I have been to Dr. Chepyala's office, he heard my situation and got all tests lined up. I was worried why are so many tests lined up, but it is all to rule out, possible diseases. Unity point has my chart web application and the results show immediately.
After 3 months I am now being treated with medicines for my ailment. While it is always possible drug interaction with other treatment related drugs is always a possibility, Dr. Chepyala carefully reviews everything. I am glad I chose Dr. Chepyala.

Terrible experience with this doctor. His bedside manner is awful and he missed my problem by a mile. I ended up suffering with SIBO for nearly three more years because he was incompetent. Avoid at all costs if you want to get better. The experience ended with me paying a lot of money out of pocket for a response of “you don’t have cancer” which I didn’t think I had in the first place. This doctor did nothing but cost me money and prolong my suffering. If they tell you he’s the only one available, refuse to see him and call the University of Iowa Hospitals.

Dr. Chepyala wanted my husband to have all these tests done and then start remicade and we told them no to remicade because of it crippling his mom. In the mean time my husband was seen in the ER for a crohns flare up and Dr. Chepyala decided well im going to refer you back to univeristy. Like there are other options out there besides remicade to give a person for treatment but instead of helping my husband now we are going back to univeristy. All because we wouldnt take remicade he wont help him it seems like anyways.

100% would NOT recommend! He wasn’t prepared for my initial consult, hadn’t even read my records. He didn’t listen to what was going on & after an EGD & Hida scan couldn’t get the office to return 3 messages I left for the nurse so I gave up & went to Mercy & that was the best decision I ever made!
