There was a small line at 5 on a Monday and it moved quickly- the hand breaded chicken tenders were good. The ribs were excellent. The sauce is in a class by itself.

I recommend the hoecake and green beans as well- my son snagged mine after he tasted it.

The atmosphere is lively and not too loud. There is an upstairs that is cute.

They have a kiddo menu and offer a nice selection of runs for sale. The space is designed well and you don't have to experience a large group of people if you prefer a smaller room.

Barbecue doesn’t get any better than this. We’re from St. Louis so I think we’re pretty good judge.

Ribs were meat falling off the bone. Brisket is thick cut and totally tender and moist. Those are the biggest Sellers but the bartender said they’re smoked. Wings were really good so we got four of those and they were excellent.

If the line is long, consider looking at the bar because you can seat yourself. That’s what we did and got service right away. And the bartenders were very friendly.

Baked beans were excellent. The dry rub on things was excellent and the barbecue sauce was also very good.

The only disappointment was the french fries. Just so so.

Great barbecue joint. It gets pretty busy. You order when you get there and then they give you a number. You find a table to sit on and they will bring out the food to you. We ordered the smoked wings, it was really good but they put too much dry seasoning (as you can see on the pic). I had the 4 bones spare ribs came with the BBQ sauce. Meat falls off the bones and the sauce was really good. Bottle of bbq sauce on each table if you want more. Mac & cheese was cold so we didn’t enjoy it that much. French fries were good. Drinks were refillable. Plenty of seating area and I believe an outdoor dining area as well.

What an amazing place! If the line is long it goes quick. The BBQ is amazing! My favorite was the ribs. They were the kind that fell off the bone. The atmosphere upstairs was amazing. There was a band , a few bars, different types of seating, and games. There was darts, shuffle board, and ping pong. Ed sat in old car seats, ate our delicious food, and played games for hours. There were plants everywhere and it was if we were outside with so many windows! What a great place!

Can you say DELISH! You can practically eat the air it smells so good! GREAT BBQ! We ate the Turkey, pulled pork, and brisket all top notch! Sides were coleslaw, Mac N cheese, fries, and hush puppies. We'd definitely go again.

As one would expect, Martin's feature a number of smoked meats. This being true barbeque, pulled pork is featured, but they also have turkey, chicken, fried catfish, and chopped brisket along with a number of freshly prepared sides. They've likewise appropriately taken a stand an have a single sauce at the tables. It's a vinegar based sauce, as God intended, but heavy on the sugar, which is unique to middle Tennessee as far as I know (vinegar based sans sugar being a low country South and North Carolina thing). It's very good, of a little different. They do have ketchup, but it's clearly for the fries, not the meat. Atmosphere is great, with a lot of areas to explore. We actually were there during the eclipse, which was cool, too.

If there were 6 stars, I would rate it like that. I've been waiting to go to Martin's for years to try the famous white barbecue with wings. We ended up going twice in our trip to Nashville.

The service and food are spectacular, but the setting and music really make the experience truly special.

Really enjoyed my experience here for random BBQ spot in downtown Nashville.

I can not speak for the BBQ, as ate a delicious valued smoked Bologna sandwich (thick-cut).

But the star here is the service. Every employees' interaction was engaging and guided you through the experience.

Even though I told no one, the staff read that I was in a hurry... and complied properly. Only wish I had time for a local beer or two.

Keep up the good work. Was made welcome and taken care of from start to finish....oh and the sandwich was awesomesauce too.

Well done to the team.

Beef brisket was AMAZING. Pork was juicy and succulent but not quite as much flavour as the beef. Sides wise broccoli salad & potato salad were both excellent and would glad have again, the Mac and cheese got left, it was that poor and the slaw was tasty enough without being remarkable.

Overall Thoughts: in Nashville for a business trip and stayed right across the street! I was starving when I got to the hotel…and I love BBQ so I thought I’d give Martin’s a try! I’d give this place a 4.8out of 5. Friendly staff, great food, great atmosphere!

