Winterberry Gardens

First visit on one of their last days open. Great happy pleasant and helpful staff. The inventory was still epic and they were the only place I could find who still had mums in our area this close to a religious holiday.

Well stocked, vast varieties with a knowledgeable staff! We've bought many trees, shrubs and flowers and have been happy with our purchases. Prices can be a bit high, But! we always have gotten the value that we paid for

Stopped in to browse but had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. So many plants, so little time. I can't wait to go back and explore the rest!

I’ve contracted with Winterberry the past two years for their fall clean-up and spring service since I originally hired them to trim back some extremely overgrown 7 foot+ tall hedges. Their service is exceptional and they’ve always removed all debris from the yard when they are done. Their prices are reasonable and I’ll definitely continue to do business with them on a yearly basis.

Update: Two years later and the review stands. Winterberry is still my landscaping company if choice and will continue to be in the future.

Just had irrigation installed and I honestly cannot say how much I appreciated working with this company. Jason and Addrian were so patient and willing to work with us throughout the entire process including every time rain delayed install. We are also using Winterberry for lawn care services and have so far had nothing but great experiences. Worth every penny!

This fall I had my lawn aerated and over-seeded by Winterberry's Lawn Care department and the guys did a wonderful job. Once the staff finished seeding I asked them about proper care for my newly seeded lawn and water is key! I watered every other day or so and my lawn looks fantastic!! Next year I will signing up for their lawn fertilization program to make sure my lawn continues to look great!
Also, their garden center always has beautiful, quality plant material and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Will continue to use Winterberry for all my landscaping needs.

I work for Plants Direct Transport and I deliver trees here from southern NJ and Maryland, and I enjoy every time I come here. The guys (and gals) are so awesome. Even at 6am they all seem genuinely happy to unload my truck and they do it with such speed and efficiency that I'm out of there before I know what happened. Always a joy each and every time.

Winterberry Gardens has a great selection of annuals and perennials, arguably the biggest catalogue in the area that I've seen. Whereas most places will carry 1-2 of the most common variets Winterberry would offer 5-6 of the same genus. They also have a great replacement policy on your bigger purchases if you plant them properly but have some bad luck. You pay a bit of a premium for the experience but if gardening is a passion it's worth the few extra bucks in quality and selection.

For the first time in 47 years I hired a landscaper. I purchased eleven 7 to 8 foot Arborvitaes from Winterberry Gardens in Southington and realized I couldn't do the planting myself. Donny and his crew, from Winterberry Gardens, did the planting with expertise and great care. The crew was polite, very respectful and very careful around my property. They did a thorough job making sure I was satisfied. When the job was completed they left the yard as if nothing had been disturbed. I realized I needed one more tree for the effect I wanted and it will be planted next week. I am confident that I will have the same quality work as previously done. I cannot say enough about the staff and crew being professional and courteous. It's great to be able to depend on a company to have your best interest at heart.

Although we did not make a purchase yet I just wanted to say that Marina was very helpful on the phone and in person. She went out of her way to show us several things. We'll be back thank you

If you are looking for a single plant, a whole new landscape, or just a little inspiration Winterberry Gardens is the best place to purchase from. The staff is incredibly knowledgable, the selection is vast but locally sourced (so you know it has a good chance of hacking it around here) and they stand by their products with a warranty for one year after purchase. Sure, you may find some of these varieties for a few dollars cheaper at Lowes or Home Depot, but you also run a much higher chance of losing the plants to neglect (before you even got them) and getting no reimbursement. You'll end up paying one way or the other, I think it's best to do it once and do it right even if it costs a few dollars extra.

I've ended up redoing most of my flower gardens with perennials from Winterberry over the past two years. All but one plant has been successful (with over 25 purchased) and the one that bit the dust was replaced easily and at no cost to me. Listen to the staff, most will give you tips on how to plant and maintain your purchases... and this isn't Joe from plumbing that's working a day in the garden center... it's a professional nursery employee.

Lots of variety. The expected level of "pricey", but not exorbitant. Very friendly staff. Beautiful gardens & displays. If you're looking for top-quality (you get what you pay for) landscape trees/shrubs, there are many to choose from.

My experience with Winterberry Gardens has been phenomenal from start to finish. We use their irrigation team to handle all our sprinkler maintenance, and their design team to select and plant all our flowers. Recently, I tried their new organic fertilizer, Organiscapes, and have been thrilled with the results. My lawn is much greener and it's not harmful to our dog. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great landscape company.

Over the past decade, I've bought trees, perennials, & annuals from Winterberry. The quality had always been excellent. The staff are informative & friendly & have always been willing to take the time to answer questions.

Had winterbury transpant some trees from over part of the property to another and plant some new ones. Phenomenal job all around from the planning to the execution. Me favorite part was the care they took to not mess up my gravel driveway and my lawn. Highly recommended, worth every penny.

Awesome area, they have so many different options. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is beautifully arranged and well kept. Will be coming back for future projects
