I used to go here on lunch breaks when I went to Pepperdine several years ago and I can report it’s still just as good. I’ve only ever gotten their sandwiches but that’s fine because every one I’ve ever tried is great. The staff are friendly and you can typically count on getting your food fast which is great considering you’re in Malibu with a bunch of tourists

Great healthy/easy option when you’re on the go! My fiancé and I were in the nearby area looking for something vegetarian friendly, and came across John’s Garden. We got the Berry Smoothie, a press sandwich, and the Mediterranean. Better than what we had expected! Looking for healthy options that are not your standard chain restaurant is tough, and this was one of the Greats for sure!

This is a solid summer spot for food and snacks.

Their in house made chicken salad bowl is probably my favorite snack their and this cookie was phenomenal. Coconut, macadamia & chocolate chip cookie! Soft, gewy and delicious!

I’d definitely get more items in the future as the summer settles in.

They have great options for all sorts of diets, including good vegetarian options! I tried the caprese with pesto and it was delicious and hit the spot. The sandwich came with a small salad as well and the dressing was great. There are plenty of options for drinks and snacks as well. I will be back to try some of the other sandwiches here.

Great sandwiches, made to order - and a good selection of chips, snacks, and beverages. Been coming here since ‘90. This is the first place that I’ve ever tried avocado. They sliced it and put it onto a whole grain toasted roll with a hot veggie garden burger, tomato slices, alfalfa sprouts. Very satisfying. They have plenty of picnic tables outside the shop overlooking a beautiful park, where you can sit and watch kids play on the jungle gym while you eat. Good place to spot celebs... but be cool and give them their privacy.

Obsessed with this place! In such a cute location and the food is to die for. There’s a little courtyard that the location is on where you pick up your order and can eat. There’s a playground as well for kids right there.

If you are looking for healthy, fresh and delicious food - this is your place. Honestly, it was hard to choose from all the great options on the menu because I wanted to have everything. :)
We had a European salad and a Prosciutto caprese sandwich, and our kid had a Ham & Swiss sandwich with a bowl of fruits - everything was very fresh and delicious. The fruits were sweet and juicy.
We will definitely stop by again.

There is something for everyone here! I had the Vegan Delight which was fresh and tasty. The pumpkin seeds and cashews added a nice twist to this otherwise traditional veg sandwich. Definitely recommend if you’re nearby and looking for a quick bite.

Love this spot!! I've been needing to come to Malibu for family reasons over the past year, at least once a week. The sandwiches here are so good and have given me something to look forward to! Fresh and delicious, nice staff, and also great options for chips, drinks and snacks and treats. Beautiful location, too, to eat outside under trees near the beach, with birds and kids playing around!

Awesome Chocolate milkshake they have! Great place to chill and have your drink. Staffs are fast and helpful.

They have a vast selection of chips, snacks, and beverages. Great sandwiches and delicious vegan options! Everything is so fresh and satisfying. They offer many healthy options and a large selection of drinks.
They have plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas outside the shop, overlooking a beautiful sunny park.

Great salad for lunch, can’t wait to try their other ones. The drink was very good as well!

Great sandwiches. This time I got a Surfer/Princess, which has turkey, lettuce, tomato, avocado and mayo. It’s served with a salad that has really good dressing. My wife got a Chinese salad, which is really good too.

Service is friendly and prompt. Dining is outside on a very nice patio in a courtyard of several shops. There is also a well equipped playground that young kids would enjoy.

John’s Garden is great! The staff is always friendly & they have a great rewards program. I even just got a free smoothie reward for my birthday (the guadalajara - it’s amazing!) Their sandwiches are awesome & my go to. My favorites are the caprese & the surfer princess! Overall, it’s a great place to eat healthy meals & snacks. Highly recommend!!

My first time having an amazing quality of sandwich with fresh, warm bread, and great ingredients. The Mediterranean sandwich was full of vibrant flavors, and really hit the spot. The black bean veggie burger was delicious and crispy with warm soft bread. Definitely will go there again. 10/10 recommend

The smoothies here are some of the best I’ve ever had. And their bowls are so fresh and well made. The chicken one is a power meal. Their Cali avocados are out of this world, perfectly ripe and full of flavor.
Went their twice while in Malibu and their sandwiches are also well made. I got the Portofino (chicken pesto sandwich) and it was one of the few sandwiches where I finish all the bread as it was packed with chicken all the way through.

This is one of my favorite spots. I always get the samething Red Magic drink, and Tuna Sandwich with side salad. They have little healthy snacks inside. A passion fruit vine wraps around the pickup window. They have great customer service, food is ready in a flash.

I really like this establishment. They are quick, efficient, friendly and serve deliscious good at a fair price. They also have an excellent assortment of healthy snacks. Highly recommend.
