they need while in line.

I had to send out a package last minute and went during lunch time and everything from line management to the customer service reps was awesome. There was a gentleman who was asking everyone in line what they were here for and making sure they had the right forms and stamps. I really appreciate the cleanness and organization of this location.

This downtown post office is an adventure in that you never know how short or long the line is! However, no matter about that cuz you find yourself in & out in no time!! Handicapped Parking is close by! Employees seem happy and not capable of blowing your head off!! Haha humor

Awesome service here, everyone is kind and respectful. If you come here look for a nice woman named Susan, she'll take care of you. For the people complaining about a slow service sometimes, understand that the post office systems are old and outdated. If you have an issue go out and vote during voting season, the workers here can't do anything about it.

Christy was patient and was able to clarify why my particular request wasn’t simple to satisfy. And then I was able to figure out how to say it right and she help me get done what I needed to get done. There were eight people standing in line when I was done and it was my fault not her fault. Thank you Christy.

Great service, no long waiting in lines,places is clean, mailed a package off with one of the United States Post office special boxes along with excellent prices and insurance options. It comes with a tracking number for your convenience. Thank you USPS.

I don’t ever write reviews, but I had such a good interaction I was compelled to. Everyone has bad days, and people may have had bad experiences. But for me, it was great. Clean and staff was super helpful/friendly.

Excellent Experience! Professional, Friendly & Knowledgeable. The building is Phenomenal, Historic & Well Maintained. For the billions of pieces of mail that USPS receives & delivers daily I am always astounded that those I send out & receive find their way!! Always a fan of USPS over the other options!

I visited the post office today and was pleased with the customer service provided. The counter staff member was so kind and helpful. It's nice to meet people who care about your shipments and go the extra mile to make sure your taken care of and happy. Thanks

Historic art deco building, on outskirts of the East Village area. Full service with a cavernous interior. Lots of post office boxes. Surrounding blocks are a bit sketchy, home to a mix of agencies and eateries and lots of development. Worth a visit.

The people work exceptionally hard here and the prices are way less than Mail & Things where a $32 box was $9 at the United States Postal Service who deliver through rain & covid & dogs & everything else.

I've been using this post office since 2007 and I have never had a bad experience. Everyone has always been friendly and so helpful, and it's usually not crowded.
