Garden District Coffee

One of my favorite coffee shops to do work or go to read. I've noticed one of the new employees is very passive aggressive and confirmed with other friends who enjoy the place that they experienced the same.

The only reason I'm writing this review is because I watched her be actively rude and passive aggressive to a couple who ordered coffee to-go an hour before closing. They tried to engage her in friendly conversation and she confirmed she was "frazzled" due to her having closed most of the shop an hour early since no new customers had come in for a while.

I've never had a bad interaction with any other employee which is why this stuck out to me as uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy coffee. Tabitha is a new worker who serves her customers very well and is very relaxed. It’s a great environment. I will come again!

It’s a very nice place especially the outdoor area. Had their cafe au lait on the second visit. It was good.

Cozy little place off Perkins. The coffee is good, the staff is very nice, the place is great for a relaxing cup of coffee. They even offer wifi to customers.

Neighborhood coffee shop where you can see people visiting over good coffee, reading the paper or a book. Dog friendly outside that is like an oasis!

The coffee/espresso has a really pleasant roast to it and the music is bumping (it’s cute jazz)

This little shop has a great atmosphere inside and out. The outdoor area is well lit and the wall of greenery gives you some privacy even though it’s right next to the street. It’s a great little shop and I’ll be coming here more.
Oh and the coffee is good to!

The iced coffee with white chocolate and milk was delicious. The pink rose macaron was sweet. The shop is cozy and quiet with nice music playing. The staff was friendly and quick.

My favorite coffee shop in Baton Rouge! I love that everyone in the neighborhood hangs out here. Since moving here, my daily visit has helped me meet a number of neighbors that I wouldn't have met otherwise. Highly recommend everything they have, but the Granita in the summer is a real treat!

The coffee is wonderful and the workers are so nice. I genuinely love this place so much!

Great atmosphere, comfortable place with great service! Got just a basic latte, they had various milk choices, and it was a little liquid heavy but the foam was a great texture. Their espresso is very bright, which I my favorite.

Today I went to the coffee shop and I saw the person before me had paid with 2 dollar bills and I ask the cashier if he was going to keep them and if not I would like to buy them. He said I do keep them but let’s do this you get one and I get one. I said fair deal. Then I ordered my coffee a white chocolate latte with six pumps of caramel and it was made perfect. I will be frequenting this coffee shop more.
I am new to the area and have been trying different small owner coffee shops and have found most nice but the friendliness of this shop has won a repeat customer. And also the coffee is good.

Cozy hideaway... Love it! ♥

This place has improved a lot since becoming Garden District Coffees! The atmosphere is really great and it is always busy, though never loud. The crowd seems to be a little more mature... more professors, artists, and businessmen than students. The baked goods are wonderful and the coffee is usually good. Wide selection of teas. The baristas are quick and polite.

Quiet and relaxing with friendly staff and great coffee. Most of the customers appeared to be Garden District residents, with a handful of LSU students. There's plenty of space inside and outside to read, study, or catch up with your friends. The outdoor patio area is clean and cozy, with some tables covered by a wood awning so you don't bake in the sun. Prices were very fair. They also sell several varieties of their own whole-bean coffee roasted in-house. Overall a great place to satisfy your coffee fix for people all ages.

I live within a mile, and have been many times now. Great spot. Great coffee and some excellent desserts and food. Strong mix of long time local residents and students, and a really friendly group of people. Always friendly and quick service

I loved it here! There's an outdoor deck with an outlet for working outdoors. The bamboo wall blocks out some noise and provides some privacy. The inside is well spaced with a few comfy chairs.
