Mithai & Chai

This is the first Indian restaurant I have had in Michigan in one year as I have not been impressed with the Indian food in the state. I was so impressed with the chai and chicken biryani, which tasted homemade just like my mom’s. It was delicious, not oily at all and after a few hours I can confidently say my stomach is not upset. It is a great place to bring your laptop and work as they have huge windows, allowing a lot of natural light to come in and it is a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The stuff was so sweet and I got my order within 10 minutes.

The quality of this food is outstanding! So fresh and flavorful! The server was attentive even while being so busy with take out orders! The chef/owner, Rita, is amazingly talented. I absolutely love the butter chicken! If you want great Indian fare at reasonable prices, go to this lovely gem in Northville!

I really like this cafe! You can smell the Indian spices as soon as you walk in. The staff is very friendly and if you're lucky enough to get to talk to the chef you can tell she puts a lot of love and care into the food! They're oat chai latte is my favorite and I wouldn't get it anywhere else. I'm vegetarian and the food is GOOD. Love the egg curry special! A little Indian music and this place would be perfect ✨

I recently visited Mithai & Chai with a friend, and the experience was delightful. We tried the tandoori chicken panini, chicken tikka wrap, and paneer tikka panini – each dish was bursting with authentic Indian flavors. Rita Sekhon, the main chef, showcased her culinary prowess, leaving us impressed with her expertise. The ambiance was inviting, and the attentive staff added to the overall positive experience. Mithai & Chai is a must-visit for those craving delicious Indian cuisine in a warm setting.

I met Rita, the owner. She is friendly and accommodating and reaches out to customers to make your experience personal! I went in for tea and was given a sample of the family chai it was amazing! Along with the chai, I was offered a taste of their weekly special butter chicken lasagne it was delicious, I ordered 2 lunches to go! As all or most Indian food is on the spicy side, the homemade yogurt and nann bread was a great addition. I have been back for more, including the lunch soups butternut squash, and it was scrumptious! One of my family's favorite to go lunches was the chicken wrap and biria! Reminder ask for a sample if you're unsure what to order!

Really good food and restaurant layout is super nice! Rita (the owner’s sister) is so sweet, the service is great, and everything is handmade!!

I loved their iced chai. This was my first time here and the staff were super friendly. I ordered the iced chai which I loved. I wasn’t a big fan of the salad. They have a variety of menu items and there is plenty of parking near by since it was morning it was not too busy.

I love this place so much! The Tandoori chicken panini is to die for, and their drink selection is amazing! They are always so sweet and package their food beautifully with gorgeous handwriting. I'm currently in love with the CHA House Chai Tea Latte and their selection of unique desserts!
* make sure to get your samosas fresh from the restaurant! You want that crispiness!

This is a great place with Indian ethnic flavors. The mango lassi, chicken biryani, naan combos are mouth watering. The location is very convenient right in downtown Northville.

I recently just tried this place and I absolutely loved it! The food was amazing and it definitely fufilled my mom’s craving for chai. The papdi chaat is a must try! I loved the environment here and the staff was very helpful when I came and asked for help!

I highly recommend anyone in the area to try this café. It has a quaint atmosphere and is very warm and welcoming.

The food was absolutely fantastic. I personally recommend the Chicken Tikka Panini. If you are a fan of Chai tea there is no better place in Northville.

This food is unbelievably good! The Tandoori Chicken Panini was so delicious and a must try! The Biryani and samosas are so good! Its a perfect balance of spice and flavor, I definitely recommend trying this place!! I also thought the messages on the boxes were really cool. Great place!

Lentil soup is a perfect comfort food. Friendly and kind staff! We love doing takeout, too.

Home made ras Malai, chicken biryani, and lentil soup were on point! The Indian noodles were decent and samosa were over stuffed and lacked crispiness. The drinks options are great! The price is reasonable.

Awesome place. I lost power at my home. Spent all day here working. Internet connection was great. Had chai for breakfast. Chicken tikka panini for lunch and chef provided complimentary soup. Best like home made soup and panini. And I had another small tea around 3 pm. When I was about to leave finishing up my work, chef gave me complimentary fresh chai and Murukku. Again food, place, and people are all awesome.

I got doordash from hear and it was amazing! Super quick! Hot and delicious food! Not only was the food amazing it was cutely packaged! I got the chicken tandoori panini which I highly recommend. I also tried there lentil soup which is super thick and creamy the only thing that would make the soup better is if it wasn’t 80 degrees outside! I will definitely being visiting this place in the future!

Went there for the 1st time today. Extremely clean and impressed how fresh everything is. The ambience is amazing. Was greated by whom I believe was owner, Rita, who was extremely welcoming and level headed. I will be visiting more often, and highly recommend everyone to check this cute cafe/shop out!!

Awesome selection of Chai and teas. Also they offer Indian dishes. This place is cozy and perfect hangout for this cold weather.
