Alta Lodge

I stayed at Alta Lodge in the Alta Ski Resort in February of 2024. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alta Lodge during a February getaway to the breathtaking slopes of Alta, Utah. From the moment I arrived, I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this charming mountain retreat. The skiing at Alta and Snowbird is second to none (greatest snow on earth).

The cleanliness of Alta Lodge is commendable, reflecting a commitment to maintaining high standards. The common areas, dining spaces, and, of course, the rooms were impeccably tidy. It's evident that the staff takes pride in providing guests with a spotless environment.

The location of Alta Lodge is nothing short of spectacular. Nestled amidst the majestic peaks of the Wasatch Mountains, the lodge offers unparalleled access to the world-class ski slopes of Alta. The convenience of being just steps away from the lifts made my ski experience truly seamless and enjoyable.

The staff at Alta Lodge deserves special recognition for their warmth and courtesy. Every interaction, from check-in to dining recommendations, was met with genuine friendliness. Their dedication to ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay was evident throughout my visit. Dan and Mike at the Sitzmark Club were great (Dan has been at Alta Lodge since 1998 and Mike has worked there for 10 years).

Speaking of dining, the on-site restaurant at Alta Lodge exceeded all expectations. The culinary experience was a delightful journey of flavors, featuring locally inspired dishes that showcased the region's culinary richness. Each meal was a highlight of my stay, and the attentive staff added to the overall dining enjoyment.

The rooms at Alta Lodge are cozy and well-appointed, providing a perfect retreat after a day of outdoor adventures. The attention to detail in the room decor and amenities contributed to a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, allowing me to unwind and recharge for the next day's activities.

Considering the exceptional location, cleanliness, courteous staff, and the overall experience, I found Alta Lodge to be an incredible value. The quality of the stay far exceeded the price paid, making it a standout choice for those seeking both luxury and affordability in the heart of Alta.

In conclusion, my stay at Alta Lodge was nothing short of remarkable. I very highly recommend this gem in the mountains to anyone seeking an unforgettable winter retreat. I got married here September 30th, 2023 and would recommend it to anyone!! Rosie and Misti were very accommodating to make all our dream decor and wedding work out perfectly! From last minute changes and accommodations, to setting up a shuttle for a group hike, to replying to constant emails and questions. They were nothing short of kind and as excited for us as we were. We got pretty rowdy, and all of the staff was so kind and attentive to all of our needs! If you're looking for a wedding venue, look no further and make sure to get the weekend package!!

Had a lovely midweek stay at Alta Lodge this summer.
The room was clean, the lodge quiet, and the scenery extraordinary.
Breakfast was made fresh, and the staff was very attentive and friendly.
As a UTAH resident, I will certainly be back in the low season to enjoy fresh air, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life in SLC.

We loved having our destination wedding at Alta Lodge! From the beginning with choosing the venue and getting in contact with Rosie to working with Clara leading up to the day, it couldn’t have been an easier wedding to plan. Never having seen the venue prior to arriving for our wedding, we were amazed with how beautiful the views were from the Lodge and how cozy it felt. Our guests loved having breakfast available and being steps away from beautiful hikes. We didn’t have to do a single thing the day of the wedding and were absolutely amazed with how smoothly everything went. The staff are so talented in what they do. Having our wedding night an exclusive event was also really nice and kept the evening intimate as we wanted. Thank you for being so organized and allowing us to remember this day for being such a good one!

Spent a few days here for a friends wedding Sept. ‘23. Allll of the staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful, and we wanted to leave an extra shoutout for SARAH! She worked with the catering for all of the wedding meals all three days. She could tell my partner and I were starving when we arrived late and although dinner was already done and cleaned up, she went in back and made some plates up for us. The following days she made sure to bring the hors d'oeuvre plates to us in the crowd to make sure we were fed properly. She had a great sense of humor and took care of everyone so well. Alta Lodge is blissful. We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect. The staff is attentive, patient, responsive and dedicated to making your experience as wonderful as possible. The venue itself is a beautiful tribute to the old school skiing tradition at Alta mixed with modern day comforts and accommodations travelers have come to expect. Plus you can’t beat the scenery of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Whether you’re looking for a skiing getaway, a weekend in the mountains, or a wedding venue, seriously consider this gorgeous place.

Alta Lodge and their staff went above and beyond for our wedding in August! From the very beginning Rosie answered all my questions and ensured I had all the info I needed. Ginny was our on site coordinator and I can’t begin to explain how helpful she was. Being out of state I knew things had the potential to be difficult in terms of communication, but boy did Ginny prove that wrong. She answered all my emails and we had calls weekly to square away all the details leading up to the big day.

Wedding weekend itself was unbelievable at Alta lodge. Every staff member encountered had a smile on their face, especially Justin. I can’t say enough about Justin because he was truly so helpful and made the whole weekend go swimmingly.

