Saddleback BBQ REO Town

We used Saddleback BQQ to cater a business luncheon and they knocked it out of the park! The catering manager was very responsive and attentive to our needs from start to finish. And I appreciated they were willing to try out our request of a brisket carving station. Fast-forward to the luncheon and their team executed a very polished, professional buffet--- slicing the brisket to order was such a unique experience! 10/10 recommend their catering services!

A great spot to stop for a bite while in Lansing. The brisket is good, but their sides are their strong point. The mac & cheese was not dried out (which most BBQ spots fail to do), and the baked beans had generous amounts of meat. I also really liked their home mustard sauce. So much so, that I bought a bottle to take home.

BEST. Food I’ve ever had in my life. The Mac n cheese is creamy, the meats are tender and juicy, the sauce is phenomenal & the corn cake & sweet potatoes are to die for. I don’t typically like bbq food, this place makes me want to move here just to be able to eat here all the time. AMAZING.

Absolutely delicious walked right in ,had our food ready in minutes. It was mouth watering good . I'd give it more starts if they let me. We ate outside it was the perfect weather . Everything was well thought out , the place was clean even the bathrooms☺They had little caddy's with options to add your favorite BBQ flavors.

I've been to all the BBQ places in the Lansing area and Saddleback stands above them all. The service is impeccable, very friendly staff. The BBQ ribs and brisket are smoked just right along with the seasonings/rub. Took my daughter's there today and we had a fantastic time sitting outside in the sun. Also I should add, the bathroom is modern and super clean. Something I can be picky about when reviewing a restaurant. I recommend to all who are looking for good BBQ at a fair price.

Delicious BBQ, portions were very large and the meals came out quickly! It was nice to be able to sit out front at the picnic tables while eating. Brisket with tender and had a great smoky favor, sauce was not needed!

Only heard about this place thru a Facebook posting a few months back that was shared by a friend. My friend that I split basketball season tickets with and I decided we would make it a point to go there and try out the food.

Very glad that I did, and will definitely be returning. The cashier was very friendly, menu had lots of good options. I went with the 2 meat (pulled pork & brisket), Mac n cheese, and the Vernor’s sweet potatoes. All of it was very delicious. I definitely intend to try to replicate the Vernor’s Sweet Potatoes at home soon. The Sweet and Savory barbecue was so dang good that I decided to purchase a bottle of it to take home.

Definitely plan on making a stop here again in the future.

Great quality food and friendly staff. A downfall is that they’re aren’t combo options so if you’re trying to “ball on a budget”, this may not be your best place to go. Overall, being originally from Georgia- I REALLY like the brisket and sweet tea…the best I’ve had in the area for sure!

AMAZING good and service. The brisket was so fresh and simply melted in your mouth. If you haven’t tried this yet you’re missing out.

Tuesday’s pulled pork sandwich and fries special is a great deal. Burnt ends on Fridays. This is a good spot for small group lunch or dinner. Probably my favorite spot for bbq in Lansing area.

Everything there tasted absolutely sublime
The brisket was juicy, tender and full of flavour. The rub on the ribs was delicious. I even loved the warm corn bread. Get it, and leave some room to enjoy
With pork rinds I absolutely ruined store bought ones.

Great mom and pop bbq spot... great spices .. their collard greens ARE UNMATCHED... their pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw is super yummy

My first visit and I loved it. I pre-ordered a week in advanced. I arrived 15 minutes early to pick up my order, and told them I was early. They immediately put my order together and was out the door in under 5 mins. The pulled pork paczkis were really good. Picture perfect.

Absolutely outstanding! Went with them for some wing platters for a New Year's Eve party, and all four flavors were a smash hit. They went above and beyond!

When you drive up to this place the first thing you will think is "what a hole in the wall". It is in a part of Lansing called REO Town. (Near where the trucks where once made)

This is some of the best BBQ I have ever had.
Heck I didn't use any sauce. The meat was wonderful as it was.

I had the beef brisket, my wife ordered pork (she skipped sauce as well)

My brother in law and his wife got Caesar salads with meat.

Meals came with jalapeño cornbread (mild enough that everyone at table loved it) and spicy pickles

I also ordered the deviled eggs. ( I make great deviled eggs so I like to compare other ideas)

This place is worth the trip to Lansing's REO Town.

Visit some of the other shops as well.

I ordered a Thanksgiving day feast three weeks in advance and paid. My family prefers ribs over turkey… so ribs it was. I can’t pick up the meal at the Westside location, only in Reo Town because this is ribs and not turkey. I drive to Reo Town to learn there are no sides available, the food was never set aside for my order. The employee saved the day by offering a second full rack of ribs at no cost. Quick thinking on her part and very nice. Instead of heading home to spend time visiting with family out of town, I hustle to Gordon Foods, purchase the corn cake side dish, and other sides. Thanksgiving dinner was a success and wonderful left overs for all to enjoy.

Love saddleback. They do a good job adding new things IE: new fries, they were great btw. This time I tried a bowl with pork it was good, meat was excellent as always. The corn bread pudding is great. I prefer cornbread more sweet and less spicy with jalapeños but saddleback does a really good job balancing so if I have to have one with jalapenos I'll go saddleback. First time trying their wings garlic parmesan was really good The wings themselves were great I would probably get them again. Mac and cheese is cheesy creamy amazing as it always has been highly recommend. I'll definitely be back again and would recommend to anybody looking to try some great barbecue.

Side note: you guys should try to make a mashed potato bbq bowl with corn and some homemade gravy, just a thought =)
