My wife and I had a great experience buying roof racks, Hobie Kayaks and related accessories from Ski Rack Sports. Chris, the Assistant Manager, was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, answering all our questions and patiently making recommendations that met our needs. This is a great place and we will be back!

Super friendly staff, not the kind of place to pressure you into buying anything. Could have a better selection of snowboard gear, but they have a wide variety of clothing and skis.

I stopped in to check out kayaks, and I learned a lot from Peter, the General Manager. In fact I went back the next day a bit before closing to purchase a Vapor 10XT, and Chris was kind enough to attach my roof rack after hours (on the hottest day of the season I believe) and show me how to properly lift and attach my kayak. Everyone at the store were just as helpful as well. So glad a friend told me where to get one fast. I recommend everyone stop there. In fact I am sure I will be back when the snow starts to fall.

10/10 recommend these guys. We got an amazing bike, and some incredible skis at a very fair price on both. If you need some good gear, go see these guys. No bs, they won’t try to up-sell you on anything you don’t need, but also have all the top of the line stuff if you want it. Just a really fun place to go shop and talk to experts. You can’t go wrong.

My partner and I bought two bikes from Ski Rack after having multiple full days of disheartening conversations with various bike shops (I was told it would be *impossible* to find a gravel bike under $1600 at one shop). John in the bike area was the kindest and most knowledgeable person we talked to in our entire bike shopping experience. Not only did he actually respect budget restrictions, but he spent a long time with us explaining everything fully, ensuring we got the best we could within our price ranges. I was looking for a gravel bike and my partner a hybrid or mountain bike and we both left happy, thanks to John. If you are looking for a bike I highly recommend this shop. My only recommendation would for them to make it clearer that they sell such great bikes! I had been a few times before for ski needs but somehow missed that each time.

Their product selections are robust and the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended!

Ski rack sports is an outdoor recreation equipment store in Bangor maine. They sell things like kayaks and canoes from oldtown,
Skis and snowboarding equipment as well as lots of Other fun things. My wife and I went to the scratch and dent sale they have there every year. It's called scratch and dent sale however I couldn't find any real imperfections on most of the kayaks and canoes there. You pretty much get brand new kayaks or canoes for hundreds off. I got the oldtown vapor angler 12 and it's been great.

I live in Boston but grew up in Stockton Springs and randomly saw an add for the boat sale today. Within an hr I got the boat I've been wanting for 2years at the best cost possible and am so Thankful for their amazing team! These guys are great, we went in looking for a trade in on my husbands boots, found the perfect pair and they gave us a super fair trade in value. I also wanted a new pair of ski boots as well but after Glen spent literally an hour fiddling and tweaking my old boots I realized they were perfect after all. Thanks for making our ski trip 100% better!

I bought a used bike from them a couple months ago. We have made several trips back and always spoken to kind knowledgeable staff. My daughter came out of the store on the last trip and said "I like ski rack sports!"

This place is great! They had exactly what I was looking for and had me out the door in a few minutes. Got a discounted Ocean Kayak - they get factory blemishes ($599 for a $799 product) - and it's super hard to find kayaks at the moment (due to both COVID logistics disruptions and folks spending their stimmy on outdoor products).

When my wife and I first met, up until about 8 years ago, she used to complain that all I wanted to do was go to Best Buy. Now she complains that all I want to do is go to Ski Rack Sports. I absolutely love this place. I have been going here since I bought our first pairs of skis in 2014. Since then I have rented snowboard equipment for my son every season as well as purchasing snowboard boots for myself, upgraded skis, four bikes (a fat tire bike, a full-suspension mountain bike, a kids bike and a jr. bike) and in addition they assembled my road racing bike. Their spring tune-up special for bikes is inexpensive and their bike repair persons are professional and knowledgeable. This is THE place to buy ski equipment and anything related to cycling. I haven't purchased any kayaking stuff, but if I was interested in purchasing it, I would definitely buy it here. The owner, Pete is just a wonderful guy, fully appreciates our business and treats us like VIPs when we come into rent/buy things. We know most of the guys that work there. Prices are competitive and beats shopping for this stuff online since you can try things on and ride around on bikes before you buy them. Even their clothes - hats, jackets, etc. are excellent and reasonably priced. Also, they offer consignment for used gear (they sold my ElliptiGo and a pair of ski boots) and is a spectacular deal - you get to keep 80% of the sale if you take store credit (which I'll always use.) If you take cash, you get 60%, still a great deal for not having to do any of the selling yourself. If you're looking for any sort of outdoor gear, this is the place to buy it. I wholeheartedly recommend this outstanding business.

I came here to get my bike fixed and they didn’t even charge me for one of the parts because I hadn’t specifically requested it. They were SO knowledgeable and helpful, and all of them were really nice as well. I will definitely go back to them for any issues I have and would recommend!

I went in the other day and was looking for some Cliff Bars. An employee recommended me a couple kinds to try out. I've been hooked ever since. His name was Preston or something that started with a P, maybe Parker. Thought people should know to go check Ski Rack out even for little things like Cliff Bars!

Great service from Ski Rack Sports bike shop. I had my bike serviced and some parts replaced in between two long-haul tours. Josh was really helpful, great communication and even delivered the bike to me in Bar Harbor.

Unbelievable Lexus-quality customer service. I bought a Cannondale bike and Peter the GM personally assisted. He was a wealth of knowledge and with an eye for my safety, helped me with the correct size bike for my body. He knew every dimension requirement; arms, legs, height, weight, making the end result a bike that feels like it was custom made just for me. It was worth a two hour drive from Eastport to deal with a professional who cares. And the Cannondale technology is exceptional.
