I’ve been going to Dave since he was a vendor for Union Music in Worcester. I moved here from New York and I was in desperate need of a repair tech or luthier. Dave has always been helpful, courteous, and most importantly honest. He’s excited for new challenges and is slowly admitting that he is in fact not just a repair tech but a luthier in the truest sense of the word. Currently he’s repairing my father-in-law’s 1926 Martin 2-17. He’s replacing the bridge with repairing the bridge plate and he’s using violin varnish to repair the surrounding finish. He has done all sorts of other projects for me that I’ve requested, such as but not limited to, pickup installs on acoustic and electric instruments, custom soldering, nut replacements, tuner replacements, crack repair and of course basic setups. Pricing is fair and most importantly, when he gives you a time frame he usually sticks to it. However, if he can’t honor the lead time, he lets you know ASAP and why. And he likes to talk all things gear. But, don’t be afraid to bring in your banjos, mandolins, or double bass. Give him a call. He’s good people.

As a musician, bringing prized possessions to a repair shop is a nerve wracking process. Having someone like Dave at D String repair your instrument is paramount to both care and repair of our stringed instruments. I can't say enough good things here, and i will continue to say more.
