McAllen International Airport

It's a small but very friendly airport, I have been there three times. I just came back today and had to share a good experience: I forgot my passport in the security check bin, was not aware of it until a security lady waved the passport and called out my name all the way to the terminal. I was in such a shock even not remember her looking or thank her enough. Only remember that's a middle aged lady. Thank you, anonymous security lady at McAllen airport! I hope the airport management could reward her kindness. This happened on 3/15/2024 6:10 A.M.

This is a very nice clean airport that has easy access and parking. If you rent a car you will have to walk about a block to get your car and if you come back after the rental desk closes you just drop off the keys in their drop box. Did you know this airport is "The South Texas Airport of the Dallas Cowboys"? See the picture

Great airport and very close to the border with Mexico. Small and warm, but very active. Parking lot available for short and long terms, and the interior is very nice. Enjoy your visit and your trip.

Good airport, but the check-in experience could be improved. Everything else is fast and easy.

Clean little airport. You could arrive 30 minutes before your flight and still get through security and to your gate in time. Only 6 departure gates. Only 1 bathroom past security checkpoint. Everything was clean!

Well laid out airport. Does get busy with long lines so arrive early. Many first time flyers that arrive 3 to 4 hours early to ask questions and get into the waiting area. Because of that if you are running late or even 2 hours early it can cause you to miss your flight. I have cut it short a few times even getting there 2 hours early. I normally stop at El Pato near by on 23rd Street to get some food for my long wait. I Get a beer while I’m at the airport gate waiting area to wait out the extra added time. Clean bathrooms and waiting area.

No hassle and fast security, friendly TSA personnel, and Mike at United counter was the best. So accommodating when our flight was delayed and we had to change flights. Kiddos to your staff!!

Amazing airport best airport in the world viva Mexico. Such small peaceful town the majesty of simplicity.

The airport keeps get better and better. Really awesome to fly out of a place so close to home.

Hello, I'm a bit baised as I am one of the Ambassadors there... favorite part?...greeting the Arriving guests, including flight staff, and well-wishing the ones Flying away!

Important to note for Reviewers...McAllen (Miller) International Airport (MFE) gets dinged in their ratings even if complaints are toward the airlines, which are Separate entities...something to think about.

With that said, I'm pretty proud and impressed with all of MFE's hard earned 5-star reviews! ...leaving notations or names help us do better or keep it up...so, take a moment when you can!

City of McAllen, Dept. of Aviation staff do a great job of "runnin' the place; my boss, Mr. Gerry Rodriguez and the MFE Team & Ambassadors are really dedicated to making McAllen & MFE go Above & Beyond for you!

Small, yet most efficient airport with good food to be had while you wait!

UNITED Counter servise was the best the gentleman named Arnold (nickname SPEEDY ) was helping me with my boarding pass was so pleasant and kind not to mention Speedy 😀!

Great, just happen get 12 hour lay over,but currently on standby for earlier. Can only hope. It is a great airport.

Recently changed to new type of food shop and unfortunately not the same menu and very limited items to order. The food looks good though.

Always quick security, easy to navigate. The coffee shop/drink/snack bar is decent food, shop is respectable. This is one airport you definitely don't need 2 hours before flight time to arrive though.

It has a lot of parking space And the security
Is completely all over the place.

The airport is okay and the location is excellent when you have to wait several hours every time you are there.
