The three miles leading up to the trail are super bumpy. You need to be careful if it just recently rained in the area. The road is narrow, and with the mud, you slide. There is no sort of guard rail or fence, so go slow. Take a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
The trail is great! Beautiful views! Moderately difficult trail with a combination of mud and ice. It is public land, so wear bright orange if in hunting season!

Absolutely love this trail! There's plenty of neat places to explore and the landscape is phenomenal regardless of the adventure you choose. There's lots of wildlife so keep a keen eye out for deer, elk, etc.

Road to trailhead is long and bumpy, don't attempt in car. Need high clearance. Bring bear spray. Hike is 8 miles long and trail is not well defined. Didn't actually hike past 20ft because there were several trails and no markers. Not kid friendly. Also saw a rattlesnake.
