A miraculous outcome to what began an a nearly impossible steam engine repair. The engine was dropped and the pilot was destroyed. These folks, now friends, realigned and filed down to millimeters working under magnification reminiscent of my days around the RCA metrology lab. Incredible work, honest, beyond reproach.

We have stopped here several times. My son loves trains and has gotten several HO cars for his set up. My dad has also had several cars and locomotives repaired here on the spot. The owner and workers are always friendly and knowledgeable.

What a great resource for model rail roading. The store has everything you need, and the owner is a great guy to deal with. The prices are better than online. I expected to get some of the things I needed there then finish up purchasing online however it is well worth my drive across the bridge into Kentucky to shop at the Allied Rail Corporation. I will be back, and I will recomend this place to friends!

There's not a lot of REAL Model train shops around these days. This place is a model train that I have been searching for. They have a lot of the older rolling stock and are a great source for Lionel material. I have been searching for L&N stuff for years. These guys have been my #1 resource for finding the stuff that I'm looking for. I always look forward to doing business here when I pop by.

I was given a box full of HO scale trains a while ago and had no idea where to start to get them to run well again. Everyone I talked to at Allied Rail Corp was very knowledgeable and helpful! They educated me on what the stuff I had might be worth and what parts I would need to get all of my engines and cars rolling again. Overall my experience was great and I will certainly be back and would recommend them to anyone looking to get into the hobby or someone that’s already got experience.

Where does one start? We are not a train hobbyists. We visited the store to get an old N-Scale set up and running again. Not being a hobbyist, I had no idea where to start. In comes the gentlemen at Allied Rail Corp. They were kind, patient and abundantly generous. They took a look at our parts, fixed what they could, suggested the pieces/parts to get us moving again. To my layman's eyes, they had everything and much, much more that anyone in the hobby could need/want. The best part was that they were never pushy--never attempted to up-sell us. They were fully aware that budgets are real and never made it feel like a "retail" experience. If anything were to convert us into train hobbyists, it would probably be the great experience we had here.

We worked with Allied Rail Corp. to make a model in a construction case we were working on and could not have been happier with the result. The model needed to be to scale, realistic, and have the ability to open up to show the construction inside of the model.

We were on a strict deadline and they were very responsive and worked with us every step of the way, giving us updates and allowing us to come in and discuss the progress. They even worked with us to make some last minute changes for this project that was already under a time crunch for them due to our tight schedule.

We gave them a cardboard box with drawn on construction paper on the outside to show them what we envisioned, and they created something we could confidentially use with the client and court.

Full disclosure I am NOT an expert on model trains or layouts. I simply put mine out from when I was a kid around my tree at Christmas time (Lionel O gage) and my dad recently gave me his N scale set up.

I went down there to see if I could get some help and repairs on dad's N scale stuff. Tom was just SO helpful and patient with my questions. He fixed the coupler on an older N scale locomotive that was Dad's and I ended buying another one and cattle car which he converted the coupler to fit old stuff I already had.

The shop is like a mini train museum, so many COOL things (engines, rolling stock, track, buildings etc.) He really knows his stuff and is a real craftsman. Whether you're a serious hobbyist, just dabble or just want to lean something I cannot recommend this shop enough.

THANK YOU again for the help!

It all started as an email. Then 3 well detailed emails later. I had to stop by the shop. I am new at this ho scale hobby. Let me tell ya, these guys here made me feel like this was my home. Gave me some do’s and do nots in this hobby. Pointed me to the right direction. Answer ALL my questions. Andy was amazing. I felt good to leave my engines with him. This is the place to go. All their stuff is super cheap compared to the online stores. Everything you need train wise this is the place to be. Yes i will be returning. Yes, i will not let the wife know i stopped in. Overall a great, amazing atmosphere of a business.

I am not sure who the other people are talking about in these reviews but I don’t think Andy the owner couldn’t have been any more helpful to me and my son. We are just getting into the HO hobby and went down to his store to tire kick and try to learn a little. Andy took the time to show us all kinds of different options for our layout and even had a partially built one there showing us options for ours. He spent over an hour with us answering all of our beginner questions. We hadn’t planned on buying anything but after we got looking around at the amount of inventory and prices we came out of there with a ton of engines and rolling stock (just learned that rolling stock means train cars, who knew). Thank you very much and we look forward to doing business with them again!

Everyone at the American Eagle Rail Group store has been exceptionally attentive to my son. My son is 11 years old and beyond passionate about trains. Andy has spent a LOT of time talking "shop" with him. My son loves the train shop and seeing the large scale displays they are making for other clients. I never knew how intricate train displays were until now. Andy helped my son select additional cars, track, etc for his collection. He spent quite a bit of time dismantling the train engine so he could teach my son how to replace parts on the engine and put it back together, i.e. replacing the coupler, the railing on the side, etc. My son CANNOT wait to go back to the store. They are very knowledgeable and attentive and willing to spend time with the customer. We have enjoyed visiting the store.

I've never had any issues with this company. They have a great selection of trains and accessories and have done several repairs on my locomotive. Now, in knowing that they don't have tons of people working for them (which is expected) they do a great job.

Their showroom has been adding items on a regular basis that you cannot find anywhere else. The selection of Athearn, Roundhouse, VARNEY, and a host of other kits is beyond what I've seen in years. I also collect some O scale and can tell you that what I've purchased is much more affordable than what I've been paying at other hobby shops.

I cant understand why some folks like to air their laundry on here. But, these guys have a wonderful showroom that can even show you a few ideas while building your model railroad. Lots of neat vintage items.

Christmas saved! Our Santa engine stopped playing sounds 2 days into December... our 4 year old boy was crushed. I called a few places and was quoted weeks to months for a turn around time. These guys fixed the wiring while we waited and we were able to get the engine back to delivering Christmas magic.

Good folk run the place. Very helpful. Didn't have the exact random item we were looking for, but quite helpful in pointing to resources more appropriate. Still had a lot of good conversation and their prices seemed reasonable. Would shop there for train stuff.

Well I do not know why I didn't read the reviews before sending in a large deposit back in March of this year. I ordered a layout to be built and Andy was just the nicest person you could imagine and fairly responsive via phone, email and text up until about 3 weeks ago. Now I cannot get a hold of anyone or anything at this place, emails are bounced back, mobile phones don't work etc. IM SCREWED it appears. Not only was my layout supposed to be here in Sept/Oct its not arriving at all it seems.

I’ve been looking for a hobby shop with a wide selection of trains for awhile now and I came across these guys. Immediately I was taken back to the days of Davis trains in milford oh. (In my opinion the greatest hobby shop maybe even retail store of all time!)They gave great advice I've been looking for since I switched from ho to o scales.I told the owner I had purchased a locomotive with a tender that did not match from a listing I saw on letgo. Andy I believe his name is went above and beyond to find a locomotive that would better match the tender. He found a locomotive in his back room that runs perfectly and sold it for 30 bucks! Andy even threw in a small transformer since I had mentioned I was using only the lionchief ac plug with my fastrack penn flyer! They had a great used selection of all scale’s of trains at great prices and they barter as well! My15 month old daughter and my sister with me as well. The guys were Extremely nice and family friendly with all of us! Will definitely come back again soon!

Greetings,

I have dealt with Andy and Tom for many years. Great people to deal with. Any items I have needed for model railroads, if they didn't have it, they would get it for me. I highly recommend them.
