This place is clean, bright, and simple. The coffee is delicious. Larry the owner is a wonderful person. He is pleasant, sincere, and knowledgeable about coffee. In two minutes, he has taught me something that helps me make better tasting coffee every day.

Where do I begin! My first visit and the owner made me feel like I was home. He explained his different coffees with passion. I loved it because his menu was not overwhelming, simple and to the point for you genuine coffee drinkers. Oh did i mention the coffee was AMAZING, he chose the Ethiopian roast. I don’t take cream or sugar and this was a delight to sip on, no bitter taste, smooth and delicious. (I’m no coffee connoisseur, however I prefer boutique coffee shops over commercial). If you are ever in the Lutz area, you must stop by, I PROMISE you won’t be disappointed!!!! Thank you for a great start to my day off Ragged Coffee!!!

Can’t say enough about this hidden gem!!! Love this shop! Besides the best roasted coffee, I get an education every time I come in! Larry is great and when u come in on Saturday Francisco is extremely knowledgeable and helpful !! You can really tell they care about the craft of roasting and the product it produces ! If you like great coffee , great people and shopping local this is the spot!!

Found this using the “stops along the way” feature while heading to a work meeting, and totally got lucky this morning!! Ragged has a great vibe, great merch, and a kind and interesting owner. Larry was attentive and conversational and made me a truly delicious pour over with a roast he recommended based on my (really lack of) coffee preferences. I’ll definitely be back! ☕

We’ve loved watching this small, family owned business grow- and the coffee is the best we’ve ever had! We ship the whole bean Ethiopia blend to NY and always get coffee that was roasted within the week.

I have been getting beans from Ragged for about a year now. I have tried many, but keep coming back to his Ethiopian bean. Consistently roasted and So good! I also stopped in recently to try the new cold brew. It was delicious! Really smooth, subtle sweetness with a slight dark chocolate flavor. Was the perfect cold brew for a hot day. I’ll definitely be going back for that.

Amazing local coffee roastery! The coffee tastes great and Larry, the owner is very friendly, passionate about coffee, and offers great customer service. The shop is clean and nicely organized with the roaster on site(which is nice to see 🙂)

If you haven’t discovered this local gem, do yourself and your tastebuds a flavor (pun intended). Owner is welcoming and generous about sharing his knowledge. We’ve enjoyed every coffee but love the darker roasts, whole bean or ground to request. The cold brew is awesome. Been giving Ragged coffee as gifts for awhile now and always well received. I enjoyed sampling the coffee right there in store. The Guatemala Coffee had a citrus flavor that I really enjoyed. Can't wait to try the midnight oil tomorrow morning!

The business owner is very attentive and roasts the beans right there in store. Its smells great! Also, he says thank his wife for the cool design she is the creative one. I love that not only is he brave enough to open a small business of his own but gives credit where credit is due.

Just got my first bag from the monthly roasters choice subscription. This is excellent, they send it just under a week old so you can try it without having to wait for the degassing. This is delicious, we are loving it and I cannot wait to try more.

This coffee is so good! I make cold brew and they grind it perfectly for me and the rest of my family use regular. They willgrind it however you like. They have 5 different types and I’m trying them all out! I believe they have a taste and grind to suit everyone. They are also super helpful so if you don’t even know exactly what you want, they will guide you. Give them a try…you won’t be disappointed!

Ragged Coffee is a relatively new roaster in the Lutz area.

Larry, one of the owners, spent some time learning the art of roasting at Tampa coffee company King State. He and his wife then moved north where they started roasting under the Ragged name and selling it at local farmers markets. Now they are back in Florida and Ragged has a brick and mortar shop in Lutz.

Ragged has a pretty simple, no frills setup. When you enter you can pretty much see everything in the place. The open concept includes a small coffee tasting station and checkout area to the left. The center of the shop is all coffee. In the front, there is a table with bags of Ragged Coffee. At the time of my visit they had three or four single origin roasts, a couple blends and, I believe, one decaf. Behind this table there are bags of unroasted coffee on pallets. In the back, the roaster itself. Yes, that big beautiful roaster is there for all to see. To the right, Ragged has some merch for sale.

I picked up a bag of their Ethiopian single origin. The 12 ounce bag cost about fourteen dollars which is pretty comparable, if not slightly cheaper, than other independent roasters in the area.

I love the fact that there is a new coffee roaster in the Lutz area with a good product that is affordable. Ragged, I will be back.

I love Ragged Coffee because they’re local, made in the US and the coffee taste the best. We’ve had Ragged Coffee at many of our local events and everybody always loves the taste. I personally, love the fact it’s low calories but still taste really good. If you haven’t already tried it you’re missing out. Also, stop by their location! The coffee is roasted fresh every time- last time I went there they had Dave Chappelle roasting the beans, best jokes I’ve heard in a long time.

I’m from Orlando but was visiting the Tampa area, and when I stumbled upon Ragged Coffee, I had to try it. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!!! I ordered a pour over and also got a Colombia Snapchill. Larry is the man! Highly recommend.
