I haven’t eaten here in 20+ years. We ate with friends in the Museum room and were attended to by Clifton. Fantastic room for dining with lots of great history. Clifton was superb - he provides some of the best service and was incredibly attentive. The food was quite good as well. Great experience, will not wait another 20 to head back.

This is one of my favorite places to go while visiting Gettysburg. This is my second time I’ve been here and service has not gone down since I last came a few years ago!
The staff is super accommodating to any allergies, as well as ensuring your every need is met.
The food was absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection from the appetizers to the entree to finally the delicious desserts! The atmosphere is by far the best I’ve been in while having dinner.
I loved how the staff stayed in costume, and I loved how the seating arrangements were of that of different style chairs giving it an extremely homey feel. It overall is just top class! Also, fantastic decorations for Christmas and holiday season.
I could go on and on about it how much I love this restaurant, but you’re gonna have to go there to find find out yourself!

My family & I spent summers in Gettysburg when my brother & sisters were young & would come here often for family dinners. It's great to be back 30 yrs later. Excellent food & and service, but more importantly, how often do you get to dine & drink in a 1776 tavern/inn. Not often at all. Love this place & its rich history. Highly recommend!

We had a delicious lunch! Onion soup was so yummy and so was the crab cake sandwich. I ordered a serving of the date and nut bread to go and had that for breakfast today. Yum! Shaun our server was friendly and attentive. His recommendations were terrific. We also met Dawn who was so kind and helpful when I ask questions. She made sure we happy and we really appreciated her! Wonderful experience all around this historical and beautiful tavern!

Didn't stay in their inn or rooms. Dinner at the fine dining was amazing. Steak was phenomenal and side dishes were to die for. Setting was super romantic and very intimate. Reservations are a must due to super busy for dinner but we got a private table next to the fireplace and it was perfect. Drinks were on point and service was very good.

The food was amazing! We had to wait 1.5 hours, but it was worth the wait. The staff was very nice. They were busy, so have grace with the wait times. The French onion soup was incredible. Best I have ever had. My husband and daughter had the charbroiled steak sandwich and loved it. The crab dip is one of the best I’ve ever had. The apple pie was awesome, definitely recommend. The gingerbread cake was just okay. I think it depends on your taste. My sister loved it, I didn’t. It tasted like chocolate instead of like gingerbread spice. Hope this helps. And check out the gift shop. A little pricey for souvenirs, but cute items.

Loved this place! The period clothing and the ambiance was wonderful! Our whole dinner from beginning to end was delicious. Started with the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing and it was everything the waiter said it would be. Our entrees were amazing and then to end it with a piece of cheesecake. It was our anniversary dinner and this place made it perfect!

We reserved a spot in the restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were top-notch. We shared the Kings French onion soup to start. Then we had the pork tenderloin with baked potato and the house special, seafood Isabella, which were both excellent. Cooked to perfection. We ended with a slice caramel crunch cake and an Irish coffee each. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend this place as a must stop for lunch or dinner.

I've been to Gettysburg four times, & I always eat here. I love the Springhouse Tavern located downstairs. The Baked King's Onion Soup is AMAZING!! I have never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is very cozy, & the service is great! It is in a very convenient location, within walking distance of several hotels. Give it a try! I very much recommend!

Plenty of free parking is a great way to be welcomed. We went on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm, and the place was packed. After eating, we know why. The hostess has the place locked down completely, even to seats at the bar, of which we got the last two. The bartender lady was polite, attentive, and not intrusive. My wife’s beverage was served in a keepsake glass, and the bartender lady took great care to wrap it in paper and give us a special bag for it for a safe trip home. The space is not small, and yet cozy. The low-ish ceiling keeps it warm, but does not make it noisy. The food was delicious and big, allowing each of us to take home half of our meals. Highly recommend it. They also have rooms to rent. It was also part of the Underground Railroad. Was the owner a Mason? My sandwich was named for such an affiliation.

I have been on a hand full of occasions. I it's mine and my best friends go to place when we get together. We love this place. The service is amazing, very friendly and kind. The food is out of this world. We try something new and have our favorites we get every time too. We are always full and very happy when we leave. The location and set up is beautiful we love the feel we get when we are there. We always arive early to out our name on the list, then walk around in the store and or the house. The historical background and it's history are awesome as well.

We had an an excellent candle-lit dinner in the Alexander dining rooms here. Service was very good overall (including booking the reservation via phone), and the "of fish and flesh" lobster tail and fillet steak were pretty immaculate. I'd definitely come here again.

I can’t say enough amazing things about the Dobbins House. They have a tavern down below and fine dining in main floors. The original natural spring still runs under the house and you can see it. This historical gem is a must visit when you go to Gettysburg. They are very accommodating and the hospitality is above a 5 star. Make sure to get a Rum Belly/ Rum Vengeance ( limit two per customer)… Family atmosphere. The staff is in period dress and they have some historical things to see throughout the house!

This was a great experience! The food was amazing & the atmosphere can't be beat! If you go for lunch, be there by open or it'll be a wait! If you want to be downstairs, it has an old tavern feel & is candlelit, which is so fun! The staff is dressed in period clothing & it makes it feel more authentic. Loved the porridge and the cider!

Great location, ambiance, service and food. We were happy to be able to get reservations and were not disappointed. Friendly staff and amazing food. I had the onion soup (really worth it) and prime rib. The pecan pie really topped off the evening. Probably the best pecan pie I have ever had.

Great experience! Waitress (Rachel) was awesome; friendly, polite, cheerful, witty, and worked hard to ensure our large party was taken care of during dinner. The food was amazing. Best salad (spinach weigh bacon dressing) - yum!

Amazing food! This was a tavern not a hotel. The staff was friendly and very cheerful. We had a great time here. Took our time in eating and just talking to each other. There was even a couple sitting there in the same room at another table who we spoke to as well and they were pleasant to talk to.

I've been to Dobbins House numerous times. It's difficult to get a reservation for the upstairs (call several days to a week ahead) but the downstairs is first come first serve. Check in to hold your place then go for a walk. The downstairs is dark by a great atmosphere. I've never had a bad experience with any wait staff. The only downside is there's only about 3 desserts to choose from. The cheesecake is delicious though!

I ate tonight at the Springhouse Tavern and did not know what to expect - I’m a visitor in town and picked the place because it was close to my hotel and it was the middle of a snowstorm! I ordered a black bean veggie burger and the seasonal vegetable side of butternut squash. The squash was freaking delicious. I could have eaten a buffet tray full. It was perfectly roasted and seasoned. The veggie burger was house made and also excellent! I wish I lived down the street from this place.
