Metro Diner

We just had lunch for Mother’s Day at Metro Diner near The Villages and I must say what a well-oiled machine! Not a table was empty, not even for a minute. There was no shortage of staff: everyone was pleasant and constantly on the move, pitching in where needed. The food came out fast and hot, cooked to order. Plus they had chocolate covered strawberries for the moms and festive decorations. All in all a lovely lunch.

I love diners, and this one did not disappoint. I went for the classics, biscuits and gravy, eggs, and hashbrowns.

My friend has a chicken salad sandwich, which was amazing.

The atmosphere was terrific, and our waitress was the beat.

Me and my boyfriend absolutely LOVED the service we received at metro diner on 6/2/24 our Server’s name was Dakota and his acts of service was above and beyond!!! 1) He gave us an appropriate amount of time to look over the menu and the food was fast delivered. 2) There was a minor mistake with my boyfriends food which WE DID NOT have to point out to him he caught it himself and replied “I can get that fixed for you immediately” we kindly declined and said we understood. 3) He kept refilling our glasses continuously without us asking. 4) He got the manager to take off a little bit of money from my boyfriend’s meal because of the minor mistake that HE didn’t even cause.
… Dakota’s personality is very infectious!!! He smiled through every encounter, every time he spoke to us it was respectful and precise!!! We absolutely LOVED him and we hope to be back again in his section because of his amazing attention to detail and personality! Also Thank you to the kitchen Manager Sam!!! The food was Hot and Delicious!

Excellent service and splendid (huge) fried chicken sandwiches w/ special honey mustard sauce. Cole slaw was tasty, too. The only negative food issue was the onion rings were overcooked. Atmosphere was too much like a sports bar, which wasn't our favorite part. We ignored the TV's and enjoy the food!

We arrived at the Metro around noon on a Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised that our wait was less than 10 minutes! Staff works hard to keep things moving. Our waiter Jermaine was awesome and very friendly. Our food came out quickly and was hot. Everything tasted great. I had the meat lovers omelet with extra crispy hash browns. Very good!! Thankfully there are several locations to choose from!!

The food was excellent. My husband loved the meatloaf so much we came back 2 days later. He said he wanted to eat there 1 more time before we left Florida. I ate the Southwest omelette hash brown bowl. It was very tasty as well. We also loved the garlic buttered broccoli. My dad had the roasted shrimp clam chowder and was raving about it. We would highly recommend and will come back if we are in the area.

This was my first time here but my parents go here frequently. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes and I had the pot roast and it was amazing!! Hopefully I can stop in again before heading home. Our server was also wonderful and stopped by often to see if we needed anything.

Man, my husband and I have went here two days in a row! We really enjoyed the mimosas and the time spent. Quick and friendly! We absolutely loved our meals! Wait staff was amazing! Please I encourage you to sit at the bar and have a mimosa or even two Melony will take great care of you!

We love Metro. We go there for breakfasts & lunches. Food is always good. They actually have poached eggs. Most places say poached, but they're really fried.
All the waiters & waitresses are great. Very helpful and polite. It's a pleasure.

Had a breakfast at the bar. Eggs Benedict San Francisco style. Was superb! Fast service, nice chilled atmosphere, highly recommend this place! Thanks. Jay.

Came in right before they closed (apprx 1935) at 2000 however we were immediately seated, our order taken and the food was hot and fresh. All this was done within 10min. Our waitress was super nice and very assuring that there was absolutely no issue with the time.

I ordered pot roast and she ordered chicken pot pie. Both portions were ample and heavily packed with chicken and beef respectively. We'll definitely be going back again pretty soon maybe for lunch but definitely well before it gets close to closing time at 8pm!?!?!? Which I feel should be at least 9pm as working in the medical field & not getting off till 730-8 on normal nights makes it nearly if not completely impossible 😢

If you're a fan of Guy Fieri and Triple D, you'll know that when he puts his stamp of approval on a restaurant, it usually becomes famous. This is the case with Metro. It has now grown to probably 20 locations in Florida. This one in the villages is large and busy. The food is hearty and service is good. I had shrimp and grits and I'm a little torn about what to say. I've had about 15-20 versions of this dish around the country and this is totally different. Two deep fried cakes of grits, very crunchy on the outside, and covered with southern white gravy, chives, bacon and shrimp. If you're a traditionalist looking for some version of loose grits with any number of toppings depending on the cook and region, you're gonna be as perplexed as I was. Everything else that my group had was good tasting comfort food and I was the only one who didn't lick my plate clean. That's rare for me. I won't say it was bad, but it wasn't what I expected and the white gravy stiffened up, as it tends to do, and the grit cakes were dry. Not my cup of tea, but the place is definitely worth eating at.

Ashley was our server and was fast, efficient and friendly. Enjoyed our breakfast experience. Thank you Also kudos to Dakota for being so friendly and helpful.

Absolutely wonderful place the food is always amazing, must try the chicken and waffles cooked fresh every time. Our waiter Dakota is absolutely amazing really made the entire experience that much better. Ask for Dakotas section he won't disappoint!!!

Metro Diner is a family favorite. My husband and I came here for lunch and it was absolutely perfect, as usual.

We ordered the carafe of red sangria. My husband had the pot roast, and I went with my favorite, the iron city meatloaf. We also were being gluttonous so we shared a half order of the fried chicken (which is always a hit).

The waiter, I believe his name is Jordan, is always great. We’ve had him several times and he’s always on point . He gives great recommendations, he’s attentive but not too overbearing, and he’s friendly.

As usual, our food came out pretty quickly, and it was delicious. The pot roast melts in your mouth. The only thing is that they should pair it with white rice rather than mashed potatoes. Nonetheless, it was so good that I kept picking off of my husband’s plate.

We truly enjoyed this place. Our 1st time . I got meatloaf plate and my husband got the spicy honey chicken sandwich. So delicious. The staff was so friendly.

Food was delicious!! All the staff was very nice and smiling. The manager Heather stopped by and made us feel very welcome! Will be returning more then once a week!!!

Stopped in @ “ brunch time “while company was visiting for a bite after reading the reviews. The parking lot was full so that was a good sign it was good but was prepared for a wait. We were seated right away and our drinks arrived. I saw the chicken and waffles pass by and I knew I wanted to try that. I ordered that to share because it is a very generous portion. The rest of our party ordered biscuits-n-gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage , toast , hash browns, and eggs Benedict. Wow , so much food! Everything was delicious and hot on arrival. The strawberry butter on the waffles was incredibly yummy, not too sweet. The server added hot sauce to the syrup to try. Service was excellent and friendly.

We had about a five minute wait time when we arrived. My daughter and I had the breakfast plate while my husband had chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Despite it being very busy, the food was piping hot and delicious. I can't wait to go back to try their other dishes!

Great place to get a decent meal at a decent price.food is good , lots to choose from. The prices are on the lower end and you get a good portion. The meals are made fairly quick. The staff is always very friendly.
