This trail is amazing. Great maintenance and lots of off shoots. The rock formations are absolutely breathtaking and the climb is easy.

(Must mention that all the water is underground now… which is a real bummer.)

Beautiful hike! The rocks are beautiful. I went in the early morning and the view of the sky on the way back was gorgeous. The trail is wide in most parts.

I've hiked here over 100 times. It's great because there's something to do in every season. You can find fossils here, find abandoned mines, relax by the spring, look for wildflowers on the east side of Y mountain, or even hike in the snow. It's popular enough that the trail gets packed down in the winter, you don't need any snow gear to hike here. Nice fall colors here too. I have seen Bighorn sheep here a few times as well. This hike also connects with a lot of other, longer hikes that go up into the mountains.

The rock climbing here is absolutely amazing and it is super close to campus. I come here all the time with people for just a quick afternoon climb. There is lots of good walls for people who are just starting as well as some walls that are way more advanced. There is a super nice trail that goes up the canyon as well. There’s also a drinking fountain and bathrooms at the parking lot which is a huge plus!

I love this trail. The cliffs are so stunning. I run up to the campground and enjoy the mix of forest, cliffs, bridges, waterfalls, and butterflies this trail has to offer. You can access Bonneville Shoreline Trail at the trailhead, or continue up to Squaw peak and other mountains.

What a beautiful hike. The path is clearly marked as long as you notice the rock that has "squaw peak" etched in it. The rock is on the ground on the left of the trail after passing the fifth bridge.

One of my favorite easy trails to hike. There are restrooms and a drinking fountain at the park where the trailhead starts, and two drinking fountains along the trail. The trail goes along a creek most of the way and there are five bridges that cross it along the way. I've seen deer, and occasionally rattlesnakes off of the beaten path, and I had a moose encounter just past the Squaw Peak turnoff.

Our little group managed to hike 0.9 miles up the canyon. This is an out-and-back hike that is much further than that, but the two middle-aged ladies were out of shape, so that's as far as we went. In July it's a good morning hike or a nice evening hike and we went in the evening. We started about 7 and the temperature was lovely. We turned around at about 8 and that was a good time because we had just enough daylight to get out of the canyon. This is a very gorgeous hike with lots of beautiful trees and rock formations as well. Lots of people actually go rock climbing with gear. We saw lots of people doing that.

This is GORGEOUS! It's slightly steep, but not bad. I loved hiking here. I wish I had known there was rock climbing there so we could've come prepared for that! There are seriously rock climbing bolts put in all up the canyon, and there are some good bouldering spots, too. Next time I'm in Provo, I will definitely be coming back here. If you really want to have an adventurous hike, I would bring chacos or waterproof hiking shoes so you can explore around the creek a little more.

Very Great trail takes you into the canyon, lots of cool climbers around and nice for an evening hike or morning jog. Very scenic

Fun hike with incredible views. Tons of rock climbing spots up here as well, if you're extra adventurous! The trail is mostly paved and not too steep.

Such a great hike!! I walked through a bit of this one monday afternoon and it was so pretty! There was some snow falling and everything was snow coated and looked so nice! What I didnt realize was how popular sledding is down this trail! It's a decent slope so if you bring a sled you have many great places to slide down in the winter. There is also a little cave a bit over a mile down that is really cool! Definitely will come back again!!

Beautiful hiking trail. There are places where you can rock climb as well. Also great for hiking in the snow in the winter. There are good camping spots along the trail as well as at the end of the trail. There’s a fork a couple of miles in, if you go left you end up on Squaw Peak.

This canyon is amazing. Super close to Provo, and some of the best climbing in the world can be found here. The 4th longest sport climbing route in the entire world is located in this canyon. Search squawstruck if you want more information about that. The mountain biking and hiking are both also excellent. I do have some specific recommendations for people coming here.

Parking: The parking lot is located at the mouth of the canyon. There is usually plenty of parking, Saturdays in the summer excepted.

Restrooms: There are male/female restrooms at the mouth of the canyon. These are pretty primitive, so be prepared.

Trails: There is a main trail going up the canyon, with many offshoots. Please stay on the trails and help prevent trail erosion, which is a serious problem here.

Safety: If you are climbing or biking, wear a helmet. It is not worth your life. Way too many climbers run the risk of serious head injury. Climb within your level. Also, exercise caution with the weather. It can get very cold, very fast, even in the summer. You gain altitude quickly in this canyon, and the majority of the trail is in the shade.

All in all, great canyon. Please take good care of it, leave no trace, and we can all enjoy it for years to come.

We only hiked up about half a mile because I had little kids with me but we had a really good time. The trail was easy enough for my one year old. It is such a beautiful Canyon.

This is one of my favorite hikes. Not just because it’s beautiful (though it is) but because it’s so easy to get to. Everyone in Provo is no more than 15 minutes away from this amazing hike.

BYU students shouldn’t be allowed to complain about how “ugly” Provo is until they’ve hiked a few miles of this trail.

Great bike ride. Really steep and very rocky, so it is a great bike workout. Lots of strava segments both up and down. Really good training.

So basically I have been here a lot, me and the bois just came here for a short hike the other day looking for caves. There are a lot of good climbing routes up here if you are interested. You also can access a large trail system from here. I kinda want to throw a ski resort up here some day because it is so beautiful.
