Straus Tobacconist

Now this a must visit attraction when in Cincinnati. I had some downtime while on a business trip, staying across the street at the Westin hotel. I took the time and had a cigar over here while catching up on emails and phone calls for the day. This is a one-of-a-kind place with a terrific atmosphere. The staff and customers are beyond friendly and almost family oriented. It really feels like you are back in the day Of friendly USA. Please also has a ton of history as it is supposedly the third oldest cigar lounge in the USA. There are lots of memorabilia from the history of this store that really brings a nostalgic environment. Chairs are nice, comfortable, and the room spacious enough where you do not feel crowded. Cigars are plentiful with great variety with high-end sticks without being crazy prices. I can’t wait to visit this place again.

I had the good Fortune of stopping into the Straus Tobacconist. Great staff, customers, smoking area and humidor selection. My next visit to Cincinnati will definitely include another visit to Straus Tobacconist!

What an extraordinary experience! I went in and got a that I had never heard of on the recommendation of one of the trained knowledgable Tobacconists. That I must say was superb.

For a cigar aficionado like me this place is a God send. The only place in Downtown Cincinnati where you can procure a great smoke and then commiserate with the likes of Oscar Robertson.

This is a cigar lounge in downtown Cincinnati, very close to the 2X bus to the airport, so entirely appropriate if you want to enjoy a cigar before or after a flight.

They have a decent selection of cigars, which appear to be well kept and are a reasonable price. They also have their own brand cigars, which are worth checking out.

It's a fairly small lounge, I think 9 seats, and it was very busy, but there was always a seat available. They sell drinks as well, to have with your cigar.

The lounge has windows facing out onto the city street, which is always nice - you can just watch the world go by.

If I'm back in Cincinnati, I'll certainly pop back in on the way to the airport.

Nice selection. Good prices. The people who run the place are particularly friendly and knowledgeable. They even have a comfy cozy little place to relax and smoke while watching the city go by.

I’ll be back whenever I pass through town again.

Great cigar store! I am not from Cincinnati but stopped by to grab a couple of stogies. The staff was very friendly and offered to help me pick a cigar. They have a great selection of cigars, pipe tobacco, and cigarettes. They have some chairs for smoking but not a very large lounge. I wouldn't bank on getting a chair and being able to smoke at the store, but I would recommend to anyone in downtown Cincinnati looking for a stop and shop type cigar store.

This is a great Cigar shop! From what I understand, it is the 3rd oldest tobacconist in the country. I met Rocky Petal there, what are the odds. They had a great selection of cigars and fair pricing. Customer service was excellent. I would recommend and I would go back.

It’s a great place to sit and relax and have a good cigar. They have a excellent selection of quality cigars.

Started shopping here approximately 1997 after receiving a complimentary CAO Gold cigar at a Christmas party. Was disappointed when I came in to purchase some of what I thought was the best cigar and found that they no longer sold them. But I have enjoyed many other fine cigars from here to include a box of curleyheads to hand out our wedding. Anyway I now smoke a pipe and truly enjoy the Mercantile blend and those around me when I smoke really enjoy the aroma. I have also purchased a few pipes from there and have always been happy. Great customer service and Jim is always happy to say hi.

Stopped in during a recent business trip, unfortunately near closing time. Bought some excellent house blend pipe tobacco and they let me pack a pipe and smoke while they settled up from the days business. Class acts, friendly, and a comfortable relaxing setting. A+

Awesome place, great customer service. Hate that they are associated with the Florence location. Bypass it and come here. Other place has ZERO customer service.

Simply the best cigar shop in Cincinnati. Broad selection at good prices. Very knowledgeable staff. You can also sit and have a smoke in excellent company.

Great tobacco blends, great customer service, wonderful pipe and cigar location, and just a classy store. If I lived closer to downtown Cincinnati, this would be a regular haunt. Order some tobacco and try it for yourself.

Jim Clarke and his team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. This is my go to spot for cigars!

Great selection of cigars

This place is magical. It’s where I fell in love with cigars, my grandfather went here in the 50’s and 60’s and whenever I’m town I make sure to patron this place as well. Hope it’s around forever.
