I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff was super kind and helpful. The bathroom in my suite was glorious. My favorite thing here were the fresh baked cookies, the drinks in the fridge, and the happy hour snacks.

We were absolutely pleased with our experience at waters edge. Stephanie, Angie and the gang were very accommodating!
We LOVED the fact that our beloved Jimmy Buffet's music serenaded us in the courtyard as we were mourning the kids of our must favorite artist.
The bikes were an awesome touch, we rode all around the island. The golf cart transport was phenomenal and made life so easy. Speedy service all over the island for dinner and to the beach, fantastic!
Thank you!

This was our second time staying at Water’s Edge Inn and we will absolutely come again. Fantastic service, breakfast, happy hour and room accommodations. The team was available to answer any questions or provide us a short golf shuttle ride to the beach. Close walk to terrific restaurants and bars as well. Highly recommended stay in the Charleston area. Zero complaints.

Exceptional!! This inn is truly a gem!

Staff:
The staff was excellent—in addition to providing fantastic customer service, they were just so nice to sit and chat with—really lovely people! Take their advice on where to eat and drink in town!

Location:
Situated just closed enough to the beach and Center St that you can easily walk to everything Folly has to offer, but set just far enough back that you don’t hear a peep from the bars and restaurants. If you don’t want to walk to the beach, no problem, the staff will happily shuttle you there. The marsh view is really beautiful, especially from the hot tub in the evening.

Food:
The breakfast and happy hour food was great! There were always the staples (bagels, yogurt, eggs, fruit, etc) but each morning they also had a few daily items that were great and added nice variety. Happy hour was a favorite—the snacks changed daily so it was always a fun surprise to see what we had to munch on when we walked in after a day at the beach—they had beer, wine, seltzers, but the Folly Punch was the star!! Cookies were always available at the front desk too!!

Rooms:
The rooms were spacious and comfortable—We stayed in the Hemingway which had a comfy bed, a stand up shower and tub, dual vanity sink, and plenty of space to move around—it didn’t feel like a your typical cramped hotel room. The screened in porch overlooking the marsh was also lovely!! I wish there had been a dresser to put away clothes but there was a closet and we utilized the large shelf area above the fireplace for most of our items—

Overall we were beyond happy with our stay and can’t wait to plan our next trip back!!

We must have encountered 3-5 employees and it was off-the-chart commitment to hospitality and guest comfort. We were escorted to our room and shown its features and accommodations. It was very clean. Bottled water, milk, orange juice, iced coffee, cookies and fruit are available all day. The breakfast, for the most part, is homemade and fresh.
The Inn is old and has old architecture; steep stairs, rooms close to each other, no visible ADA compliance (elevator or wheelchair ramp). You will need to take stairs to check in and to get to most rooms, so asking about an elevator or something I may have missed is encouraged. Since the rooms are so close to each other, hearing conversations from neighboring room(s) happens, but was minimal for us.
The only thing I did not like and the reason why I was going to give a 4-star rating but the service and hospitality bailed it out, is that when I called about placing a reservation, I specifically asked if the ocean could be smelled from our room (long story; medical and therapeutic benefits, and, I was tasked with finding a place by the water where the ocean air could be smelled). The ocean cannot by any stretch of the imagination be smelled, but I was told that it could...I was not happy and am still a tad upset about being lied to, although I doubt the person intentionally told a lie to book a room...but had I been told "no", I would have looked elsewhere..
The Inn is a little less than 1/2 mile from the ocean, and staff will drive you there and pick you up in a luxury street-legal golf cart. If you want to drive to the beach, be prepared to pay $15 to park.

Excellent Inn. Nice location which is near Charleston and you can walk to the beach. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Loved the homemade breakfast and the happy hour! Rooms which included a gas fireplace were terrific and spotless. Nice that they had bikes available and offered to take us to the beach in their golf cart. The fresh made cookies/cupcakes every day was the icing on the top!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay beyond what words could describe, but I'll try. The grounds were well maintained and lovely, the service at the front desk was exceptional and attentive, the rooms were immaculate in every aspect, the amenities were much needed from the drink I recieved when I arrived after hours and hours of driving up from Ft Lauderdale to the hot tub bath tub in the room. I only stayed a night on my way back to Richmond, but did I get lucky with finding this place. It was super quiet as it's adults only plus the select rooms available which keeps it peaceful. I came on a whim and was lucky for them to have availability for one night, I loved it so much I was going to prolong my stay another night but alas it was booked, which is understandable as I didn't want to leave myself. I will be back with my wife and then again when my daughter is older. I have already recommended this place to people which hopefully doesn't limit my future availability! Thank you so much for a super pleasant stay!

