First class family operation. I interacted with Fisher who assisted me with a nice selection of stone that perfectly fit my construction need. He was very helpful and even had my order delivered within the same day. I think the prices at Elkwood Stone and Mulch are fair and their location is an easy access from Route 29. I definitely see myself shopping there again. Robert delivered the stone and the large slabs exactly where I wanted them and was very helpful in getting them arranged properly. Great customer service.

The Garden soil you delivered today is BEAUTIFUL!! Smells so good and feels great! Was placed right where I wanted it and your driver was awesome! Thank you so much for being able to keep my delivery as scheduled with all the catch up y’all had to do because of rain earlier in the week. Can’t wait to get my veggies planted!

Great staff and super friendly. Office was cramped and selection of product was decent but not much variety.

Delivery is based on milage except for Saturday where it's $100 for 15 miles. I was 19 miles away and they quoted me $80. Stone and sand had great competitive pricing. Would recommend for your masonry needs.

I had a patio installed using a contractor (who shall remain unnamed) and Elkwood supplied the material. Because of that contractor, the project proved to be much more difficult than needed. Elkwood stepped in and provided guidance and communication when the contractor would not. Jay and Angie are stand-up people who provide good advice and good service.

Bottom line: Every outdoor home improvement should start with Elkwood. They can point you to reputable contractors and a lot of my headaches could have been avoided had I gone to Elwood initially. The materials Elkwood supplied were topnotch and their delivery was smooth. I will certainly go back to Elkwood for my next outdoor project.

I drove by Elkwood Stone and Mulch and saw where they had sod for sale. I pulled in and had one of the best experiences in placing an order and getting it loaded in around 15 minutes. Sales person was gong in the door when I arrived and ask me how he could help me, talked about the sod, he walked with me to checkout, and then he loaded it. Moral of the story SHOP LOCAL, SHOP SMALL FAMILY OWNED

Company is great. Super easy to work with and caring. We ordered gravel and it was not the right one, they came out the very next day with the right gravel, laid it and let us keep the wrong one. Works very well with their customers. Would recommend to anyone!

Super helpful staff. Friendly. Great resource. Just go in and ask. If they can’t help you, they will point you in the right direction.
We bought silver travertine with the bullnose edge to line our steps. We were very satisfied with our purchase. They have nice stuff and at a good price. We later ordered a custom size for the travertine and they were able to get it to us in good time. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about this company. I called on a Thursday morning and spoke to Angie. She was very helpful. I placed my order and they were able to come the same day. I got a call when they left the quarry and the driver was there 30 minutes afterwards. I asked him to dump a small pile at the beginning of the driveway and then spread the rest of the stones up the driveway. He did exactly what I asked. Our driveway came out better than expected. I highly recommend this company. Oh, and they are very reasonable. I priced the same stones at different company in Culpeper they wanted $500 for 16T delivered while we got 18T delivered for $492.

Outstanding service. When I drove up the yard worker ( sorry I forgot his name) told me to just walk around and check everything out .
When I had a question about the compost he was right there to help me out.
You can get mulch, topsail or most anything by the yard , 3/4, 1/2 yard.
Found the best topsoil I have seen in a long time.

Had a great experience ordering bulk topsoil here. They custom mixed it with compost for us. Super professional both at the sales and delivery end. Will be back for any other stone/mulch/soil needs.

We got a load of mulch from them this spring. Not only did they have the best price for the Culpeper area, but they were also great to work with and had lots options for landscaping materials. We will definitely be using them again.

14 Stars!! 10 from me and 4 to make up for the 1 star review. I have been dealing with Jay and company for 5 years. Mostly with their high quality mulch and topsoil. Very reasonably priced, professional, helpful and courteous.

As for the one star review, I have found in my experience that there are always two side to a story and an individual that leaves a one star review, typically tells half truths and begins with omissions. Fact, a heavily weighted down truck sinks in wet soil, tires puncture on tree stumps and transmissions get ripped out.

There are so many holes in Chris Le's story. If you where were Chris, why was the gravel dumped in the wrong spot? You must have approved the location. I know, the driver jump down from the truck, threaten you bodily harm and then dump the load on you! Come on, get real! Jay, you are the BEST! and just remember, you can't win them all.

Recently had Jay there help me match up some stepping stones that no one else had. I enjoyed that not only did he have the thicker better stepping stones but the price was better than any where else that was selling the cheaper stuff too. Was very helpful in loading it too. Thanks Jay

What a nice experience, friendly staff and willing to take time for a novice like me. I know i needed mterials but not sure of how much and how ro get them. What a relief, I was nervous going there to start not knowing what to expect. I recommend 100%
