Wild Morel

I was in town to MTB for a few days, and I heard good things about this place from the locals. They didn't steer me wrong!

I arrived just after it opened up and grabbed a seat at the bar. The building is clearly a former house, but the first thing that I noticed was that the interior design was extraordinary. I guess the proprietors wife handled the build-out. It reminded me of a really nice French or Italian farmhouse. She did a marvelous job. Kudos.

Sam was my bartender, and he was a great guy. He was helpful and attentive. In fact, the whole staff was terrific. Everyone was genuinely friendly and pleasant.

Since I was there early, the chef/owner even came out to chat for a bit. Tony was great to talk with. I shared with him a sister restaurant in the Milwaukee area. Morel! He was genuinely interested and seemed like a good dude.

Wow, four paragraphs to get to the good part...the food! Amazing. I picked several items from the menu. From the soft shell crab to the mushroom appetizer and the duck ragu pasta. Each dish was prepared perfectly. The seasoning was spot on, and the presentation was equally as good.

You can tell they use quality ingredients and buy products from local purveyors.

I highly recommend Wild Morel. It was a tremendous experience!!

Wild Morel is one of my favorite restaurants in all of the WNC // Asheville region. Collectively, my boyfriend and I have over 13 years of working in fine dining, and Wild Morel does not disappoint. Chef Tony takes pride in a seasonal, changing menu with a fantastic wine list. The staff are very welcoming, the atmosphere is cozy and beautiful, and the food is delicious.

My boyfriend and I have been there a number of times and each time it delights. We went for a 5 course meal with truly some of the BEST wine pairings we've ever had. It made the food light up. The lasagna I had there was one of the best I've ever had. They do frequent themed dinner services for specific occasions/holidays. We're so happy to live five minutes away from this gem. Great work Wild Morel!

We’ve had dinner here a few times and have been very impressed each time. Delicious dishes, great service & cozy vibe. Wine dinners are fun too!

Finally went here for the first time last Sunday for Sunday Supper and it was so good! Everything I had was delicious: loaded potato soup, bread, fried mozzarella rounds, and the "hunter style" chicken. The atmosphere is cozy and my favorite touch was the beautiful, assorted vintage floral plates that everything is served on. Looking forward to going back and trying something else off the menu.

This place has it all. Upscale restaurant with a charming atmosphere, friendly service, and delightful chef inspired entrées. A limited menu allows the chef to concentrate on making the best dishes possible. I have had the pleasure to dine there a few times. Each time, I was just really impressed at the dishes, subtle in-depth flavors, well paired to deliberately enhance one another. I tend to choose the daily special most places I eat, more often than not a bit more creativity goes into them, plus as a one-off this is where sometimes the extraordinary happens. Having eaten around the world, including Michelin, stared restaurants. This is right up there.

Everything we had was delicious--including the wine the waitress had suggested. I was there visiting with family so I can't come more often but I'm still thinking about this salad they had back in December. It had plum and goat cheese and I believe a citrus vinaigrette. I would kill for that recipe. The seafood alfredo they had was superb. I'll definitely insist on going back anytime I'm back down to visit!

We had an amazing time at the Wild Morel for dinner. They were having a speciality pizza night & the pizza was superb. We live in Charleston & are spoiled on pizza spots, & these were high quality pies!

This was a gem that I happened to find after a long day hiking in Pisgah Forest while traveling in the area. Although not dressed for the occasion, I stopped here for dinner and really appreciated the quality of the dishes served. There was great attention to detail and flavor profiles, which were excellent. The outdoor seating was beautiful and very pleasant. So glad I found it!

Outstanding food. Very original menu. Good wine list. Pricy, but well worth it. The menu changes and is seasonal. Probably the best restaurant in Brevard.

This place is amazing. Incredibly talented chef and the food is wonderful. I can’t stop thinking about the mushroom toast. Highly recommend.

Great unique flavors that make you want to come back to try other recipes. From a wood fire when you enter to fresh bread to start.

Food was incredible! Excellent wine list and great service. I can’t wait to come back next time we visit Brevard!

Prices are high

Went for our anniversary. Unfortunately, didn’t have the best experience.
I had the steak special which was grizzly and almost not edible which for around $65 was a huge disappointment.
When I got the bill, I realized there was a mistake. When mentioning it I spoke to the manager who was borderline rude to me and my wife.
They really do have a beautiful restaurant and a great atmosphere. If only the food and service was on par it would be a five-star experience.
