Tides Folly Beach

Location was superb. To add very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was clean and seemed recently remodeled. Nice floor and bathroom and comfy bed. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. I had the grilled salmon and my husband had a burger. Drinks pretty good too. The bartender seemed overworked but she was still fast and courteous. I'd stay here again.

Wow! What an amazing experience! A group of us traveled 10+ hours for our best friends wedding, and the weather conditions unfortunately caused the beach wedding to be cancelled! We were staying at the Tides for the weekend and we were trying to find a place to hold this wedding and Jay and his hotel staff were so kind and let us have the wedding/reception there that night! Talk about an amazing staff who works fast and were SOOO generous! It turned out to be an amazing night!!! 10/10 recommend this hotel! Clean room and beautiful view!!! Also felt extremely safe the entire time!!! Was blown away by this hotel and I have stayed at countless of hotels!

The hotel is right on the water and every room is ocean view, which is just so beautiful. I stayed at this hotel to see my friend get married down the road on the beach, but due to unfortunate storms, her location was flooded and was looking at not having a wedding. But, the groom got in contact with this hotel and they very graciously allowed them to have their wedding last minute in their ballroom area! The staff was super friendly during the whole trip, but especially helping this wedding get put together in only a few hours. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. If the views aren’t enough, I’ve never met a more wonderful team. I didn’t get everyone’s names, but I wish I did. Jay is the only name I can recall and he truly was fantastic.

This is THE ONLY hotel on the beach at Folly. They do an outstanding job all around. The rooms are clean, service is quick, staff is polite, rates are fair and the pool bar is excellent. You'll love it here.

We ate lunch at the restaurant. It was good. We didn't stay at the motel but the beach was nice. The service was good and we enjoyed our food. We will definitely go back and maybe stay at the motel if the price is right.

Tides is my favorite place to visit for a quick getaway. There is nothing quite like sleeping with the sliding door open and hearing the waves while you sleep overnight. This is the best stress relief I've found.

The staff are also very nice and try their best to work it out if things don't meet expectations.

The rooms can vary a bit. Some have TVs that you can use an Xbox or Firestick to watch YouTube with while others only have basic cable. This is because the hotel remotes don't allow you to switch inputs. Not all rooms are this way though.

The staff were so pleasant and helpful! Lots of amenities, a cute shop with snacks, drinks, and coffee 😍 Loved that it was right on the beach and just a short walk away from restaurants and bars. Wish the room had a microwave, other than that I had a great experience.

Beautiful view, Excellent location. Walking distance to everything. Front desk workers are excellent. The food is wonderful. Loved the salmon salad. Hambugers and the Fries are great.. It was the best hamburger I had in a long time. The chefs are excellent.

Great place to stay! Clean rooms and super friendly staff! It's a great location right on the beach, next to the puer and in close walking d8stance of a lot of great restaurants and bars!

Came for our honeymoon and was blown away. This is one of our go-to hotels from now on, very clean, well organized, and super good food! I highly recommend you stop by the pier top bar. It's definitely a favorite of mine as well!

I've been celebrating my birthday on Folly for a long time. (Winter birthdays mean less sand and sea but also less crowds and chaos.)
This year has been a little ...different, thanks to a crazy winter storm and cold snap -- but the Tides staff has been there for me. They've made every effort to ensure that I have a cozy space, that I dine well, and that I feel welcome again after 6 years living out of state.
The difference between this staff and some other hotels is in their earnest humility and down to earthness. I know everything they've done for me is because they genuinely care about my experience. It's such a rarity in this world .. and it's absolutely worth my birthday visit traditions. Thank you, Tides Folly Beach.

Each stay at The Tides is simply superb. The staff is very helpful and kind, they make certain guests are happy. Location, location, location...yes, yes and yes!! Ocean too cold, no problem, the pool is heated! The restaurant and bar are great also. Oh, and the coffee shop serves Starbucks. Shops and restaurants are close by as well.

Perfect location! Super friendly staff. I didn’t get my dogs towel with her package but hey, no worries. Could use a little update with plugs for smart devices and tone down the deodorizer’s in the main lobby. I give it 5 stars because of location, staff, food and drinks. Oh…did I mention the staff! We definitely have a new place hang out every year. ❤and Bella (our fur baby) got to know many friendly folks!

This hotel is excellent. Family stayed here for 3 days and we felt so comfortable. The moment you walk in you were hit in the face with the most refreshing smell from all the vents. This place is so clean and accommodating. There's an awesome restaurant and outside bar on the first floor with such good food! Pets are welcome! We had an ocean front room with great views. The staff are all very friendly and willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Will definitely stay here again.

The room was recently updated.Glad to see no carpet but wide planking vinyl flooring. bathroom also looked updated with a walk-in shower, but surprised to see there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom which got quite steamy.great view from my room.Nice beach to walk.The Blu Beach Bar & Grill was Excellent.I would definitely return.

The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect. Walking distance to all the restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, bars, fro yo! Right on the beach with a heated pool, definitely will be returning

This is a 5 Star place in my opinion! From the moment u walk inside, Jay the concierge always greats u with a smile and calls u by your name, if your a returning guest! Or the next time u come he will remember u. When we got to our room there was a cold bottle of champaign waiting for us. The rooms are always clean, and the view from your room is too much! Sunrise every morning , the sound of the waves on the beach and we always sleep with the door open to sleep to that sound!
I love walking on the beach but the pool at the Tides is where I like to sunbathe.
Dinner was another story, what an elegant Begala on the beach to enjoy a 5 star dinner, with 5 star service! Ask for Beth, she will treat u like she's known u forever. The best server in all of Charleston! Well that we experienced!

My last trip was the best and we will continue to visit The Tides of Folly Beach!

This isn't my first post because after I returned home I realized the best parts of our trip to Charleston was with YOU ALL

Nice place to take a mini or long vacation. Everyone was nice. I am a travel agent so I am always looking for places to suggest for my clients. I will be adding this to my list of places to stay.

Service was excellent! Great staff. Extremely accommodating!
Room size was good, bathroom size was good. View was wonderful! Hotel dinner was great. Highly recommended the breakfast!
Will stay again.