The menu had all of the normal BBQ items! Pork, brisket, sausage, burgers! I decided to go with the brisket sandwich, and it did not disappoint! Possibly the best brisket I’ve had outside of Texas! Meat was seasoned well, and the sauce was very good. The fries were good, but nothing outstanding.

1. Restaurant Type: BBQ
2. Coke Or Pepsi: Coke
3. Ketchup Type: Heinz
4. Price/Value: affordable
5. Atmosphere: Laid-back family oriented (music is a little loud if you have young children)
6. Food Quality: Great Quality
7. Service: Fantastic
8. Parking: NA
9. Must Haves: Brisket sandwich

Great barbecue spot in Nashville which does not have any lack of good food.

Multiple levels, open seating, live music on select days, fast service. It was interesting to see the smokers.

We ordered 2 platters, one half chicken and one pulled pork shoulder along with Pecan pie.

The grilled chicken was flavourful , but felt the pulled pork could have used some more seasoning.
My favourite was the combination of Hush puppies and baked beans, that was just delightful. The pecan pie was also exceptional.

Overall I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting Nashville.

Holy smokes, this place is good! Don't let the line out the door deter you...so worth it! I had the brisket platter and was beyond satisfied. Portions good...price good. Service was spot on. Outstanding experience. Highly recommend

Nikki was amazing - wish more places in Nashville had people like her. The food was delicious especially the bake beans, broccoli salad and hush puppies. We visited several times in 5 days for food and atmosphere.

Ooooweee was this place amazing!! We’re from VA and love BBQ but we never had BARBECUE until we had Martins! The meat just falls apart and melts in your mouth!! Flavor combinations that hit every spot! No fatty pieces just pure top grade meats smoked to perfection!! Everything else is now just mediocre! 😅 We will be back for sure!!

Great food. Great service and an amazing atmosphere. A lot of historic Nashville is felt right here. We had both the pulled pork and Beef Brisket plate. Both well done. Sides are acceptable. The table sauce however leaves a bit to be desired. Would absolutely return.

The food here was very good. The main entrance has a large dining area and a full bar. The upstairs has a stage and several dart lanes plus a ping pong table. The food was seasoned well and only took 10 minutes to get to our table. The dart lanes were fun. Very spacious restaurant. We had the brisket and pork nachos. The nachos had slaw on them which was a first for me, but it was good. We also had smoked turkey salad. They also gave us a free pecan pie. I would recommend this restaurant.

We treated ourself after a log day at a trade show. We were there late afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all so we got some great seats at the bar and were taken care of by two very attentive bartenders who gave us great food suggestions. We got brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, green beans and a side of hush puppies. The drinks were great. Food came out quickly and was perfect portion to share without being over stuffed and no leftovers (we were walking and staying in a hotel)

Best BBQ I've ever had. Ribs excellent. Brisket and chicken are good. Baked were also very good. Atmosphere is macho with lots of wall art from music and movies.

Came to this lively BBQ restaurant on 4th Street South just a few steps from Peabody Street, on a Saturday night for dinner. When you enter the restaurant, you will queue up in the ordering area, which doubles as the gift shop, to place your order. You receive a small metal sign holder with a number on it, and go sit wherever you like on the first or second floors, until the servers bring your food to you. Very spacious area on the first floor with lots of tables, chairs, and a bar area...but you'll be even more surprised at the amount of space on the second floor, which includes a stage for a live band, games area with ping-pong table, and even more seats/tables. The food is very good and delicious - we had the Big Brother Sampler, which comes with 4 bones of big and meaty ribs, a few slices of brisket, three slices of Texas Toast, and two sides (we had fries and broccoli salad). Added six smoked chicken wings as well - very tender and very nicely done! Friendly and helpful staff, and great atmosphere befitting a BBQ restaurant. Highly recommended!
