A bit of a party like atmosphere on an early Tuesday afternoon. Local musicians providing the entertainment on multi levels and freedom to roam from floor to or from one honky tonk to another with no cover change. The weather was decent and quite a few places had large windows that open so you could enjoy the music from the street also. Restaurants, pizza, BBQ, boot store, gift shops too.
Do to time constraints we were only able to spend about 3 hours on this visit but glad we could make the trip and cross this off my bucket list.

An essential American experience even if, or especially if, you're not a country music fan. Several blocks of music venues, most with the band right in front of an open window. Of course most bands are country, but there's plenty of rock too. Excellent people watching, and the best collection of neon signs I've ever seen. Note: We visited on Tuesday, and it was really busy. I can't imagine what it's like on Saturdays!

This is Broadway Street, etc. in downtown Nashville. Definitely worth a visit both during the day and night for the music, the boot and clothing shops, the restaurants....Yes, this is the tourist part of town, but it's also full of talented musicians, and a great place to go to experience any and all of them. Most of the bars have large windows that open to the sidewalks so you can stand outside and listen to music as you're walking by or just standing out front. There is a cool five-story Ole' Red, Kid Rock's bar, and many others here, many of which have cool rooftop bars as well. The Bridgestone arena is also here. A very walkable and clean downtown area. Much fun!

Honky-tonk highway is awesome. Great music great energy, beautiful people to watch. This is not a cowboy town although there are many cowboy hats and line dancing in some places. The crowd is eclectic across all walks of life and across all cultures. And ages.

The music is amazing as a band that play in each bar are so so talented

No cover charges and great shows and bar e.g. honky-tonk

Wow! What a place! During the day, it's less busy, of course. But once evening hits, look out! 😉 It's a great time we tried to stop at many of the bars both day and evening. Some we just stopped in for a short time, others we stayed longer. 5th and Main has a massive food court with so many dining options as well. There sre some souvenir shops along the strip that all mostly carry the same items. We arrived in Nashville on Wednesday in August and stayed until Sunday morning. Wednesday was busy and it only got worse as the week went on! We had a blast, even being in our late 40's and 50. Lots of music to choose from and we heard some great bands! There was lots of security around, lots of homeless people as well, but they didn't bother us too much. Be prepared to say no if need be. It's a walkable area. We stayed 4 blocks from Broadway on the SoBro side (South of Broadway). Close enough to walk, but still a bit quieter. Yes, it's fairly expensive but we expected that. For us, it was vacation, and we were fine with it. It was an experience. We definitely had lots of fun. Met alot of great people, too! Nashville was on our list of places to visit. There are lots of other things to do away from the busy main street. Definitely recommend checking them out! Have fun and gets some rest before you go!

It's amazing how much it feels like a party out here even at random times, like a Monday afternoon. Certainly not like any other music street I've visited. Some I've spoken to compare if to the Vegas strip, but for people who don't like gambling and love music, as you can cover a lot of ground and listen to a ton of live bands over a very short period of time and without getting physically exhausted.

This was such a fun place to bar hop. The bars are multilevel, and there's entertainment on every floor. This is the place to be if you've never been to Nashville.

Had a blast! Music was great. Service for drinks wasn’t very good, but I would go back.

Lots of bars with live music. Everyone must go here at least once. The drinks were priced reasonably for where you are.

1st time coming to Nashville! Brother and sister in law took us to lower Broadway to check out the bars and such. Did not get to visit all of them as there are so many. That's ok, next trip! It was nice to see some places had "lines" but it was fairly quick to get into the bars. The lines were more so to control the people in and out. Can't wait to return?

This is definitely a place that is very unique to Nashville. I don’t know very many cities where you can go into a bunch of places to hear live music from talented artists and pay absolutely no cover fee. It’s a really cool experience, even if you just walk down the strip and don’t go inside any bars. You can hear the music from the streets. Many of the bars have multiple floors that play different types of music and have both live bands and DJs. Highly recommended.

This is what I came to Nashville for. Live country/blues/rock-n-roll everywhere! Every single door is an entrance to a live music bar/pub experience, likely different music behind each door too. A lot of rooftops!
Not iust for country music lovers, surprisingly, but a lot of that too of course (I heard a lot of modern country as opposed to classics). I’ll say the music depends on the day too. But each of the places on this street has a truly unique vibe of it’s own, so it’s worth hopping to experience everything.
Loved the fully open wall windows that let the music out onto the street, and speakers coming from each bar too so you can sample the sound before walking in.
Drinks won’t be cheap, but you don’t have to get much to have a great time.

Let’s break this down real quick:
1. Just go! If you are reading reviews and trying to decide if you should go, just do it. You won’t be disappointed.
2. Transportation - use Uber, Lyft or other ride shares to pick you up or drop you off. If you feel like a challenge you can drive but expect to pay to park in parking garages and walk.
3. During the day it’s very kid friendly in the evening not so much and tailored to older audiences.
4. Music is everywhere, enjoy yourself!
5. Food, you won’t go wrong finding food. Plenty of options to eat.

If you go to Nashville and don't go to Broadway Street then you missed it and shouldn't have even visited Nashville. This is a great place and I wish I was there now.

Had a great time here bar hopping. When In Nashville this is the one place you must come visit. It’s super chill but also wild. I think that’s the country twist at its best. Kid rocks and Jason Adlens Luke Bryan’s and sooo many other fantastic places. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.