The venue itself was breathtaking. My guests are still talking about how we just had the most amazing back drop to our wedding. Ginny and all the staff again brought my dreams to life. The food was also spectacular! The pot stickers were especially good!

I really could not recommend Alta Lodge enough! We cannot wait to come visit for our future anniversaries!

Oh my goodness its beautiful, It's so high up the mountains you can look down at the clouds. And with over 802 inches of snow this year, It may not all be disappearing to July or August, unbelievable. So much fun here, just be careful coming up and down the mountains. Your ears will pop. For real

An authentic cozy ski lodge of yesteryear with so much character, and thoughtfully and beautifully designed additions. The gracious staff was eager to please. A special shout-out to the management team with above-and-beyond service: Rosie, Jamie and Maren.

The Alta Lodge is one of my favorite places to stay in Alta and in the world. The service is exemplary yet low-key, rooms are impeccably designed and maintained, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a ski vacation.

We got married at Alta Lodge this June and we couldn’t be happier with how everything went! First, The sales director and site coordinator, Rosie and Molly, made it so easy and stress free. The entire staff was easygoing and professional from the start. Second, the view for our ceremony and reception was beautiful which many of our guests enjoyed. Lastly, our reception food was exceptional and the Sunday brunch was also very delicious. All of our guests who stayed at the lodge had a wonderful time.

The Alta lodge staff were so welcoming and helpful! We had a problem with a house we rented nearby during a snowstorm and they helped us find a place to stay since they were full for the night. They also used their transport to take us to the other hotel. Can’t wait to stay here in the future. Top notch service and staff that actually care!

My wife and I got married at the Alta Lodge in August and could not have been happier with our experience. The staff and food were incredible. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Living in Salt Lake, sometimes you want the fun and luxury of staying at the mountain and enjoying what the tourist come out every year to experience. I’m so happy we did as the Alta lodge provided the most wonderful staycation. Rosie was extremely helpful with making the reservation and from the moment we stepped foot into the lodge, George was there to help us with every need. He also provides the best laughs if you’re in need. Thank you to the Alta lodge family for such a fun trip.

We chose Alta Lodge for our wedding based on the charm of the lodge and the absolutely stunning mountain views and wildflowers. However, we quickly discovered that one of the best aspects of having our wedding at Alta Lodge was working with the wonderful staff! Everyone was friendly and responsive leading up to our wedding, and worked incredibly hard to make our big day run smoothly; even after we had to postpone our celebration for an entire year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The venue is beautiful (of course), the food was excellent and all of our guests’ dietary needs were expertly taken care of, and the staff was flawless with setting up, taking down, and everything in between. Leading this highly capable and friendly team was our day-of coordinator Molly Austin. We honestly cannot say enough about Molly – she answered all of our questions (there were a lot), she was an invaluable resource while we were planning our wedding, and then she helped us execute our special day to absolute perfection! Molly and the Alta Lodge staff went above and beyond at every turn, making our wedding a spectacular event! We could not be happier with the venue and the people, and we are truly grateful that we chose Alta Lodge for our wedding. There is no need to look at any other venue, book Alta Lodge for your celebration right away! Thank you, Molly! Thank you everyone at Alta Lodge!

Brunch was amazing!! Fantastic buffet, assortment of foods and drinks and you can not beat the view!! The server was meh, not great about keeping the coffee hot, and not great about explaining the brunch offerings - we had to walk around to find the buffet. The live music was a treat but you can't hear it at all outside; a few speakers could fix that. It was a soft jazz and make the experience that much more enjoyable.

We'll still go back, cause a quick drive up the canyon for a yummy and beautiful brunch is always on my go-to list! Maybe we'll get a better server next time.

I attended a wedding there in the morning. Staff was very attentive and pleasant. Room was comfy and the view was absolutely amazing. It was very close to snowbirds where we attended Oktoberfest the next day. For brunch on Sunday, they gave the wedding party their own private room to eat in which I thought was amazing! Again, beautiful view from the room, and the brunch was SO TASTY! Will definitely be staying here in the future

Sunday brunch buffet is phenomenal! Just delicious, and there are many options for the vegans as well as the omnivores in your crew. Wow! Wow! Wow! And the views are just amazing. Big windows overlooking the canyon or sit on the deck with incredible canyon views. Was not expecting that! Can’t wait to go back.

We recently had our wedding here and it could not have been better. The service Alta Lodge provides takes a ton of stress off of the planning and coordinating. We worked with Maren and she is so ridiculously good at her job. Any questions or concerns we had she was already one step ahead with an answer/suggestion.

Our guests as well as us loved the rooms. Very clean and cozy. Waking up to the mountains was fantastic.

I would happily recommend Alta Lodge for weddings as well as lodging!
