Blackhawk Hardware and Garden Center

This is the friendliest store I have visited in years. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. My wife and I were looking for cabinet pulls for our new house and the two gentlemen that helped us were absolutely amazing. The selection was massive and they really helped us narrow things down to our selection. The store itself is great with a kids toy section, free popcorn and a little section of old school sodas and candies. We are going to buy all of our cabinet hardware from here and will just go back to visit with the kids too. Not many places like this still exist with a whole staff of good, wholesome people. Highly recommend!!!

Blackhawk, Hardware and Garden Center, a family owned (now Ace is the master company) Hardware store located at 4225 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28209 is the best Hardware Store I have ever been to. It’s gigantic and has a lot, lot, lot of really awesome tools and gadgets for the home. It’s way more than just a place to get tools at. Greeter Donald was great! Very friendly as well as the other Staff there. Even the Checkout ladies were very welcoming - loved that!!!!. 2 Dogs who are the Owner’s Dogs are very sweet and ultra mellow walking around. Love dogs!!!
Travel to come here - it will be worth your while!

Blackhawk Hardware in Charlotte is a gem. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, providing personalized assistance. This place was AWESOME! We stopped in while we had some free time in the area and we’re amazed by the size, selection, and presentation of the entire building. I was told that it sits in an old Sear’s building with a bomb shelter in the basement that they have converted to more floor space. Very cool!! Friendly staff and fresh popcorn help too! Don’t forget to check out the garden area!!

Has everything in this store...was fun to walk around. It has 2 levels! There is wheelchair access because they have an elevator to take you to each level. They sell toys as well by the cashiers checkout! Has so many options for buying for your home!

This was my first time at Blackhawk and I have to say the place is so nice! The garden area is amazing to look at . This place is huge! I needed a key made , there was a great selection.The associate Manny was super helpful making my keys , he even helped me locate another item I was looking for. Overall I will be back due the customer service he provided me.

The garden area is a magical place!
My husband is a grill man & Blackhawk has the dreamiest of grills.

I just fall a little more in love each time I walk into the garden area. You absolutely have to check out this place. Set aside an hour or two and shop to your hearts content.

I had the most wonderful time this afternoon shopping at Blackhawk Hardware.
The folks here are always ready to help customers find the perfect items.
I had the pleasure of meeting Andy and Scout and Nacho (the hardware store dogs are like family) they are just precious.

Did you know that you can purchase a beautiful gift certificate. Stop by and ask for Ashanti, she did such a lovely job presenting me with the certificate this afternoon.
I took plenty of videos of beautiful Christmas decorations & found the perfect college ornament for our son that attends Appalachian State University. I’m going to surprise him by putting it in his Christmas stocking. Also, picked up a beautiful Christmas hand towel for my friend that manages Kindred in Davidson.

What a surprise and delight this place is!! They have hard to find and unique items of high quality around every corner. This sort of establishment is so rare and probably what America used to be like before McDonaldization. Good on them for creating community through this store. The people are pleasant and friendly and my dog was welcome. Fantastic place to take your dog on a rainy day, btw. I will definitely be back. Loved everything.

Had an amazing experience in this store today. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. They had at least 8+ people sitting around the sales floor hanging out ready to help. Dogs are allowed and they give out free treats and love to pet them. Free popcorn at the front, too! Eclectic gift selection and other misc home items can make this store a weekly stop. It’s way more than hardware!

If you haven't been to Blackhawk, you need to check out the new enlarged store!! I thought they had everything prior to the renovation, now they truly do!! Huge selection of high quality items. If you need an uncommon size bolt/screw or need anything in Stainless, Blackhawk is the place to go. They carry everything you can think of and some very unique items!
They now have a large selection of grills, including the Big Green Egg grills, Yeti coolers and accessories. They have expanded the selection of door hardware and cabinet pulls. The staff is all very knowledgeable and helpful. Like an old time hardware store, free popcorn in the front of the store and they allow dogs!

It is difficult to put in words the experience of this store. I have never seen such a large and variable amount of inventory. It is like hobby lobby meets bed bath and beyond meets Lowe's. There were 6? Aisles of decorative paper napkins. 4 or 5 rows of grilling accessories, 5 rows of kitchen gadgets, an unbelievable hardware section and 20 yards worth of cubbies of kitchen linens. The yard tools section is huge. Worth a stop. You can find anything in this store.

This is the way to run a business! It's clean and bright very well staffed, stocked and organized. If you have a question about anything, there is going to be an available assistant to answer your query or help you locate items. I always enjoy spending time at this wonderful store as the quality and selections of merchandise are so varied. Best hardware store for miles!

Best hardware store in America. I often just go walk around and look when I'm in Charlotte. It was amazing before, but they've recently expanded into the floor below (used to be storage) and now it's just awesome. My only complaint - and it's true of all Ace hardware stores is there are about 100 too many old men (and I'm a 52 y.o. man myself) working there who want to get involved with whatever it is you're doing. You can't take two steps without some old guy quizzing you on why you're there. They're trying to be helpful, but it's pretty annoying. There's one of you every six feet and you're clearly marked -- if I need help, I'll ask.
If you are a woodworker and want (read: can afford) Festool tools, they have an entire Festool aisle with a great selection. I'm also pretty sure they have every single fastener or fitting known to man and a truly remarkable selection of door/cabinet hardware.

Best customer service and incredible selection! The store includes an entire store which is perfect for gifting! Great greeting cards, key replication station, grills, smokers, throwback candy and soda, kitchen hardware, gardening and paint sections. LOVE this place

This is a great store. They have everything you can think of and a lot of specialty items you won’t find in a Lowe’s/Home Depot. I also love the garden center.

Ron in the Door Hardware Department at Blackhawk Hardware is outstanding and has patiently and knowledgeably helped me on many occasions to solve a multitude of door, hinge, deadbolt, lock and key issues over the years. He has also connected me with a number of independent installers that have helped us implement the solutions he has prescribed. The management and the entire team of Blackhawk Hardware store associates is outstanding...and among them Ron is, was and always has been exemplary. Ron thanks a bazillion and all the best!

Much more than a hardware store. It is a Charlotte experience. Great holiday ornaments selection, tea towels, gadgets, outdoor grills, nice pet section and big selection of bird feeders. A little pricey, but a large variety of items that could provide convenience and of course the free popcorn is a plus!

I was expecting an old fashion Ace Hardware store. No sir and ma’am! What a surprise! Two stories worth of decor and hardware supplies along with a garden center! I spent my entire Friday night there! Max was very helpful with my garden purchases and he gave me more than enough information to get me started on my new planting hobby!

This place is huge and one of the best hardware stores I've ever been in. Locally owned. Well staffed. Everyone I encountered is nice. I'm just visiting from Greenville. If I lived here I'd be a regular.
