Ploughman Cider Taproom

Visited here during Gettysburg Rocks fundraiser in February. Very nice. The people there were very nice. I had a flight and it was good. Actually don’t remember what all was in it though. I added them on Facebook and it seems like the frequently have bands and local entertainment . I plan to visit again soon!

Great location right on the square in Gettysburg! Nice little barroom with a well-curated range of excellent Pennsylvania beers, wines, and spirits, and of course, Ploughman's exceptional ciders (as well as other great PA ciders). Food is simple but well-made. Outdoor seating is in a mix of shade and sun, and service is great, indoors and out. It needs to be noted: these are not sweet, fizzy ciders, they are much drier and more traditional, made from a blend of cider apples, not culinary apples. If that's what you like, you'll love this. If you don't know about this type of cider, there is no better place to learn!
Caveat: I was here at the invitation of the owner to give a talk on rye whiskey.

Stopped by early one week day. Had a plate of appetizers and sampled their selection of ciders. Not a cider fan but did like a couple, wife really liked most of them. Being quiet had a good conversation with Josh. Nice space and a good time.

This place made me a fan of ciders. One of the best places on our trip over Memorial Day weekend. Excellent ciders, I particularly liked the Black Arkansas and Gold Rush. The Gold Rush reminded me of a Riesling with a dry finish. The staff is very helpful and if they don’t have it on tap, they have it in bottles.

When you walk into a cider bar and tell the bartender you usually hate ciders, he should say "kindly leave" right? This place did a great job of changing our minds. My husband and I had only tried the commercial products like Redds, etc. so it was a treat to get two flights and discover the more interesting side of cider. Enjoyed the relaxed vibe, and the live music too. Keep it up!

I've never been to a Cider taproot before and this place has a very interesting assortment of cider. Nothing was bad and they have beer and cocktails of you don't like cider. We didn't eat from their food menu but their small selection looks really good.

Not much of a cider drinker, but dam these were definitely delicious!!! Smooth tasting and goes down easy. Very chill atmosphere with live music.
I will make it a stop when we return.

Amazing cider (The Harrison is top 2 best cider I’ve ever had) and great non-alcoholic options during lent!

This place has become a hidden favorite of mine. They have great cider sure, but the mixed drinks are fun and the people who work there make you feel loved, accepted and welcome. Katie, who is the kitchen Manager, was our bartender and we loved talking to her and hearing about the journey that brought her here. We will totally be going back soon, and this time ready to eat!

There was a great 5 piece band as well. Wonderful atmosphere and felt super welcome there.

Some of the best cider on the East Coast. Owners are local and know how to make amazing cider and creative cocktails in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Take time to stop here regardless of if you are visiting or local.

Great experience, gentleman behind bar wad awesome and d9 helpful giving us ideas on where to eat and other bars to try out as well as some night life ideas. He definitely is a good employee and non biased which is why my 2ife and I who were visiting were happy to stay longer. Awesome job and absolutely will be coming back.

Came through for the first time during the Gettysburg Remembrance Parade. This place is awesome!!! I was already a fan of the cider, but there’s so many more on tap. The bartenders Austin and Gabe were so friendly, AND there was live music. The taproom was the perfect cozy spot.

We arrived in Gettysburg around 1000 on a Saturday night in search of something to eat before finding a hotel. Most restaurants were closed and we were happy to find this gem of a spot. We had two kinds of fresh pasties, cheese and onion and chickpea curry; both were amazing. We then shared a salad (they only have one salad) and it was absolutely, deliciously amazing. We finished our meal with a berry pie. We were also given a sample of one of the ciders. We requested Sprite to drink and were told they didn't have it, but the fantastic manager made us one from ingredients he had in the bar with fresh lemon and lime (among other ingredients). The manager said this was his last night at the taproom and I'm sure many guests will miss him as he was the best host we couldn't asked for! Thank you for a great meal and an even better experience!

Drinks: delicious, local craft cider, and a FREAKY good cocktail made with local pawpaw fruit!

Vibe: spacious, well-lit, good tunes per the barkeeps selection; lots of wood, but also plenty of color; a collection of books for sale pertaining to cider, apples, and food/cooking; I met a couple regulars/locals who were very friendly; the service was friendly and efficient
