Bizarro World

Bizarro is a must-stop if you are a nerd visiting or living-in Davis. The store owner, Dan, is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his wares and the hobbies of his customers. He’s even kind enough to keep an eye out for me when I ask for something really niche. Everything is well priced, and the store itself feels like digging through a time capsule when you visit. I especially like that there’s always something new, which gives me a reason to come back frequently. Dan has had every hobby under the sun enter his doors, hence an ever replenishing and strong selection. If you’re a collector of any type in the Davis area, Bizarro should be your first stop!

I went to school at UC Davis years ago and have been stopping by this comic book shop ever since. It's hard to find old school comic book shops anymore that cater to whatever your interests are and it's always nice when you find them. The owner makes sure to set things aside for me that he thinks I'll be interested in. All in all, I appreciate that the owner chooses to come into work each and every day so that comic book fans and sci-fi nerds have a place to call their own.

Bizarro World is a classic comic book shop - a place of nostalgia & authenticity & a respite from the digital world. It has an excellent selection of titles, plus cards, RPGs, videos, and vinyl. Highly recommend!

I always drop by this location whenever i am in Davis. An amazing spot for current comic books, trading cards, variety of DVDS, CDS, VHS tapes, action figures, Video Games from all generations and many misalanious treasures. Fun visit, many great deals and many cool items to purchase. Check it out for yourself.

I really love the movie rentals. This guy has everything and knows everything about it. The store has a massive collection of comics in front and movies in back. There are so many it's hard to find what you want... But I think that's a good problem to have, and I feel good supporting a local business.

Bizarro world has been my go-to for comics and card games since we moved back to Davis in 2008. The owner and his son are knowledgeable and helpful and have helped my kids build decks and learn to play Pokémon tcg and MtG. We frequent the store to check out what’s new and get what we need and always have a good conversation. Highly recommend for all your comic, gaming, and geeking out needs!

Went here randomly while visiting a friend who goes to school at Davis, this place was cram packed with comics. On top of that their was a wide selection of not only MTG card packs, but individual cards for sale. Great for any sort of nerds interested in cheap cards and comics

Been going here 30+ years, never had an issue nor complaint — in Bizarro speak “me am unfan!”, which of course means I’ll be back for another 30 years…

What an amazing blast from the past!!! Browsed for hours... and then bought an old Silver Surfer comic :)

Went in there with my older brother I'm not really a comic book guy but I found this little gem that is a must have for an old school head banger. I had the poster on my bedroom wall when I was in middle school.

Amazing. Truly a comic con type of store that has all from retro to modern things to love as a collector.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I come to Davis. And it’s mainly thanks to the customer service. Collin helps with all questions and concerns, and the friendliness surpasses what you would expect from a small town comic shop. I’m motivated to visit regardless of buying something, but the combination of items available is both nostalgic and incredibly insightful for new and old readers, gamers, and nerds alike.

I love going here and paroozing the manga comics and other cool stuff. I just recently picked up an amazing manga compendium and an awesome batman comic. I would highly recommend this place the atmosphere is amazing and welcoming to everyone.

I've been coming to Bizzaro World on and off since around 2004 to its various locations. It's always been a refuge for misfits and people who didn't quite fit in elsewhere. To me, it feels like home. After spending many years away in Australia, it was the first place I visited when I came back to Davis. It's still the same place I remembered, and I still love it.

Now it seems trading cards are vogue and can turn a quick profit, so everybody feels entitled to exploit this local business. Most of these negative reviews are in this spirit and strike me as fairly petty. To each their own.

If you love all things geeky and nerdy like comics, science fiction, board games, movies, and trading cards, you'll probably love this place. I hope it feels like home to you too.

Always great finds here that rotate constantly!

Throughout my time in Davis, Bizarro World has always been my go to shop for anything comics, table top, or trading card related. There is a humble authenticity to the store that is hard to find anywhere else. I love all the cool vintage stuff they get in from time to time and have found some very neat items over the years (out of print dnd books, collector editions of old computer games, and more).

Great store. Great staff. Great inventory. Owner has a great smile and winning personality. Very professional and knowledgeable.