The staff was amazing! Friendly any time we interacted and were great with service, even letting us use their printer to print our wedding officiants speech.

Wow! What an amazing Bed & Breakfast! We absolutely enjoyed our stay here and will be back! All of the ladies made this experience just that much more enjoyable- thank you for being so friendly and accommodating, helpful when it came to deciding where to eat, and fun talking with you about the history of the place and life in general ❤. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with some folly punch, iced coffee, or hot tea/coffee and yummy chocolate chip cookies baked right there. The rooms and common areas are so clean!!! Housekeeping does a phenomenal job with up-keeping! Everything smelled amazing fresh and clean! You can’t beat the peace of the room on your own screened porch, fireplaces in the rooms (they get hot fast though lol) jetted tubs, nice rain showers, comfy beds, delicious homeade breakfasts, evening social with drinks and snacks, hot tub, bike rentals, outdoor patio seating, provide shuttle if you want… I mean this stay was just altogether so fulfilling! Great job everyone in the planning- you’ve thought of everything! I just can’t thank your staff enough though. Everyone WANTS to be there and enjoys their job, which truly makes a difference in the overall experience ❤. We planned on 1 night, but asked to stay another if there was availability- loved both rooms!

YOU MUST STAY HERE ! From the moment we walked in the door, till the moment we drove off, my wife and I were smiling. We have been around awhile, and have stayed in many Cities and Hotels. Waters's Edge is certainly top 3, if not #1. You are only 15 minute drive from Charleston, or a short walk to the sandy beach. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel special.
Everything is perfect, from happy hour with a free bar and enough food to skip dinner. To the delicious breakfast in the morning. They cater to all different food and taste requirements for your personnel needs. I could write an entire book, on our stay here. Especially the private hot tub overlooking the bay, is absolutely breath taking. I told my wife while we were there, "remember this moment, and this Inn" "so next week when we are at work and stressed" you can remember this little slice of paradise" .
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - to everyone at Water's Edge

This was the BEST experience. I could not recommend it more. The staff is spectacular, they offer a golf cart to take you to the beach for free, rental beach gear, happy hour snacks!, a hot tub that looks out to the sunset, the breakfast is AMAZING, and the room we stayed in had the cutest balcony. This place is so clean and quiet, and filled with kindness and fun. We originally booked 1 night and extended to 2 because it was so spectacular. We will be back :-)

My best friend and I just returned from our stay. We had the best time! We were on spring break from our Senior Year of college and needed a place to relax and we found it here! The rooms were very spacious and the breakfast was delicious. They had a stocked fridge with water, juice, and iced coffee which was great to grab and go as we spent much of our time exploring. We loved using the hot tub as well! We hope to return soon.

A wonderful place to stay for one night or a few. If you can afford to spend a few extra dollars it's absolutely worth it. The breakfast is great with many options. The bathroom is fantastic, as big as the room. They have a happy hour with wine and snacks and a welcome drink of tasty punch. The cicadas give a marvelous concert in the evening. I wholeheartedly recommend

I have to say that this place was one of my favorites. It was beautiful and the room was clean and very peaceful. The staff members were very polite and fun. breakfast was really good. I enjoyed the jet tub that made me relax after having a fun night out with my sister. I would recommend anyone to stay at the INN.

Amazing service and hospitality. We enjoyed the daily breakfast. The room was wonderful. We were able to easily walk to the beach and restaurants from the inn, but they will give you complimentary golf cart rides if desired!

My girlfriend and I stayed at this lovely inn last week for 3 nights. The staff and amenities were top notch and included shuttle service back and forth to the beach, bike rental, beach chair/ umbrella rental, jacuzzi, breakfast, daily happy hours, in room fireplace and a private screened porch with a marsh view. Truly a relaxing and hassle free stay, which is exactly what we needed.

My husband and I stayed for three nights. The rooms were spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. Perfect walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and stores. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety. I am a vegetarian and was excited the first morning when the breakfast casserole did not have meat in it. The staff member made note of it and the next morning’s casserole was vegetarian also! We can’t wait to come back and visit again!

We went to Water's Edge in for our Honeymoon and they could not have been better!

They congratulated our wedding with a bottle of champagne and our whole stay was fantastic.

They have a good breakfast in the morning, a happy hour (get the Folly Punch) in the afternoon, and have recommendations for restaurants and other local activities.

The room we stayed in had a fireplace, which was great as one of the days we stayed it was cold, so that was great. The hot tub was also well kept and one of the perks of Water's Edge.

It is like a 2 minute walk to the beach and local restaurants, so everything is walkable.

We highly recommend Water's Edge Inn to celebrate a special occassion or just to have a place to stay in Folly Beach.
