I had kind of an awful time here. I recently got back some genetic results that informed me I metabolize many kinds of anesthetic very slowly. I immediately recalled a disturbing experience I had with Dr. Reddy when he removed my left wisdom teeth.

When he was done I wasn’t awake yet. So the staff commenced with paperwork as if I was conscious; shoving things in my face, shaking me awake, and telling me to sign them whiles the anesthetic metabolized in my body.

They got me up and out of the chair walking me around. I remember waking up and being uncontrollably drawn to sleep while people held me up with my arms over their shoulders. It seemed like there was deafening wind all around us. And people’s voices sounded underwater. At this point the assistants are pushing a document in my face telling me to sign it. I couldn’t read the document or even keep my eyes open. They were moving me around like a puppet. I kept asking to rest a little more and the assistant kept saying no. At one point she tells me:

“You can go back to sleep after you sign this.”

So I signed it. I needed unconsciousness like a breath of air. I had no choice. I half thought it was a dream. They wouldn’t leave me alone until I did. I couldn’t read anything around me or communicate in any intelligible way and yet they insisted I do business in my drugged state. All of this when they could’ve just waited for the drugs to wear off 🙄 They could’ve just waited.
