Came on a Tuesday and had the best dinner here. What I didn’t realize though was they have Karaoke here on Tuesdays! The bar area was a really cool spot to hang out and watch the Karaoke going on! It’s a mother/daughter combo running the show. This is MUST to come check out, so fun!

My family and I had an amazing dinner at Phil's last night. It was all perfect -- every dish we ordered was excellent, our server was gracious, and Phil is an A+ host. The Nashville-style wings, prime rib dip, spaghetti and meatballs, and the special brisket sandwich (with a hot link thrown in for good measure) were each a winner and reason enough to return. It has a great atmosphere, reasonable prices for high-quality food, and the thoughtfulness in the little details shows (the photos on the wall tell a family story). A real and rare gem in Thousand Oaks that we look forward to revisiting. We're so excited we found this place.

Great, cozy little spot. The owner, Phil, made an effort to come to our table and get to know us. After speaking with him, I felt like I was at home and eating in a friend’s home. Our server was an amazing lady with blonde hair (unfortunately cannot remember her name) was exceptional and very sweet and attentive. My boyfriend and I ordered the sausage pasta and it was so delicious! We also got the flourless chocolate cake for dessert with raspberry sauce on top. This cake was made fresh by Phil and was absolutely AMAZING! Phil gave us a tour of the bar at the end of the meal, and the bar area had a lot of character and was very nice. Phil offered us a “nightcap” on him.

Overall, great food, exceptional service, very clean and cozy atmosphere. Great for date night, girl’s night out, or family dinner. Will definitely be coming back.

Thank you, Phil!

My first visit and it was for happy hour and Sat in the bar. Comfy area but next time would like to eat in the restaurant area. Service was great and bartender made delicious drinks. Strong but smooth. Tried the crispy brussel sprouts, tomato soup with grilled cheese and wedge salad to split with my vegetarian friend and they all were delicious. Brought home baked chicken for my husband and he loves it. Can't wait to go back.

Wow what a fantastic restaurant and bar. I cannot overstate what a great time we had here. First off the service was amazing. The staff was top notch and really made the evening enjoyable. We started the evening with the bacon wrapped shrimp which was fantastic. Then the spicy tater tots... a lot of restaurants just over cover the tots so there is no crunch...not at Phil's they came out perfect. Just the right amount of crunch while still getting just enough of the spicy sauce to taste it but not over power the tater tot. Finally as the last appetizer the Mac and Cheese.....now I have had Mac and cheese before and I like to think I make a pretty good Mac and Cheese....Phil's place has made me question my ability, and made my Mac and Cheese feel like it may as well have come from a box....it was hands down one of the best cheese sauces I have tried...not sure what the secret is but I would come back just for that.....the Entrees were just as good. We all shared a steak, the roasted chicken and the schnitzel. Each and every dish was spectacular. One of our group makes a darn good schnitzel and she is now crying that she can no longer make schnitzel after tasting the schnitzel at Phil's. I was thoroughly impressed and if you are in the area this new restaurant is a definite must try. Thanks Phil's you have really made a great first impression can't wait to try more of your menu!

I’m a little embarrassed to admit it took me over two years to figure out Phil’s existed. The only excuse I have is I have two small children, but it’s not the best excuse.

Then the stars aligned and I brought my wife for her birthday dinner, and wow, were we absolutely impressed! We loved the quaint structure of the restaurant. It was very cozy and intimate on the inside.

The service was great. Our server was delightful and attentive. Phil, the eponymous owner of the establishment, made sure to introduce himself and ask how the food was. True to their claim on their website, we were made to feel like family.

And the food… just delicious. We ordered the club chicken sandwich and the baked meatball sandwich. The meatball sandwich was likely the best meatball sandwich I’ve had. My wife loved her chicken and club and also was impressed with the side boss salad, which seems like not a big deal, but in this industry, it’s the small things that matter.

All in all, we will be back. And looking forward to it.

Great dinner, all the food is delicious! The "Schnitzel" is amazing. The onion rings and Caprese were great as well. The staff was very attentive, an excellent dinner choice!

Had dinner for the first time at Phil's. Had a great dinner, Roasted 1/2 chicken was awesome; yet, the dessert - Apple Caramel Cobbler was unbelievable! Intimate setting, good drinks, bar at the rear was very cool, plenty of parking, plan to go back!

What a treasure. Located in the store front that was, for decades, T.O. Fish & Chips. Fine dining in the front. Bar for casual in the rear. Prices were very reasonable...and the food was delicious! Nightly specials are awesome. Friendly service...what's not to love about this place? I plan to return soon.

My family absolutely loved this place. They made us feel like family and very comfortable. We will be back when we’re in town. Phil created something special. The menu was unique and the wine was paired perfectly. Can’t wait to come back.

Recently opened, definitely a "try this". Went there for lunch. Got the Branzino (fish) with lemon caper sauce, and it was DELICIOUS! Also tried the lemon creme brulee for dessert. Great service (our server was very helpful, patient), small intimate setting. 2 hour parking in front, or 3 hr parking on the side street. Highly recommended!

