Wayback Burgers

One of the best burgers and fries I have ever had! I also had an amazing milkshake. The whole meal was perfect for "fast food" style burgers The quality from the beef to the bun and the extras was outstanding! The staff were so nice and friendly as well. The chef came out and spoke to us and had a great personality and sense of humor. My dad visiting from NY raves about Wayback Burgers!

Great food, and very fair prices, but the best service you could possibly expect to get. Everyone who works here is so kind, friendly, and helpful, always not only willing but wanting to go the extra mile for their customers. I come here once a week or so on my lunch break from my job in old Lyme and they’ve all learned my name and how I like my food, it’s always hot and ready for me when I order ahead on the app and they service it with a smile and kindness. It’s rare to see such an impressively run restaurant these days, especially when it’s a chain, but these guys do it right. Special thanks to Lori who is the captain of this well run ship, she’s made customer for life in me!

Now hold on hold on, did I just give a fast food joint 5 stars? Yes, now let me explain. It's fast food. That's your baseline. A customer like my self is in a rush wants to get food and get out. Of course I'm expecting a run of the mill fast food place. WRONG! Super friendly staff and ya wanna know why!? They own it!!! Wonderful time at my quick lunch, place looks like it's brand new yet its been here for 11 years. It's a corporate location that's taken care of by the actual owner. He even cooked my lunch! I highly recommend coming here, it was $15 cheaper then 5 guys......

A+++ !!! We stopped here spur of the moment, and I am so happy we did! The staff was kind, accommodating and welcoming. The food was delicious! The restaurant was spotless. And this is going to be a place I now crave! We were already impressed with the food and then the owner, Lori, came to our table! She was so sweet and made us feel welcome and so appreciated. We will be back and are already planning what we'll have the next time.! Can't wait!! PS. I can't upload any photos because we ate it so fast! DeLICIOUS!!

First time year, and woah! I got the cheesy and it’s just what I was craving. The shake was ok, I wish I could pick my size. Tator Tots, bomb as always. Kind of expensive.

There is a Jake’s Wayback just a few miles from my house but I always end up going somewhere else. While driving through the area I stopped here and WOW! The grilled chicken BLT was cooked perfect, the ingredients were fresh and the service was awesome. Might need to make my local Jake’s a much more regular rotation. If they are all this good I’ll be a customer for life.

This is the best burger joint in old saybrook by far! Forget McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's!! Everything is made fresh! I ordered a cheesy and Onions ring and it was phenomenal! Besides the great and fresh food and shakes, the owner Lori and staff was also friendly and attentive! I will definitely be back!

Been there a few times and have been meaning to write a review for a while now. Staff is unbelievably friendly. Welcome you upon entering and very patient. I was with my toddler and niece today for lunch. Food was delivered to our table in just a few minutes. Fresh and delicious 😋 and what stood out the most at our visit was that the girl behind the counter followed me to my car because we forgot a toy. Very kind of her. Clean place too.

Never been. Yummy juice burgers. So filling. So prefect. Can't wait to go back.

Went here for the first time earlier in the week because I was working in the area. Really good burger, definitely better than five guys or other moderate speed chains. Girl working there was on her phone most of the time, but after looking at reviews, I don't think you have to worry about that anymore... Owner was nice when I came back.

First time here and the food was amazing! The real star of the show though was the customer service! everyone was so friendly and made sure everything was made correctly. Was even thoughtful enough to wait to make our funnel cake fries so they would be fresh after we ate our meal! will definitely be back!

Friendly and cheerful staff, and the restaurant is always bright and clean. Nice place to get an Impossible burger, too! Always a nice spot for a break in the middle of the day.

On vacation visiting my daughter, we decided to try Wayback Burgers. It was amazing! The service was quick, the food was amazing, and the manager & staff were both great. The Sweet Bourbon Bacon Burger was the best burger ever! Thank you for a great experience!

After the owner called and explained that it was grubhub that canceled my order and my food was actually made and waiting for me. She is a very nice person. I will be going and actually eating in the restaurant next time.

I tried Wayback on a whim with expectations and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service & the food. They have a great group of ladies running the place, loved their positive attitudes and welcoming atmosphere!

Lori the owner is great. This is the best spot in town for a great, fresh burger and fries. Everything on the menu is always fresh; always worth the trip.

Haven’t stepped foot in. Wayback since 2021. This location is awesome! The Manager is one of the most engaging and attentive people I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with. She definitely knows how to treat a customer. And the food is top notch. I had a classic with tater tots. And I could’ve eaten a mountain of those delish tots! I will be back soon and often.

Lori is just the best owner you could ask for. Food was OUTSTANDING, restaurant was as clean as could be. Did I mention the food was incredible?!? Will definitely be coming back soon!

Excellent service here! Me and my best friend always go here and Laurie and the staff make the atmosphere so comforting! LOVE IT HERE YAY!