Wow!!! Simply wow!! Everything. Here is basically wow!
Found this place incidentally and gladly I did! Trying to find a place that is open late is hard but found a place that is a bar and a restaurant and open late! Perfect package! They also have happy hour so take advantage!

Decided to come here with a friend because looking at their menu, food looked amazing, seating was great and highly rated and plus open later than many other places so decided to give it a try. It’s like a hidden gem!
We were seated immediately, place is spacious and has many tables and beautifully decorated. Basically what I learned toward the end of the night was that everything was basically about family! I love it and I’ve never seen anything like that before. The owner Phil came and introduced himself and greeted us and welcomed us. That’s amazing and it gives a place more value that you’re greeted individually and asked to take a look at the bar and each picture and thing put in the restaurants has its meaning!
You get a different vibe in the restaurant,
It’s classy and beautifully decorated and has its own atmosphere. Then you go outside area which is not really outside it’s still inside but you get the bar area with Tv and so many different kinds of beers and drinks. It’s spacious with stool bars and tables. This place is just amazing
Make sure you ask about a tour of the place and you’ll be introduced to things and why they were put and even the shirt design! Highly recommend! I think it’s beautiful and gives the restaurant so much value!! I can’t wait to be back! Introduce friends and family here.
So I got their chicken chronicle and it was something else. Chicken was so tender and had tomato avocado but those are covered with cheese. So good!It looks big but it was sooooo tasty! I couldn’t stop eating it! My friend had their Bronzino and it was sooooo good too. I tried it and it was super delicious If it wasn’t too late I would have definitely had their dessert but that’s why there is next time

Staff and owner are extremely friendly, they have various menu options to choose from. Plenty of drinks and dessert. It’s a really nice place if you have to be casual or dressed up. The classy area of the restaurant and the bar style outside is just a brilliant idea. Thank you Phil for a great night for introducing the place to us and explaining everything there. Will be back sooooon!

The servers were so nice and attentive. The food was excellent. We had the beef stroganoff which my husband said it was the best he's had and I had the filet which was cooked to perfection. Need to also mention the cocktails which were great and not skimpy.

I have heard of Phil's but I have never been there. Truth be told, The space has been many restaurants, so I was skeptical about what I would get. My husband and I were hungry and decided to stop somewhere as we were driving down TO Boulevard. He suggested Phil's, and I agreed. I didn't want to get into the game of judging restaurants, or I would end up endlessly searching for something and never making a decision.

We were greeted by a server named Carolina, who was very nice. The front of Phil's dining area looked inviting, with approachable tables, wine glasses, and cloth napkins.

We decided to share the BERNARD BURGER: Wagyu Chuck Blend, Grilled to Order, Lettuce, Tomato, Sweet Onion Marmalade, Cheddar Cheese, and Aioli on a Brioche Bun.

We each had a martini. I had the ROXIE STAR: Grey Goose Vodka, Passionfruit, Rosewater, Club Soda & Sprite, while my husband had the DEBBA WEBBA: Tito's Vodka, Fresh Blueberry & Raspberry Juice, Fresh Lemon Juice, Club Soda.

Overall, the experience was good, the food was very good, and the service was exceptional. The bill came to $80, including tips.

Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Such a fun atmosphere! Yeah it’s a bit crowded (on a Friday evening), and for a reason! The food was amazing. Went for the happy hour. Are you kidding!? The drinks and food were so inexpensive and outstanding quality! The service was also amazing. I can’t wait to go back for regular dinner. The meals look amazing at reasonable prices. This will be a regular spot!

For happy hour:
My fiancée and I ordered 2 appetizers and 4 drinks. The total after tax (before tip) was $40. Stuffed, buzzed, and happy. 10/10

Phil's has that atmosphere of a local favorite bar, but with the quality of food and drinks at a much higher level.
Lots of comfort food options on the menu but these dishes were expertly executed. Went out with a group of friends and we all landed in the clean plate club at the end of the evening. Desserts were amazing (bread puddin' 🤤) and the cocktails were very, very good. Even when ordering a cocktail off the menu - probably the best Negroni in all of Thousand Oaks/Westlake and that's saying something with all the Italian places up here.

Great place with dining and patio up front and bar in the back that has happy hour during the week. Kids friendly and the kids menu is thought out. The Mac and cheese is really tasty and they don’t skimp in the burger. The cocktails are super yummy and beer is decently priced. The place is filled with personal photos and memorabilia which makes it feel more welcoming. The owner is very kind and accommodating and has interesting stores to share. Parking is in the back but you can enter on either side. Support this local business!

Absolutely wonderful ….. I started with the “Brendalish” Martini, my husband the “Jessie’s Gin Thyme” - both creative and unique. I recommend the “Schnitzel Family Favorite” salad as well as the “Bernard Burger”. Whatever you order, save room for the “Apple Caramel Cobbler” - literally heaven in a little cup!

Went there for wife's birthday. Had a great time. Service was second to none. Always checked on you and took good care of us. Owner works the floor and came by a few times as well. Really neat bar area. Family owned atmosphere. Food was great and the only reason not 5 starts the beef stroganoff was a bit too salty. Free desert and they even sang to my wife. Prices are a 5 star for sure in a area where things are really expensive. We will be back.
